I wish you the best @kimberlykolanek895!🙏
Thank you for taking the time to do this video. I am learning to walk normally again
You're welcome @beverlyjardine5511! Wish you the best!🙏
Just had a total knee replacement and loose bone removal for the 2nd time in my right knee last year and on Monday and it's now Friday, still in severe pain( 1st TKR though)!! I'm praying it goes away soon! But, I have been doing my exercises and trying to walk. Crazy amount of pain 😞 I really appreciate these kind of videos, thank you so much for sharing 🙏❤️
You're welcome @Vettevetteg. I wish you the best!🙏
It is so painful😢.
@@kimberlykolanek895 I understand what you mean. I usually don't like taking medications but in cases like this, it might be helpful. Doing the stretches less intense and more frequently can help with the pain. 🙏
Thankyou for a very helpful video!

THANK YOU! I had a very good physical therapist, in whom I have every confidence. However I am constantly looking for ways to do home physical therapy without fancy equipment in a very small place. Your videos are EXCELLENT! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Thank you KY! I appreciate it. I have a lot of patients who are looking for the same as you. I like exercises that are easy to do at home and straight to the point. Nothing fancy. It just works. I don't believe in having to reinvent the wheel. Wish you the best in your recovery.🙏
I think these excerises will do me good thank you
I hope it helps you Barbara. Would love to know how it goes.
I will definitely try these exercises.
Would love to know how it goes for you Marlene.
@@restorepluspt So far it's working. I will do more tommorrow.
I just had knee surgery done yesterday so it is good information about the exercise after the surgery thanks so much
You're welcome @InderjitTank-qi3sf. Wishing you a speedy recovery.🙏
Thank you. Yes I think this set of simple exercises will help me stop limping and make me feel more safe in walking. Right now I just walk pretty slowly. Thank you for these tips.😊
You're welcome Eileen. I hope it helps. It is part of the recovery process that you start off walking slowly. It is similar to learning to walk again when we were toddlers. With time as your strength and balance gets better, your walking speed will increase as well. Forcing it now will only make you prone to falling which you want to avoid. Wish you the best🙏
I never said or sent this personal response! Stop bs- ing people. This is pure crap.
Bs. Bs bs. I never said or sent this response.

Great! Hope it helps Mascha.
Thank you for help, this was beneficial, I'm not at the cone stage just yet

I am watching your videos regularly and are very helpful.I got my BKR 4 months back. flexión extensión and walking are good but still problem with climbing stairs up n down.
Thank you @harjitlongia1611. I suggest focusing on strengthening and balance exercises which are very important in negotiating stairs. You can check out my video on climbing stairs and other strengthening exercises. Hope these help.
Excellent. Am going to try this. I am on my 3 rd week post op TKR
Thank you @bibiabdullah2850. I wish you the best.🙏
Very helpful. 7weeks post op TKR and still limping due to pain. Will absolutely try these exercises!
I'm happy to help @Cynthia-je9sd. I wish you the best.🙏
Thanks for this video. I had meniscus repair 10 weeks ago and I can already walk but still limping. On prolonged walks i.e. a few hundred meters, my thigh and calf muscles start to stiffen and I start to experience some piercing pain in my right knee. Will try to start to integrate these exercise with the current exercises my physical therapist taught me.
You're welcome @Rik_Tolentino. I hope it helps. I also recommend doing some soft tissue work and stretching your quads and gastrocs if you are not yet doing so.
Thank you for
I got my right knee replacement
And when I walk I feel limping
I wish I can follow ur advice
Try these exercises Talat. Also do other strengthening exercises for the knee and hip abductor. Those will help.
I had my left tkr Dec 16. I'm coming up to my 2 month mark.
I'm only at 89°. I had a set back, due to the sciatica nerve.
Your video is good to know.
I'm doing my best, I fear scar tissue sets in. I appreciate this video.
