Effector in FL has a "lofi" preset that has a nice bitcrush effect. Not as much control as a proper bitcrusher but I do like the kind of sound it gives you, mixing the dry/wet and doing a bit of eq after gives a cool texture on top
There's a free bitcrusher I love: Tritik Krush. It's not trying to emulate an SP1200 or anything like that, but I just love it for what it is. It's free, and it's special trick is the internal modulators. You can set them on a Hz rate or synced to your host bpm, and then dial in an amount of modulation for each of the main parameters, and there's a filter section and dry/wet to calm down the rough edges if you want. Tons of control, but very quick and easy to use. If you want to pay for the Pro version then that gets even better with yet more effects.
I have a bunch of these, I like Plogue Chipcrusher. I'm kind of a fanboy because I appreciate how meticulous the dude is in making his other emulation plugins bit-perfect, on his channel you can see the rigs he's built to reverse engineer old chips. I think Decimort might have presets that make more sense for emulating samplers, Chipcrusher does have an SP1200 preset but it's more oriented to emulating old computers and consoles, but I just trust that he actually knows what's going on besides simple bit- and samplerate reduction. RC20 might be a better buy though because it also has the other effects, and SP950 and RX950 are good at doing their one thing, if it's the thing you want.
for people who own both live and maschine...you can use maschine as a plugin and use its effects...changing the sound engine to mpc60 and then detuning a sample you can get some pretty good results it also has a sp1200...im sure everyone knows just thought id throw that out there
Rx 950 from inphonik and decimort 2 have my favor for long time, the new baby sp 1200 from inphonik is also very great on stab chord and drums chop it give you something special.
the Ghz Vulf compressor has a default setting called 1200 crunch, thats pretty good. Ive found pushing the input volume/freeze and resample/ and or stacking multiple on top of each other get an accurate result. Very close.
I love the sound of the SP1200, but I'm kind of surprised people aren't into the gang of other samplers Emu produced at that time. e6400 had an amazing sound and crazy filters! Someone should make that plugin 😂
Boosting the input gain is the secret sauce with Decimort 2. Choose your preset (MPC60 or SP12) then boost the input to your liking. Sounds excellent on drums
YOO decap can you please do a video explain lossless/spatial audio, I'm confused on what this is and have been trying to figure it out. this would be supppperrrrr helpful!!!!
Oh yeah this and the new inphonik sp 1200 emulation give you that beefy and crunchy drum, i try with my own drum record and chop from my favorite album, it give you a lot of punch.

Yeah krush is my go-to for this kind of effect, and they have a great overall distortion effect in the plugin too.
The rx950 is good for this.
That tapeboy joint is dope too. 👍🏾
the updated izotope vinyl has sp-12 bit reduction. it also models sampling at 45 speed and pitching the sample down for extra artifacts
