People in the comments say that Rick and his family got off the corn planet as they would turn into corn themselves but I think the real reason why they got off the planet is because grain dust which is produced from corn is explosive. Therefore if a single spark were to land on the surface of the planet, there's a chance it would create an explosive chain reaction and possibly blow up the entire planet considering there is grain dust everywhere.
I think it's more so one of those weird things Rick has fears of like pirates, or it's like the gag with the talking cat where they just don't reveal what the issue is.
Or you know the writers thought it would be funny that Rick would reject a perfectly good planet because he has an issue with cobs for no good reason.

Wouldn't the rocket engine on the ship have set that off? Also couldn't there be any kind of brushfire if it gets dry enough around the equator? Or any kind of errant little meteor coming in?
The real issue is that the cobbed atoms wouldn’t be compatible with regular atomic biology, so they would all die of horrific molecular breakdowns if they ever successfully incorporated any of the local biomass.
Also, there is the secondary issue of the proximate cause of the cobbification. Is it science? Magic? Constant? Transient? A one off event? Will it eventually come for them and put them on a cob, forcing the family to be in constant contact for the rest of show?
That cob planet is the creepiest thing I saw in Rick in Morty... can't explain why, it just feels so disturbing. So I understand Rick's reaction

The vast majority of the black slave trade were local leaders selling rival captives and undesirables to other groups for profit. Whites just started buying from them once European Empires started trading and expanding into Africa. Colonial powers were largely unsuccessful in Africa. Lots of factors were involved, but it mostly came down the large population of the natives and disease being far less an issue than in the Americas'. The few places this wasn't true were far more successful than the rest of Africa before native control resumed. Africa is a poor environment for building a nation much less a superpower thanks to its geography. It's relative isolation within Africa proper and to the outside world basically. Isolation basically dooms a culture from progress.

Actually, I think it's because the Earth's are all very close, and they all have mass, meaning they have gravitational force, and they would eventually break off of the cob and smash into each other, causing a large explosion.
I'm thinking since the cobbiness goes down to a molecular level there may be negative affects because our bodies will in all likelihood reject the nutrition from the cob molecules.

The moment rick saw the corn atom, he was panicking due to him realizing that if they stayed there, their atomic structure will gradually change over time as it will replace our original atoms with corn atoms.
*Every living being on this planet earth undergoes "rejuvenation mode" (replacing atoms over time). Humans included.
TL:DR : The more time they spend there, they will mutate into FLESH COBS. Everyone will stick to one another, melding minds, as they lose their sanity on that planet.

It's much bigger than Earth, so to get its larger circumference round 360 degrees in "only" 42 hours the surface of the planet moves faster, making the sun appear to be moving across the sky so fast.

A 42h day HAS to cover 8.6 degrees an hour, regardless of size. It may LOOK faster if the planet is bigger, but the degrees covered is the same.
In this clip we see roughly 20 degrees covered in about 10 seconds of screen time. This is 120 degrees a minute, translating to a full day lasting 3 minutes on this planet.

Since the sun seems to be alive, and the screams could be heard, I think it may be some sort of bioluminescent lifeform which lives inside the atmosphere and is not that big at all.
So this world might not depend on the sun for energy, but just for light, so it may be possible to kill the sun and live there in the dark.
I like to think there’s an actual scientific reason why being on a cob is bad. Like Rick has experienced this before and it did NOT end well