Marcy
I'm to hear about your situation Marcy. There is still hope for you to improve your flexion. Watch my other videos on bending your knee after knee replacement and do them as often as you can to improve your chances. I wish you the best. 🙏

Thank you so much for sharing this information. I will try these for my knee replacement recovery and appreciate the advice! I can walk far, but I am working on walking NORMALLY. I mutter to myself as I walk, “walk like a normal person”. My husband says it makes me sound like an alien trying to fit it. LOL LOL He says I walk okay but have to stop talking to myself. 😂
You're welcome @kittygailey5028. The exercises will help you walk better than talking to yourself in my opinion. 😊
Very beneficial. Can’t stand that limp.. I know the results of limping. Very important that I do my ending part. Very good video
Thank you @TheRaejonette. Happy to help. I wish you the best. 🙏
Please make a content for femur fracture. Or how to stop limping after femur fracture
Will take note of this Jazper. Thank you. For the meantime, if you are allowed full weightbearing after femoral fracture, you can follow the same exercises in this video. Similar principle applies. Hope this helps.
Weight shifts and marches are good for sure. Had both my femurs operated on.
Femur fracture cant stop limping the leg is now a little shorter than the other leg I wear a adjust a lift in my shoe only helps alittle
Thank you very much for this video, it's really helpful. It's really a STEP towards my recovery HAHA!
But can you do a video for running, I can't stop limping towards to the knee where the surgery is performed while running and I also land always on my forefoot. Hope you can help! Thanks a lot!
You're welcome Zendama. Happy to hear it helps. I will keep your suggestion on my list. Subscribe to our channel so you can see when it comes out.
Thank you, I learned new stuff. I've had both knees done. One in nov. 7th then other july 26th.
But 1st one was doing good, then when other side went out so I was depending on leg with 1st replacement.
When I stand, I hold position for second or two to make sure which one I can put weight on.
When I try to sleep same thing, the 1st hurts as bad as 2nd. I've got to get this right. I own and run a business. I've got to get back to 100%.
I'm sorry to hear this @user-sm8ft3tu1f. I know what you mean since I have my own business as well. You most probably overused the first one because the second one did not do too well. That causes inflammation on the first one and made it worse. Permanent solution is to get the second TKR better so the first one will not have to compensate too much. Also address the symptoms on the first one such as inflammation and pain. Make sure to work on the strength and range of motion on both knees. Wish you the best.🙏
Knee Sequence Exercises
1) Weight Shifting
2) Balance on 1 leg
3) High knee lifts
4) stepping over cones
I am going to try these exercises. I have a had a total right knee replacement. I will be six weeks out 14 December. I am still limping and using a walker.
I wish you the best @TheSimandlandDunnTeam! Try the other strengthening and stretching exercises I shared as well. The all work together to help you in your recovery.🙏
Hope you enjoyed this week's video! Which of the exercises will you be working on? Comment down below!
I apologize for the error in the closed captioning. It should be limp not limb. I'm sure no one wants to lose a limb 😂.
Sir can you do a video regarding " How to stop limping after hip replacement surgery"
I had Total knee replacement surgery done 30th November last year and the back of the knee is sometimes stiff. The 18th October I'm having Total knee replacement surgery on my left knee maybe I slept on my back to soon. I subscribed to your channel. I will sleep for the next 9 mths on my back starting tonight. Marlene, Geneva, Switzerland
@@user_lvj the approach and the exercises are similar for hip replacement. You can follow the exercises in the video as well. Hope this helps. Sorry I didn't see this sooner.
@@marlenewyngaard9313common reasons for stiffness on the back of the knee are: tightness of the hamstrings or swelling on the back of the knee (baker's cyst). Stretch your hamstrings daily and if the back of the knee is swollen, ice it. That will help with the inflammation. Hope this helps.
@@restorepluspt thank you so much
Thank you so much for ur assurance to b able to walk without limping after knee surgery Just had a hip replacement but limping when I walk. Will have to go for knee replacement as well.Knee on the surgery side does not say well and painful too. Will my walk improve after that?
You're welcome @pamparoy416. I'm sorry to hear you're going through this. It is possible to walk normally (without limp) after a hip and knee replacement. For the hip replacement, make sure to strengthen your hip abductors as well as your balance and coordination. You can follow my videos to help you recover from your knee replacement. I wish you the best. 🙏
Hi My name is Keren and I am a 73 year old woman living in Sydney Australia. I had a TKR on my R knee almost 5 years ago and a revision (to put in a larger spacer behind the kneecap) 18 months ago. I have walked with a limp ever since the first surgery. 4 days ago I had another surgery to release the ITB below the knee and also had some of the patella removed. I am still in a lot of pain from this latest surgery, but am keen to start doing these exercises when I feel I can. Any other tips or comments would be appreciated. I am very depressed about all the surgeries and the work I have put in over the past few years seemingly to no avail. I found this video nice and easy to follow and hopefully, when the pain subsides from this latest operation, I will benefit from following your sequence of exercises.
