I think Sam Is Actually The Long-Lost Princess Issa and kora rescued her when her adopted father killed the king to take over and blamed kora for killing the king , the queen and the princess and thats why kora is the most wanted fugitive in the galaxy
One subtle thing I loved is they let there lead actors keep there accents, it demonstrates subtly that everyone is from different parts of the universe
Hopefully the sequel pulls it together this just felt like character intro after intro after intro

@@user-x7dc2pq7n dune also feels like a lot of setup but I think the difference in rebel moon is that this was originally one movie and they just split it into two parts. It's impossible to get everything in 1 part because of that.
@@KelzActually and in that movie you get pay offs with the set ups. This movie was all set ups. Like I said before, Dune is also part 1 of a story that was split in half. When did I say everything has to be in part 1?
That's the Synder formula. Introduce a bunch of edgelord characters with terrible dialogue and recycled backgrounds and then completely skip the middle act of the film which should focus character development and instead jump right to slow mo rilddled action shots that ultimately do not pay off.
They should have just rolled out Snyder’s actual cut cause this felt like it was missing much.
That's why Snyder is a bad filmmaker. If your movie needs an extended cut to make sense, you don't know how to tell a good story with a cohesive narrative.
It would be just as shit.

See this is why I love you guys, you dont go into movies just looking to be negative, you know how to enjoy a movie and just have fun. I love this movie. Everyone knew we were getting a setup movie for this first one but people wanted to act shocked... The second one is described by Zack as a "war" movie. I cant wait for it and to watch your reaction to it!
Even as a setup movie it's trash, A New Hope is a setup movie too, like c'mon my guy lift your standards Zack needs to do better

Visuals were great,it sucks that Ray Fisher's character died,he was really cool.I really like Charlie Hunnam in the movie,too bad he turned out to be a traitor :( Hope we get to see more of the robot played by Anthony Hopkins in Part Two :)
It was a ten out of ten for me. Yes it had it's flaws but I enjoyed it, I am looking forward to Rebel Moon Part 2 : The Scargiver.

The expression "for what it was" is the telltale sign the person knows deep down it wasn't all that good...

Today's the day I enjoyed this movie 4 times. I still can't wait for Part 2 and the extended cut.
The first part of the novelization is out and it is hardcore violent and Kora does have a sex scene that was alluded to in the film. The first issue of the prequel comic comes out 1/10 and it’s the story of the Battle Axe siblings. It’s 4 issues.
It's good to start the new year with you two. I like the world building here. Not sure if I'd call it good, but mostly because it felt like it didn't quite live up to its potential.

I enjoyed part 1 so looking forward to part 2
I did think all the way through you could see every beat where it was pitched as a Star Wars story.
But I enjoyed it as it was. Not perfect - what is - but still fun.
Personally, this was a good film. The only thing that would have made it better was if it was broken down into a series. Certain characters should have lasted much longer. In a series, the betrayal would have been much more effective if it had happened further into the story. Secondly, Blood Axe should have made his sacrifice later on. He was too formidable to be taken out so early. Ultimately, a series would have given this more time for the audience to connect with the characters and actually feel a lot more emotion.
I keep saying Snyder should make TV shows or mini series. If he wants to tell longer stories, then use the more appropriate medium for it.
It's great you gentlemen watch Rebel Moon, ignoring the bad, negative reviews and judge the movie for yourselves. Dope review and reaction and Rebel Moon is a great, awesome film that is pure EPIC and gets better every time you watch it.

The Rebel Moon Snyder cut comes out right after the second film is out on Netflix and then the new cut of part 2 comes out. Its suppose to be his true vision, on those longer movies. I cant wait to see Rebel Moon 1 and 2 Snyder cuts.
But why didn't he release his true vision in the first place? Netflix is famous for allowing its talent to have creative control, and not putting limits on runtime or rating. I suspect that they nerfed this version purely as a marketing tactic for the "Snyder Cut." They should have just put their best foot forward with this one. I LOVED the trailer and was sadly let down. Not a terrible film, just thoroughly mid.

@@Micoke12 it seems to be a recent pattern with him; I honestly wonder if some of it is to put out what he thinks is good, gather audience feedback, and then try to fix/improve his films after that but call it 'what he wanted to do the whole time.'

