    Rosie and I have had our Z-3100 over a year now. We have had it to Alaska and spent the winter off grid in Arizona. We have had a few issues and the fine people at Brinkley have taken care of us. We have done a bunch of modifications. I installed drawers in the cabinet to the right of the stove as well as drawers where they put the garbage cans. We have added shelves to the pantry and shelves in the bedroom closet. Outside I put four Battleborn batteries and a 3,000-watt inverter. On the roof I put and extra 370-watt solar panel. All in all, we are very impressed with Brinkley, and we have had a lot of campers in our 53 years together. Burlington Bill busking on the road and here on you-tube.

      Sounds like you’ve added a lot of great mods! Glad you haven’t had too many problems with it. That’s good to know!

      @@campinwiththeconfers Rosie and I had a Solitude by Grand Design. We were fighting so many issues and then when Winnebago took over and some key people left the support ended. The frame flex problem was it for us. We are in our mid-seventies and want to enjoy our travel. I don't think the price is that bad. Burlington Bill busking on the road and You tube.

      @@burlingtonbill4687 interesting. The Solitude is the other model we are considering. We currently have a Reflection and haven’t really had many problems with it. And what we have had GD helped us out with. But we need something a little bigger. Our Reflection is 29 ft and only has one slide.

      @@campinwiththeconfers Rosie and I had a Reflection before the Solitude. We toured the plant and met all the owners at the time. We had pretty good luck with the unit and good backing from Micah and some of the others. The frame flex became a nightmare for GD. One bright light would be a young man named Austin Clark. Son of one of the owners Don Clark. He seems to really care. Good luck!

    Toni and I had a chance to go through one of these at a dealer show in San Diego and we fell in love with this 5th wheel. The only thing I wish they had was an option to take that back wall sofa out and make that a desk for a workspace. Starting to wish I had bought a 1 ton truck after seeing this rig.

    • @campinwiththeconfers
      @campinwiththeconfers  Před rokem

      We are also in love with it. I think we are going to wait a year and see how they shake out. We knew when we upgraded the truck to go big so we would be ready when our full time camper came into our lives. This might just be it.

    So we almost pulled the trigger on a z3100 a few weeks ago. They are such nice 5th wheels. Just could not see spending that money at this point in our lives. Awesome rigs though. One day we will have one.

      @campinwiththeconfers  Před rokem

      Yeah the price is a bit much, plus we are concerned with them being a new company. Right now the plan is to hold out for two more years, see how the rig holds up, customer service etc then we will consider again. It sure is pretty though, and so functional!

    It's a top contender for us but there's definitely room for improvement.
    Azdel on interior as well, not just exterior.
    6 point hydraulic auto leveling, not 4 point electric.
    Bench seat in shower.
    Dexter torsion axles or independent suspension.
    Full body paint.
    Better 5th wheel hitch
    Audio system or radio with outdoor speakers, didn't see that, no sound bar?
    Aluminum framed roof, not wood and use real plywood not tpo or whatever they use.
    But again, I'm sure they'll improve, great unit.

    Swap to a convection oven is not that simple. Clearance and venting requirements are different, you can easily overheat, and possibly start a fire as Grand Design found out. Should have asked about something basic like an entertainment center with radio, there isn't any. Bench without a cushion? Seriously? Side by side doors on fridge make for the least efficient space utilization, and there is no reason for it. Furion ac's are not known for being quiet. Brinkley is still using the same crappy tank sensors as everyone else instead of upgrading to through the wall type. It's pretty good, but they haven't gotten this camper quit right yet.

    • @campinwiththeconfers
      @campinwiththeconfers  Před rokem

      You have made some really great points here! I could care less about the convection oven, but the tank sensors seem like that would be an easy fix. Thanks for sharing!