Dear Karen, I'm sorry to hear about what you went through. Aside from these balance exercises, make sure you focus on the strength ad range of motion of your knee. I shared exercises on how to do those in other videos. Keep in mind also that because of all the surgeries you had, your walking may not be perfect but with continued effort, it will be better.🙏I hope this helps.
I will try them. 9 weeks after tkr. Walking with cane mostly still but want to walk without. For me I think it's mostly stiffness and confidence.
Hope these exercises help Christine. You can watch my other videos about gaining more knee flexion and extension. You want to have at least 90 deg of flexion and 0 deg of extension. Confidence is a big factor. Repeating these exercises will help with the confidence part. Would love to know how it goes.
I agree 11-wks post op TKR, gonna try these exercises, I’ll give an update,
Thanks for your video. I see may people here are very early in after their knee replacement/other surgery. I had a knee replacement done last May, so it's about my 10th month after surgery. My walking is not very normal. I feel stiff and I do limp. Afraid to fall. MY PT was ok but I had a physical therapist who said I did not push myself at home. I was, to the point that I was exhausted. I had a knee manipulation done in July because of scar tissue. I went from 91 degrees (at 6 weeks after surgery ) to 121 dogs after I was done with PT---in September. So my recovery was very slow, but I really could not bend that leg. Sometimes I wonder if I did the right thing--when I could have had a second opinion, for a torn mesnicus. Maybe the knee implant was not really what I needed done. But I can't. change this now, and I have to walk more confidently and without that limp. Thanks again.
Dear @amyr3285, thank you for sharing this. I can see based on what you shared that recovery is slower than what I usually see but everyone is different. Everyone's body heals differently. Other medical conditions affect this as well. The positive there is you eventually got to 121 deg and that is great. Aside from that, you have to continue working on your strength and balance to have a chance of getting rid of the limp and to feel safe when walking. I wish you the best.🙏
@@restorepluspt Thanks so much. You’re right. A friend has no swelling at her knee after the same procedure and mine is still swollen but less than it was. I am continuing exercises at home for this and have recently begun therapy for descending stairs, at a closer facility. Hopefully I will improve.
Thank you for your help
Happy to help @kastoorikaranth22!
I can do most of the exercises in the progression you shared. I will work more on the last two exercises. I do feel moments where my new knee feels unstable and I have to hold to something to keep it from collapsing. It feels like some muscles around my knee are still weak. I do feel encouraged because it seems like all I have to do is keep working to fix my limp.
Hey Sonya, if your knee buckles, I recommend strengthening your quads more. You can look at my other videos about knee replacement or quads strengthening and do the exercises to build up your quads more. I also recommend watching the terminal knee extension video I created. Doing that will help with the buckling a lot. Practice is the key to getting rid of the limp. Hope these help.
@@debbiec6216 I'm sorry that you are going through so many things. In my experience, more problems make recovery more difficult. I don't say never but it is difficult and requires work and time for you to have a chance on walking normally. You have to correct the imbalances to be able to do this. Which muscles are weak and which areas are tight. wish you the best.🙏
I must improve my Gait while walking around
Hello Sir
I am doing this exercises. It is very effective. Can you suggest me some more exercises for balancing while walking.
Thanks a lot

I am 73 years old and had my first knee replacement 2 yrs ago. I had my other knee replacement two weeks ago. I heal quickly with minimal pain, however, I have limped for over 20 years. Learning to walk without a limp has been the hardest part of my knee replacement journey. My goal is to return to Pickleball without the limp. Today I’m excited to begin your program. Thank you! 🌷
You're welcome @nancysheets8420. I hope it helps. Happy to hear the knee replacement is going well. Wishing you a speedy recovery.🙏
just be thankful you are still there...look at those less fortunate like the soldiers returning from the ME...but i hear you...
I had my knee surgery six months before but I still had limp I hope you advice help me I will try from today thank you so much.
