I'll be at Maker Central UK this weekend come say Hi
www.makerscent...
WOW!!! AWESOME CREATIVITY!!! You never disappoint. You make it, we copy and learn from the Professor. Peace from Texas
After watching the video advert i was still skeptical. But when i finally downloaded the plans czcams.com/users/postUgkxZF0EMnrujZvqHhGkxiz559uIABJWR9TG i was very impressed. The whole plan was just as you said in the video. Thank you very much. I now have a large and valuable collection for my woodworks. This is great!
This sign turned out amazing!! Safe travels and enjoy the trip!!!
Man-handling that router like a boss. I lost three fingers just watching you.
😂🤣
😂😂😂
that looked frankly terrifying. One kickback is all it takes. Better to have the faceplate flat on the workpiece and dust extraction so you can see what you're doing.
@@tmmtmm Hopefully DMT is happy assuming the liability for their spokesperson demonstrating the most dangerous way to use their product...lol
The only problem with DiResta videos is that I want to watch them for hours instead of getting out to the shop to make stuff! Nice one, Jimmy!
That is great piece and awesome workmanship.
Was great to get to meet you at Makers Central.
Wow this is an amazing sign brother ! 😲. See you at the show and thank you 🙏🏽
Jimmy, I love your content and all that you do. Watched your Netflix show with my kid and loved it, but you scare the crap out of me with your freehand router work. Have fun in the UK!
Can't wait to see ya there!
What a steady hand with that router!!
oh man, those wegdes to secure the wood in your jig is such a simple and great idea. i have a jig for cutting boards, and i would just re-screw in the sides. this is way better!
Right! I was like, why didnt i think of that? Lol
Very nice. Good to see things like this from the Jimmy camp. Shop hack for those who care: when I use a router I won't typically clamp the work piece to the bench, I have a scrap piece of carpet padding that will go between the work piece and the bench. This acts kind of like velcro, and keep the piece from moving around on the bench. Try it!
Can't wait, gonna see you on Saturday. Have a decade of questions to ask! Haha! Safe travels JD.
🐼 Big Bear Hugs from a 68 yr old grandma in Kirby, Texas, USA 🐼 ❤ 🎀 ❤
Wow! That was so satisfying to watch! I don't think I've ever seen anyone use a router to carve freehand without the base on it. Have a safe and fun trip!
Sign looks really good. Will be at Maker Central on Saturday. Hope to see you there.
I’ve been watching this on Instagram. Nice job. Have a great trip. Sorry I’ll be missing it this year. Obligations in California.
Brilliant, hope to see you on saturday at the show :)
Great job and love how you only used two power tools, and made something almost everyone can make at home, keep up the great work.
Honestly, just the spray paint on the wood is nice, but then taking up multiple notches with the hand carving is class.
Great sign. Have fun in England.
Aww, wish I could travel to Birmingham to meet you in person!
Gooood evening from central Florida! Hope everyone has a great night!
Looks great! I wish I could make it to see in person.
Well done - freehand router work without a base. Interesting! Thanks for posting, and thumbs up.
Amazing, Jimmy! Fantastic work! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Your last sign for Makers Central inspired me to do something similar for myself. I guess I need to carve something now. I think the most impressive thing about this one is you didn't accidentally plow through any of the smaller letters while freehanding the router. Something I'm sure I would have done more than once. Thanks for sharing!
You make it look soooooo easy🤗😎🤗😎
Love the look of the carving. Nice contrast. Great sheen on it too!
Good job mister Jimmy Diresta
Fabulous how you do so much with so little tooling & so much intrinsic skill, a delight to watch. Thank you for sharing!
Safe travels my friend!
Just got tickets - see you there 👍
Carving and engraving by hand takes skill and patience. It just takes so damn long....
Enjoy your trip and Birmingham...
Awesome Jimmy!
Love your sign builds
"Jimmy Diresta the Human CNC" would be the title of your olde timey freakshow train car.
"Step right up and see the man who can carve with computer precision! No bit too sharp! No wood too hard! The amazing man with servos for arms!"
Very beautiful job there Jimmy. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. Keep Making. God Bless.
Absolutely. I taught myself basic relief carving after viewing your skull belt buckle video IIRC.
Amazing as usual. 💪💪💪
Wish I could meet you at the show but too busy this weekend sadly. Another year hopefully. Have fun over here!
When the commercial is way louder than the show it’s on purpose. 😂
Man thats some precision work, I’d be scared to do it as one wrong move and you are toast and would have to start over.
