  • This is the third part of my review of the Eduard Tempest (kit 82121). In this episode, I complete the basic construction of the model and you can see how successful Eduard was at capturing the look of a Hawker Tempest.

    Eduard kits look great in the box. Building them is a different matter.

    This type of review is More useful than normal types of reviews I've seen and actually helpful in building the kit. I have just ordered it knowing what I need to "fix". Thanks.

      Painting models is over-rated anyway.

    Your pride and accuracy that you put into modeling is actually very inspiring.

    Hands down the best kit review I've ever seen. All the "here's the sprues" reviews pale in comparison.

    I know japanese giant robot kits aren't exactly up your alley but I would love to hear your take on their build quality/fitment from the perspective of a veteran modeler.

      BTW, you know Eduard is releasing a P-51 in a few months. I’d personally love to see your attention turned to that kit.

    Luckily, I think that Eduard is one of the few manufacturers that listens to their customers. I built this kit after watching these videos and while the wing was the same, the landing gear bits in my kit did not present the same issues you highlighted here.

    Hello Paul !! Good work you put a lot of effort into your work that I like, I try to follow your example and try that quality that you give your models. Congratulations and I'm looking forward to the upcoming videos. Regards !!!

    What a thorough and interesting review! Not many people would take a pricey kit like this and build it without painting just so other modelers can benefit. Thank you.

      Thank you, I didn't mind the expense, but because of the wing issues, it was a little more time consuming than I had originally envisioned. I hope it motivates others to do this type of a review.

    A very technical review. Eduard, being such a great manufacturer of kits, and specially their PE and resin additions; youd think their own produced models are tops, but sadly to see such flaws on what is considered Top of the line modelling..thanks for your informative work...best wishes

    Great review and very helpful. I built the older tool Eduard kit and converted it to a Mk.II Tempest early version. It turned out pretty well, but it was a fiddly build. Looks like the new tool still has some issues.

    Great review, honest,and based on actually building it! I have the series 2 kit, fully agree. Bit of a hasty release from the looks of it , shame because its a stunning kit, Eduard dropped the ball with thius kit . only they know why .................

    I get the impression that this kit was rushed in design a bit. A few years ago they got the scale wrong of a bf 109g6. But it won't stop me building mine. Thanks Paul.

    This is why I avoid Eduard. Yes I agree they do build out to make a decent kit, BUT I rather spend my time researching the aircraft and picking a pilot's plane to represent than being pissed off every time I go to work on the kit. Cleaning up seam lines or slight flashing I expect. To engineer corrections, that's not what I pay for. Thanks again for the vid and amazing building tips.

      Because I do so much scratch building, engineering, fit and shape are the most important ... all the gingerbread is extra. And I think Tamiya usually does a pretty good job of getting things to fit and generally look like what it's supposed to be. I just received the latest Tamiya Spitfire MKI, so I'll have to see how it goes together ... just looking in the box, I'm not thrilled at how they broke the parts down.

  • @hawx1987

    Why Eduard Spitfire is older and incredibly perfect, with no craps,why now there is so much fails in the newest kit!!?

  • @laMoort
    @laMoort Před 5 lety +2

    a true review, which is unfortunate for eduard of course for what the series clearly revealed this does not feel like a kit that's designed and mfctred in the year 2018, but more like a po* italeri from the 80s. shame...

  • @farklefuster6876
    @farklefuster6876 Před 3 lety

    Don’t the kit manufacturers build a couple of test kits BEFORE the kits are released?
    Seems like if they want to avoid reviews like this they would be a bit more cautious.

  • @gavinblackburn3105
    @gavinblackburn3105 Před 5 lety +4

    For it's price point (£40) it seems like a terrible kit, i will skip this one, sorry eduard .
