First, learn to silence the mind through meditation, mindfulness practices, etc. Once you become the master of your mind, you can then begin focusing on replacing the old unwanted patterns of thought with positive upbeat thoughts. You can start by viewing situations you would normally see as "negative" in a different light. For Example: Instead of immediately assuming the worst and getting upset over someone break checking you.. assume they're having car trouble and remove yourself from the situation as promptly and safely as you can. Now say they are actually acting out towards you.. then understand the situation is with Themselves and Not with you. When people act out towards others it is always due to something they dislike about themselves and are taking it out on you. Once you can understand this.. you will learn compassion at its finest and never give your power away to anyone or anything ever again.