Sorry to hear this Asiyah. Aside from these exercises, I recommend doing strengthening exercises for your knee and hip muscles especially the quads, glutes and hip abductors. Hope this helps.🙏
Thank you so much Reggie your advice are very encouraging me please help me and tell me what are those exercises. I am waiting for your reply.
Hi sir Thank you for such detailed information and action, it is very comprehensive. I had my patellar fracture 3 months ago and now for past 3 weeks,I started walking without any support. I limp, so I came across your video. My query is when I walk I put the weight on my heel of the fractured leg( left one) due to which it gets sore. I noticed that with my right leg I don't necessarily put all the weight on the heel. Now can you please guide me as to how can I get this normalised.
Hi Anushree. I'm sorry to hear that you fractured your patella. I am happy to know though that you are progressing. Walking has different phases. The stance phase (when you put weight on that leg) starts with heel strike (when your heel touches the ground). It should quickly and smoothly transition to foot flat (your whole foot in contact with the ground). Then you lift your heel off the ground. Normally, you should not be putting too much weight on that leg during heel strike and you should not be staying at that stage for a long time. You stay at midstance longer. Try practicing that rocker movement of the foot and see if that helps even out your gait. Would love to know how it goes.
@@restorepluspt thank you for the prompt response. I'll follow your instruction and update soon 🙂
Can you please advise can I do these exercises if I had double knee replacement I’m almost 1 month post op thank you
Good question Nancy. Yes. you can do these exercises even if you had bilateral knee replacements. Wish you the best.
I already mastered all those exercises after 4 months of my knee replacement but I still have a bad limp! Please help
I'm sorry to hear this Leticia. If you still have the limp after mastering these exercises, it is possible that your form is off/incorrect while doing the exercises. Or there is other imbalance that is causing the problem. I would like to invite you to join our private facebook group where you can learn a lot more on knee replacements. We will also be having a knee replacement challenge in 2 weeks where I can address more questions. The info will be in the group. Link is in the description.
Can you recommend a video for status post hip fracture with that intermedullary nail placement it feels like my post fractured hip. The leg is a half an inch shorter than my other. And I can’t stand limping.
I'm sorry to hear this @deannidyk-martinez7228. For leg length discrepancy, I suggest trying heel lifts to even out the leg length. That may help with the limping.
After bilateral TKR can we get ride of walking stick
Good question @mahasen153. Yes it is possible to get rid of the cane after knee replacement. To do that safely, you have to make sure you have good strength, range of motion and balance. I tell my patients to stop using their cane once they get rid of their limp. Hope this helps.
Enjoyed its below knee that feels sore what can I do for that
Good question @betinamcbride5121. It depends on what is causing that pain below the knee (examples are patellar tendinitis or degenerative joint disease just to name a couple.) You have to address that to get rid of that pain. I hope this helps.
7, months back I had tkr surgery. Why I cannot walk properly when I get up from sitting position.
I'm sorry to hear this @srabastisinha5994. It is hard to accurately say why. The most common reasons can be because of weakness on your leg muscles and stiffness on you knee. Either one or both can make it difficult to walk when you get up from sitting. Try this: move you leg (bend and extend your knee before getting up) this will help if the problem is stiffness. And work on strengthening your quads and hamstrings. You can check my channel for videos on how to do that. Hope this helps.🙏
👍👍👍
Thank you @masonwestling6406. Hope it helps.
Can’t see the cone exercise. There are captions covering it.
I'm sorry about that @arielpenn. I'm learning more as I go along making videos in the effort of making better ones that are helpful.
I had done my both knee surgery shall I do same exercise please help me thank you so much.
Hi Asiyah, aside from these exercises, I recommend doing strengthening exercises for your knee and hip muscles especially the quads, glutes and hip abductors. Hope this helps.🙏
I met with a accident with tibia fracture just under knees exactly 6 months ago i have the limping .how long will it take to walk normally
It depends JES. It's hard to tell without knowing all the information surrounding the injury. But usually for a tibial fracture, if everything healed well as expected, 6 months is enough time to walk without a limp.
Mine is a 40 year old injury .Had a surgery then .My gait was affected .Now after all these years,I have more difficulty walking .Are there excercises or any other treatment that can be done ?
