Was reading over them again looking for info, and was thinking the same thing. Would love to. Maybe after I close up one these series I'm currently working on. Love the continuation of their story.

My understanding that the infected die of starvation or injury rather than the virus itself. The virus only goal is to spread so all activity is geared toward that end, to the exclusion of food and self preservation. I might be wrong though, I don't think this is ever stated anywhere
Well, after some research into this, amongst other media (comics, interviews w creators, etc) you are correct for the most part. Eventually, the virus WILL kill you. Same as rabies, can't eat, drink, no self sustaining behavior. So rabies doesn't kill you either by that rational, you die from the symptoms. Funny how a lot of scientists are on board w the "viruses aren't actually alive" theory. Makes sense. Living things have self preservation instincts, viruses don't. They kill their host, eventually killing themselves.