I am surprised, but happy that Jimmy is endorsing an Italian tools manufacturer
See you there Jimmy
Beautifully done sir.
Fantastic relief carving Jimmy! Have a great time at Makers Central! Wish that I could attend. 👍👍
Mad Exacto skills 👌 Thanks Jimmy, have a good trip! 👍
So cool to have the experience and skill with the router like that. I would be terrified without the base ha. Love the finished project.
Tell us more about that coffee cup, and nice sign but Derek has nothing to worry about.
I love it's texture!
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻good thing ya sent an email cause it sure wasn't in my subscriber feed........
Damn man you move that exacto like you been a pin stripper all your life…….smooth 😎
Nice 👍I wish all of you a lot of fun there. Hopefully I can manage it next year to visit Makers Central. Cheers
Reminds me of the cheers sign 😂
Sorry I’m in Scotland 🏴 but I hope you enjoy the uk buddy 👍🏻👍🏻🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
I will be at Makers Central for the first time as a first-time "maker", hope to at least catch a glimpse!
great stuff!
Beautiful! Cant believe you didnt go postal listening to the router that long!
Awesome! I really like the look!
Great job Jimmy no CNC needed with a little patience and skill
We use adhesive backed cream RUBBER
MAT ,same layout process , but
Sand Blast board, the cream rubber adhesive mat repells sand blast
Prosses much fast time .
Peel off rubber mat after sandblasting
Then paint raised surfaces protected by
Rubber matting .
Then over spray entire board with
Clear polyurethane.
Or brush on thick coats of polyurethane.
I hate to be redundant but , It was Educational and Entertaining as always. Be safe over there
Love it - I bet your hands were aching after all that chisel work. Cheers Jimmy & thanks for sharing another great video. See you at the N.E.C this weekend ;)
Wow i would like to see some aussie ironbark woodwork if you can get your hands on some..nice work by the way..
good stuff, ,, I might even be able to do that /... thx Jimmy
Excelente Jimmy. Me gustan los trabajos artesanales mucho más que los realizados en pantógrafo.
beautiful work to see
So cool
Great work !!
(BTW: you might want to check your audio levels when recording the voice insert... it was pretty distorted)
Welcome to the midlands pal
Your router skills are top level 💪🏽
Why did it take me this long to realize that a bright light from the SIDE was the answer to seeing better?!?! 🤯 no more cussing my head or arms....
Good
Pretty cool. I did something similar with a drilling rig.
Jimmy is over here freestyling with Chuck Norris's Dremel😂😂😂
I think I would have left just a little bit more of the black paint on the lettering.
Good job 👏 👍
Safe travels Brotha 🤙🏼
I'd love to give you a proper manicure because your hands are spectacularly talented!!! 💅🏻💅🏻💅🏻🖐🏼🖐🏼🖐🏼
I know you mention it, but if people really knew how down to the wire it was.
Nice.
I wouldnt have sanded off the black paint...I think it would have been a more striking design with it....
letters could have been of different color to stand out better workman ship looks very good
Never knew you were ahuman cnc!😁 Awesome work, have a save trip to Europe! 😊 And welcome to our side of the pond.
Safe travel man! 🤘🏼😍
انت فنان محترف 💖
Can we just take a minute to appreciate the fact that Jimmy did this less than 10 hours from boarding a Transatlantic flight when most of us would be busy packing and worrying about "what am I forgetting"???
🤣🤣🤣❤️
Oh Man, top
Don't have high expectations of Birmingham Jimmy, its the hell hole of the UK.
Holy cow..no CNC !👍👍
Human CNC 👌
Not too bad bad I would prefer brass top layer.
Great Sign Jim....I'm here for the comments on using the router without the base...😉😂😂👊🏻👊🏻 Safe Travels to you and Derek! 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
Carved wooden signs seem to be a bit of a lost art. There used to be a sign shop locally that made a lot of them that you could see around town, but a lot of the signs seem to have rotted away, the shop is no longer in business, and there are just too many cheaper ways to make a sign now so wood signs are still out there but becoming more rare.
I know you're careful but free handing that router makes my palm sweaty.
Adorei jimmy 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
Hey Jimmy, the design transfer onto the board seems to be a bit tedious... what about using something like heat transfer paper/prints like you would for a t-shirt design? Then you could just print mirrored with a few fiducial points to align them, use an iron to transfer the design, and eliminate all of the fine X-acto blade work
This was basic way to transfer lasting image. Many other techniques will created a vague image that can wear off during work
