    Meadow Lark , Morning Dove , Killdear , Raven , all so beautiful as well. Even the sound of a rusty nail being pulled out of dry wood , Golden Eagle. Life is good if you slow down and listen . Great job, I could listen to many more .

      That's so true, James. We are surrounded by natural beauty, even in the cities, and all we need to do is slow down for a while and listen. There will be more videos in this series, so you can hear sounds from other parts of the world. Thank you for watching again this week!

    There is an error with the crow. There is no such species as “Common Crow”. This sound is from a Fish Crow. It is different from the classic “caw” of the American Crow. Both species are found in many parts of North America, but the Fish Crow is an eastern bird.

      That's such a good identification, Vernon! Apparently we all need to practice our bird sound identification skills. Except you, you seem to have this down. I need to run these videos by you ahead of time. :) Thank you for playing!

    I’m actually really happy that I got them all correct! I really need to brush up on my bird calls, but I guess I knew more than I thought I did! The soundscape graphics were really cool, that was a nice touch. Great work Steve!

      That's awesome, Harrison and Evan! These are common, but not the sounds everybody knows. Glad you were able to identify them all. I'm trying to develop some skills in this area, because I was curious about the bird sounds outside my window. There will be more videos in this series covering different continents, so get ready for some challenging ID's. Thank you for watching again this week!

    Awwww !!! 😍😍
    What a GREAT video and quiz.
    I'm a ardent bird lover and thought I'd do much better at identifying the birds with their sounds. I have to brush up on my sounds. Many of the sounds/ calls here were familiar to me but i didn't identify the correct bird with their sounds. Of course, I did correctly identify two of my favorites -- the American Crow & the Blue jay. I love all birds but crows are my FAVORITES. ❤
    I'm disappointed that I didn't correctly identify the red winged black bird, the house sparrow, or the red bellied woodpecker. I will brush up on my bird call identifications.😁😁 GREAT VIDEO !!👍👍
    Thanks for posting.

    Trying to identify one that’s common in at least Northern California and chirps like an incessant hammer strike. It’s so brief and loud it’s almost like a percussive whistle. Most summer days especially at dawn. Without end. My favorite bird ever.

    • @BioBush
      @BioBush  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi Orbital Jellyfish! I'm not yet familiar enough with the birds of Northern California to help. Xeno-canto has a really helpful tool where you can listen to the bird sounds of a given area - maybe that will help you narrow it down. xeno-canto.org/explore/region If you are able to identify it, I would love to hear the answer! Thank you for watching!

    • @BioBush
      @BioBush  Před 2 lety

      Hi Ashley! In the late spring/summer you'll see a lot of fledgling (small, scruffy feathered) birds on the ground. They leave the nest with their parents, who bring them food until they finish learning to fly. Less common is a pre-fledgling bird (featherless) falling out of the nest, and the best course of action is to put it back in its nest. I hope that helps!