I'm sorry to hear this @anilakunapareddi. There are a lot of exercises that you can do. It depends on what is causing the problem. If you can correct those tightness or weakness, you walking can improve. It is hard to tell without doing a more thorough assessment in your situation. I suggest seeing a specialist who can help you further. I wish you the best.🙏
I have had my acl reconstruction surgery in feb 2023 and since then I’m walking with a limp
Any possible reasons why is this happening
Good question @glen1890. I'm sorry to hear this. Without evaluating you it is more difficult to determine the exact cause. There are a few common reasons you are still walking with a limp. 1. You may and extension lag, 2. your quads may be weak, 3. your hamstrings may not be strong enough to stabilize your knee, 4. your hip abductors may be weak, 5. your balance and coordination may not be good. I do have videos on my channel that can help you address those issues. The most important part is determining the cause first. Hope this helps.🙏
Everytime I bent my knee I feel pain but sometimes I ignore the pain bcos I to walk
Sorry to hear this Duqueza. If this keeps up, I suggest seeing a specialist who can help you before it gets worse. Wish you the best. 🙏
I hv completed 12 weeks after my fracture of tebia febula at joint line with TKR. My knee flaxion is 90 degree with pain & swelling. Please suggest me what to do to increase flaxion and decrease swelling - stiffness. Thank you
I'm sorry to hear this @daxajoshi5566. For the swelling on the knee, use ice on the knee and elevate the leg. For the stiffness, do a lot of stretching exercises. Use heating pad on the quads can help with that as well. Check out the other videos in my channel under the total knee replacement playlist and you will see other videos where I showed how you can stretch your knee to get more flexion. Hope these help.🙏
I am so glad I found you! I had knee surgery on last Thursday but I am depending on the surgical knee when trying to walk. I start off walking with my surgery knee sid and then my good right leg with a limp like I am scared to bring up that right leg and nothing is wrong with my right leg! It's crazy! Can you tell me what's going on? Is it a mind thing? I don't start therapy until Monday.❤❤❤❤❤❤
@carolynpayne9778 since you just had the surgery, I do not recommend depending on it so it can have the chance to heal. I see this situation when both knees are bad and the person don't have a choice but to depend on the newly operated knee. If this is the case, then you have limited options. But if the right knee is good like you said, use it more for the meantime.
You will limp when you lift the good right leg because your body does not trust the newly operated leg yet. You most probably do not have the strength and stability yet on that leg. This is why your body will avoid putting weight on that leg or limit how long you put weight on it causing you to limp. Getting your operated leg stronger and more stable will improve your limp. Hope these help.🙏
I have Multiple Sclerosis, so I have terrible balance so some of these I can’t do some of these without a walker.
I'm sorry to hear this Rebecca. You can modify these exercises and use them with a walker so you can have as much or as little support as you need. The same basic principles still apply even to your condition. Hope this help. Wish you the best.🙏
Hello sir
I had a patella fracture and it has been 7 weeks post surgery. Now my docter has told me to walk but I am not confident and when I walk more swelling occurs
My doctor told me to walk more and not do any exercise
He said that walking more is the best exercise for recovery is this true as I watch many people on you tube saying they did a lot of exercises to gain strength in quad muscle as well as patella
Good question @jagroophundal7021. In my opinion, walking alone is not enough to build strength and improve range of motion. Walking is an efficient way of locomotion. It requires a small amount of strength and range. You need to do more to get the body to get stronger and more flexible. Once you start exercising and getting more strength, flexibility and balance, you will get more confident. Expect the swelling for a while. That takes more time to go away. I hope this helps.🙏
Please help o stop therapy in September I felt they was wasting my August I had to go under for the dr to bend it now its not bending all the way bk and I'm feeling the metal in my knee when i walk
I'm sorry to hear this Pamela. I suggest watching my other videos on how to bend your knee more. Follow the exercises I described and do them as often as you can. Let me know how it goes.🙏
When can we strait to climb let the stair the right way
Good question @user-ig6iw8vj5r. There is no specific time. When you have the range of motion, your leg is strong enough to support your weight and you have the balance to stand on one leg, you can start doing stairs the regular way. I hope this helps.
Sir I feel some thing checks me from walking from the back of knee area .i am in the fourth month post tkr.
Dear Achla, I didn't quite understand your question. Can you describe it more? If it is something in the back of the knee that is stopping you from walking, it most of the time is an inflammation of the baker's cyst. The cyst gets bigger and it prevents you from bending the knee effectively thus affecting your walking. If this is the case, I suggest icing the back of the knee to see if the inflammation will go down. Taking anti-inflammatories may also help if needed.
