    So well done. Bravo. Brings back so many memories of my childhood when I was an avid TNG fan. Inner Light was one of my favorite episodes - and I loved how Picard’s memories from that episode resurfaced and played a role in the “Lessons” episode in the next season. Wonderful - they don’t make TV like that anymore… thank you so much for sharing this.

    The rest of us have been gone a thousand years. If you remember what we were, and how we lived, we will have found life again. Now we live in you. Tell them of us... my darling.

    One of the pieces fromthe Star Trek collection that moves people, even if they've never heard of Star Trek. ;-)

    To be picked for the solo in this piece had to be an incredible honor.

    Like most people, for a long time I thought that the recorder was a child's toy because it's been used for so long to teach elementary school children the principals of music.
    Then I learned that it was at one time considered a serious instrument. I learned this from books of sheet music adapted or written expressly for the recorder. Since then, I've heard it played like the serious instrument that it is.
    And I'm happy to see it being played as part of a full orchestra. Lovely! ❤

    The harpist really contributes to making this song even more beautiful.

    I really like this orchestral arrangement! The use of the recorder is a bit surprising to me (vs a concert flute or penny whistle). I wonder if it was to approximate the appearance of Patric Stewart playing the Ressikan flute rather than for the tonal quality?

      Actually , it was Jay Chattawy . A genius in his own right.

      One of the greatest compositions ever written. Nothing I have ever heard makes me smile and weep as this does.

    Beautiful, but why do I feel like this arrangement was slightly off tonally from the version in Star Trek? It seems like the composer was trying to avoid copyright claims from Paramount?

    • @SciTrekMan
      @SciTrekMan Před 3 měsíci

      The composer (Jay Chattaway) owns the copyright, not Paramount.