I've watched a lot of movies and a lot of television and in everything I've ever watched, I can't remember many times where a movie is hated on so much. This movie was deemed garbage by critics and the general public months before it was released. Before anyone ever even got to see it, it was deemed bad. I swear it feels like it was/is a trend to absolutely trash this movie in any possible way at any given opportunity. The character development is bad and while it shouldn't take a directors cut to fix the movie, it very well could. The visuals were there, the monster design and CGI was fantastic outside of maybe one scene (the tentacles) other than that everything else looked very good. The score was there, the cast was there. There is clearly a vision and a story there. I don't know if it was a budget thing or what, in comparison to a lot of big films, this movie was very low on a reported budget of only $83 million.
This movie has a glaring flaw and that being the character development. I believe everyone would be singing a very different song if the characters were fleshed out more. This movie really is not anywhere near as bad as its made out to be. Its just a meme to say it's the worst movie ever.
It's just extremely... derivative.
Its not the worst movie ever. But the lack of character development kills the movie. It starts super strong and then just falls apart once they start recruiting. Hard to overlook such a massive flaw. Zack is an incredible director, but the writing was just not there. And this is coming from someone who was HYPED for the movie. Honestly think the first trailer is one of the greatest trailers I've ever seen. I have some hope that part 2 will bring it together, but what we got so far was nowhere near the level of the trailer.
There were just as many idiots proclaiming it was excellent before the movie was out. Stop the with conspiracy theories. People seem to go outside the movie to find excuse its weaknesses. The movie IS clearly shit.
No one judged the movie until critics saw it. The critics ACCURATELY described it as derivative of better films and lacking *any* character development.

A key one is Seven Samurai and all the other movies/shows/etc. that took that borrowed from it, but they all did it better than this movie, even the cheesy Battle Beyond the Stars. I mean, I can overlook not getting character backgrounds/stories until Part 2 if they at least had some fun banter & infighting among all the recruits so they later start to work together but that's all missing here.
The critics were right and another "Snyder Cut" is not going to save this mess. At best, it's just a collection of scenes taken from older, better movies. Snyder needs to put the pencil down and let someone else write his movies.
Agreed! Remarkable director, shit writer. Visually stunning and creative action shots. I was even interested in the world building was good and overarching story, but the character development was garbage. Very poorly executed script.

Bro, this movie literally feels like the writing of a 12 year old. It just steals ideas from Star Wars, Dune and Firefly and doesn't even execute them well.
This is why You can't Listen to the Critics!!! I know they are looking for the Character Development and the World Building, but sometimes you just want so Action and a Good Butt Kicking!!!

Disney/ Star Wars took L for taking Zach Snhyder for not his pitch !
Great Cinematography. Some beautiful worlds and good costume design (except for the bad guy's obvious naziesqe uniforms). One-dimensional characters and no character development. Quick introduction to each character then they are just bench players. They have no growth and do not use the skills introduced. "Lightsaber" woman is introduced has an awesome fight and then stands in the background for the rest of the movie. Old General is introduced and then none of his skills for strategy or tactics are used and he is a background character. Prince is introduced and relegated to the background with no more growth.
The two most intriguing characters are not seen for the entire movie after being introduced in the beginning. The soldier that stood up to his brothers in arms to try and prevent the rape of the girl. What happened to him? People say he will appear in part 2, well that is pretty lame for part 1 though. Same with the robot voiced by Anthony Hopkins. It just disappears then reappears at the end with a crown and a spear with no context.
The main character monologues most of her past in the form of overdone slo-mo shots, not even done where they would be most effective. The main bad guy only seems to be dangerous against unarmed farmers with a weird club. Otherwise, there was nothing to make him stand out or be feared. The main capital ship is taken out by a spear by a guy who just met these people but decided to sacrifice himself.
Then to top it off. Snyder himself tells us we need to wait for the director cut because it will be a whole different movie. So basically he is telling us he released crap now so he can have a "Snyder's Cut" later. This one was already so boring, I struggled to stay awake and we have a part 2 to slog through. Now he wants us to watch through a longer director's cut version to get the real universe he intended, implying this release was a farce.
This is not the worst film out there and I am sure people can be entertained by it. But it is NOT the blockbuster original sci-fi universe everyone claims. It was a rejected Star Wars story after all. Not just influenced, Snyder wanted it to be a Star Wars story, so stop calling it original.
I would give this a 4 out of 10 or a 2 out of 5. It's mediocre and less so because he actually is telling us that the better one will be his director's cut. Then why even release this one!