I have a trendeleburg gait ( waddle side to side ) , what kind of exercises could I do, to start walking normal ?
My right hip is Weak , It would be nice to get back to normal . Thank you !!!!
Good question @debbiec6216. Trendelenburg gait usually means the hip abductors are weak. Do exercises to strengthen them. I have some videos showing how to do that. Sidelying straight leg raise and clam shell exercises are good examples. I wish you the best.🙏
@@restorepluspt First off, Thank you for responding, I do appreciate it. Are there other exercises other than the "basis" exercises. I do sidelying leg raise, clam shells and several others. Thank you , Debbie
@@debbiec6216 You're welcome. I always like functional exercises such as squats with abduction loop, monster walks with loop above the knees or at the ankle level, and depending on what is the condition of your hip even doing some side kicks. If you have not done these, try them out and let me know how it goes.
@@restorepluspt only one issue , I can't do squats because I have knee issues ( both of them ) :( . You have been so much help , and I do appreciate . For exampling things to me . Some things I don't know a lot about , but I am learning as I go along .
I can do side kicks . I do exercise daily . I was thinking I need an MRI , but our insurance company will only start with Xray and than maybe MRI , ( always have to have approval for MRI with insurance company) .
All this hip and 2 knees issues is cause of an Car accident decades ago and it came back to haunt me :( . I am working on issue at a time , because it all becomes overwhelming . With this accident ,which wasn't our fault , the person who hit us was drunk and driving . We don't drink alcohol , never have . I end up having 2 broken legs ( full cast ) and fractured hip , spent 2 months in the hospital . after wards I had to teach myself how to walk again , which took over a year to do that . And it looks like I'll have to teach myself how to walk again and PT will help this time. I didn't have a PT , to teach me how to walk . I did everything myself . I was determined how to walk myself , it was very hard.
How long do the stiffness stay
Good question Aurea. It really depends on several factors: how your body heals, how much scar your body forms, how much you exercise and stretch the knee. Everyone is different and there is not definite timeline for this. What I see is the more you exercise, the faster you will recover your range and the faster the stiffness will go away. It can be a few weeks, a few months or in some cases, it never goes away.
Can Ffd 30 degree further flexion up to 120 degree fix by physiotherapy?
Hi @damodaranp7605. I am not clear with your question. If you can explain it further maybe I can help.
@@restorepluspt patient having fixed flexion deformity 30 degree with further flexion up to 120 degree after tkr.Can it fix by physiotherapy?
It's six weeks after my TKR, I love walking, but whenever I walk like 2000 steps the following day the new gets more swellen with increased lavels of pain. Again when I try to walk my family tell me l am limping.
Am wondering, what is it am doing wrong?
Good question @reenakblas2307. At 6 weeks post-TKR, you expect swelling to occur after walking. This is part of the recovery process.. The swelling persists sometimes up to a year after surgery. Continue icing and elevating the leg as these helps with the swelling.
As for the limping, you have to check if you have full extension and at least 90 deg flexion, and have good strength in your quads, hamstrings and hip abductors and good balance on 1 leg. If some of them are lacking, you will more likely have a limp. I hope these help. 🙏
What do I do w/ a burning sensation around the knee.
I am not to sure about the question @jackwillome2397. If you just had a knee replacement and have burning sensation around the knee, usually it is because of either the inflammation from the surgery or the from the nerves that were cut during the surgery. Both of them are unavoidable. More often the burning sensation is because of the nerve. For that I suggest doing a desensitization technique which is to rub the area for 5 minutes several times a day. Start with something soft then gradually progress to rougher textures as the burning sensation gets less. Hope this helps.🙏
I had a knee replacement 11 months ago than a hip replacement in the same leg all within 11 months of each other. My balance is really bad. I have gone for allot of PT and actually finished PT a week ago. I don’t feel my leg is as strong always feel like I am going to fall. Is there anything I can do for this.
I'm sorry to hear this Renee. Did the PT work on the thigh and hip muscles on that leg? If your leg does not feel strong, most likely it's not. My recommendation is to progress on strengthening exercises on the leg- hip, knee and even ankle muscles. I am not sure how much of this was done in PT. Aside from the strength, you have to work on balance exercises and get that leg trusting itself again. There is a neuromuscular component to this as well other than just strengthening part. I hope this can lead you in the right direction.
