Grey cab with big back axle and turbo was the best machine ever made. Great video loved it. 👍👍

remember talking to a driver of a jcb a bout them mini digers in the mid 80s when they first came out, and he said they no good for the work we do, but are okay for a gardener or a landscape gardner but wont last on a building site, then a few years later the demolition guys started with them by lifting them on top of buildings with concreet roofs with a hydraulic hammer on them, now they every ware

I worked for R G millward in wirksworth and they had two 1995 silver jubilee 3cx's in silver all over. We painted them yellow after a bit, but JCB had them back to see what they had worn like and rebuilt them.

3cx for me Any Day of the week, If you Started off on one of These just Like you in the Video jumping into the newer type of leavers is not a problem, But 360 Drivers find it Difficult, We don't have that Problem 😂👍

The farm I worked on when I left school had a jcb very similar to your first one, I can remember loading the west muck spreader with it. The clutch on this one was hard as hell to push down and the steering was really heavy so you were always glad when it was finally loaded!
Enjoyed this video and I am looking forward to see your jcb restoration start! Great videos Michael, keep them coming. 😀👍

Going from the eight stud rear axle, more than likely a Ford tractor axle with dif-lock to a purpose made axle with hub reduction possibly including disc brakes. Also which models used torque converter or standard clutch and gearbox which was a real game changer!

2:10 we are still working one of them JCB 3's based on a Fordson Major skid unit but ours has a more square cab with the pull down rear window, 1964 i think it is. Also we have a 1988 4 wheel drive 3cx Sitemaster extra dig with the 8 stud rear axle, I reckon these are the best range of diggers JCB ever made

For me a 3cx sitemaster turbo late 80s early 90s was great to use for me I found it strange jumping on a mini digger as found the controls so different lol 😆

Great video I enjoyed that... iv been driving excavators for over 10 years but iv recently switched over to the JCB 3cx 2019 on sticks controls old school controls as I like to call it ....and I really really enjoy operating it .. its a challenge which I like but such a great all round machine .....my boss once told me if you can go in to a back garden and dig a tight foundation I mean tight ! Then you can call yourself a machine driver 😅😅

There's still a place for the 3cx on site. We have one in hire at the minute, we use it for general site tidying and unloading lorries, trimming stone etc.

affair with the 3cx . Fantastic multi perpose machine's they took a lot of hammering out on site work.
I think the CAT equivalent was a beefer machine.
Anyway brilliant video, and stories, looking forward too the next video. 👌👍👍

Yes i was a Big fane of JCB and went to Euro Auctions to buy a 3CX but the price was to much for a 2004 at 5000 hours for £28000 and then transport to Cumbria with TK Robinson, Then PV Dobsons had a 2006 Case590 super pilot control with 110 HP come in to there yard with only 3700 hours for only £24750 and it has some better points like a purpose hammer line and rear lights that you can move up to the cab .I drove a power lock up JCB 4CX for 3 yeas in 2005 it good but when i got the Case in 2012 with the Daner gear box it is faster on the road But the extender arm is not as good at puling in and even though CASE invented Smooth ride JCB dos it better .Are JCB only 90 HP

I gave up driving JCBs when the first plastic mudguard JCB came out it was so slow even though I fiddled with the throttle linkage and tinkered with the restriction bolts and a cyclist undertook me driving back to the yard 😡 i then went driving tippers and skip lorrys