I had both knees done but my left leg is weak and has the limp. Also I get a pain that goes my left inner thigh pass my crotch to the bottom of my left glute. Is this normal in healing?
I'm sorry to hear this Aurelio. What you're describing is not expected in the recovery process of a knee replacement. A specialist may have to check your hip or your back to see what is causing that pain.
I have limping problem after femur surgery ten year ago. Can I get rid of this problem?
Good question @saritagautam2663. 10 years is a long time. It gets more challenging as time passes but it never hurt to try. I wish you the best.🙏
Thank you
Why knee is stiffening after surgery?
Good question @shahinakishwer3397. There are several reasons and here are the top ones: inflammation and swelling can cause the knee to be stiff, scar tissues, shortening of the tendons.
Because it is so painful walking I mostly use a walker for support but would like to eventually stop using the walker.
Sorry to hear this @alicederico1328. I understand what you are saying. Especially if the surgery is new, it will be painful for some time. The pain goes down in most cases as the body heals. When this happens, it will be more comfortable for you to transition to a cane. Wish you the best.🙏
Is it applicable on recovery after tibia fibula fracture?
Good question Dexter. The same principle applies when you are allowed full weightbearing on that leg. Hope it helps.
Is this also good for tibia fractured patient who limping too much..bone connectivity is completed
Yes @JayJsr. Since the bone healed completely already, you should be good to do these exercises. I wish you the best. 🙏
When was your surgery as I had this surgery and am also limping to much and trying to fix it ..thanks
I got femur fracture i stoped exercise for two months what happen to me my walking was little bit cross what can i do please🙏🙏
I'm sorry to hear this @jamunasenthilkumarsangeeth6944. If cross you mean your feet cross each other midline, I suggest strengthening your gluteus medius and stretching your adductors. I wish you the best. 🙏
Where do you get these cobes?
Hi @JK-oz9io. You can find a link to my equipment page in the description. You will find the link for the cones there. Hope this helps.
I got knee replacement in march but my inner stitch burst an had to restich 3 times ,i have to wait till the wound properly heal to start therapy, in 2 wks, i am limping .Do you think therapy will make me walk normal again
I'm sorry to hear this Carolyn. Your situation can make the recovery a little challenging but I still believe physical therapy can help you. There is no 100% guarantee but definitely worth a try. Wish you the best.🙏
Yes can you tell me if I should be squeezing your butt when I’m holding my knee up , please speak on the muscles I’m tightening
If I'm understanding your question correctly @user-cf2jo3vh2e, you don't have to squeeze your butt when you are holding your knee up. Put your weight on the leg that you have on the ground and I suggest focusing more on the knee that you are lifting up (hip flexor). Hope this helps.🙏
Are these effective after patella dislocation? My knee got dislocated 4 months back but still there is heaviness in right knee and normal walking is not there .
Good question @priaadii. Yes, these exercises can help your condition as well. And you have to determine what is causing the heaviness on the right knee. Usually it is because if swelling in the knee or weakness of the muscles surrounding the knee. You have address these issues to have a chance to get rid of your limp. Hope these he🙏lp.
Hey doc, can i also use this, since i have limp from femur fracture?
@alenkadric635 great question! Yes you can as long as you are cleared for full weightbearing. Wish you the best!
@@restorepluspt Thank you for answer doc!
Hi I had a lateral release on my right knee and I can't get to 90 degrees. Its been 8 weeks. Any ideas or suggestions for massage
Sorry to hear this Katrina. Without doing a thorough evaluation, I cannot give specific things to do. What I can suggest based on the procedure you had is to so cross friction massage on the area of the release. This will help if the limitation of your range is caused by scar tissue in the area. Doing some joint mobilization combined with stretching or heating the area can help too.
@Restore Plus Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation thank you, it's just not moving
I have my knee replacement for 4months, still walking limping and pain, what exercises can helps me. Please reply thanks...
Sorry to hear this @sweeliannah1615. These exercises can help. Aside from that, you have to look at what is still causing your pain. That can be causing you to limp. Also make sure that your muscles are strong enough to carry your weight. Check out my other videos that can help you in those aspects. Wish you the best!🙏
