@Karl Pilkington It's all the way through but it constitutes about 2 bars worth of music. The melody for the verses and chorus are completely different. I love Abba's Gimme Gimme Gimme but it is very, very different to Hung Up. So huge props to Madonna for taking an Abba riff and making it into an entirely new song. And, unlike Gimme, Madonna's not doing abjection and despair. Well of course not!

Yes. Madonna DID NOT steal from ABBA. She got permission from the songwriters (Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus) to use the sample to her own song.

There's an interview where Abba said they admire Madonna, they don't like samples but they let Madonna to sample their hit because they admire her and her music! They only let The Fugees and Madonna to use their songs!
Well it is not neccessary that each member of ABBA likes Madonna. Benny and Björn - the rights owner of ABBA like her. Mike Oldfield did an ABBA cover too with permission. but Scooter had to re-record a song with an abba sample and change the album which included the song.

Its not as if she makes a crazy amount like a hundred million from one album. Check out the top paid entertainers yearly and you'll see that while they make huge money that's everything they did for a year. And their entire life revolves around going from one thing to the next all day that either gets them paid or doing promotions which the long run get them paid also. So, if an artist made 40 million in one year what percent of that came from a new album and what percent came the things she was doing every other day, interviews pay amd they do them constantly, endorsements and investments make up a huge portion. If she made 15 million off the album does it make sense that she'd front millions for an intro to 1 of 12 songs. To me it sounds insane.

Sou filho adotivo, gay, gordo, afeminado e preto. Ter essas qualidades em uma cidade do interior de SP é único, e como toda criança LGBTQ+ a infância não foi fácil pra mim. Com tão pouca idade meus parentes debochavam dos meus trejeitos, do meu corpo, sempre com defeito e nunca exaltando as qualidades, até disseram que não era filho dos meus pais """"de verdade"""" por ser adotivo, então cresci muito sozinho e rejeitado, mas foi na música que eu encontrei a força para sobreviver. Com 9 anos de idade eu ouvia direto o CD pirata do Confessions, até desgastou de tanto que eu ouvia e dançava pois era a versão Non Stop e Hung Up logo de cara era a preferida, alguma coisa dentro de mim mudou, tanto que desde essa época eu sabia que eu era diferente. Na adolescência eu deixei meu cabelo crescer e alisava pois queria me sentir mais perto das divas pop, todas produzidas e poderosas, pra contrapor todo o sofrimento que eu passava na escola e na "família". Tinha poucos amigos pois todos viraram as costas pra mim, dos que ficaram tem a Emelie, de 2009 até hoje nós temos uma amizade muito forte, ela atravessou meus melhores e piores momentos da vida, e vai comigo nessa aventura do show no Rio!!!
Na adolescência piorou, eu era o único assumido da escola, a diretoria acobertava muita coisa dizendo que era briga de criança mas era bullying o nome, até com arma de choque me ameaçavam. Minha mãe me levou ao médico pois vivia trancado no quarto e apático, até que recebi o diagnóstico de depressão e iniciei o tratamento, com 16 anos. Então eu mergulhei de vez na discografia da Madonna, comecei a ouvir de forma online os álbuns, primeiro o Confessions que era o que me vinha na memória, depois o youtube me recomendou o clipe de Open Your Heart e de Live To Tell que são minhas paixões, e assim a história começou, quando eu terminei de ouvir a discografia ela anunciou a era MDNA em 2012 e logo depois a MDNA Tour, eu tinha 16 anos. Jurei que conseguiria ir sozinho ao show com 16 anos, saindo do interior para a capital em uma época que o smartphone ainda não era tão cheio de recursos assim. Não fui, meus pais obviamente não deixaram, com razão.
Agora é 2024, tenho 28 anos, estou tendo a oportunidade de ver a rainha, eu digo com a boca cheia que a Madonna me salvou da depressão, cada música me tocou de maneira diferente e sozinho como parte do meu DNA, hoje sou cantor, meus sintomas estão em remissão e vivo uma vida normal, tenho amigos que escolhi como a minha verdadeira família, tenho meus pais maravilhosos que me amam incondicionalmente e eu os amo também, que me aceitam, me respeitam, e estão ansiosos para a minha ida ao show.
Ver a nossa musa, que foi trilha sonora de momentos importantes da minha vida e da minha amizade com a Emelie, na área VIP seria a realização dos nossos sonhos, pois somente nós sabemos tudo o que passamos para chegar aqui, tendo a Rainha nos guiando para chegar até o agora, e nos levará para os próximos 100 anos pois somos feitos do futuro.

This is just ABBA's 'Gimme Gimme Gimme' with a couple more lyrics thrown in on top with a middle aged woman gyrating semi-nude. There's literally no talent in this at all.
@@alanf8309 she wrote all the lyrics to this song and the whole, spectacular album, and produced the album with Stuart Price as well. Its probably one of the best produced pop/disco albums in recent memory. The production on every track is outstanding

Than Whitney Houston's cover of I will always love you is more about Dolly Parton's talents than Whitney , since that's a full cover a d it was written by Dolly and produced for Whitney by other people, unlike Madonna, Whitney never wrote it produced any of her material. and let's talk about Madonna's dance talent in the video, she does a great dance routine just weeks after she fell off her horse and was still in pain and was told by doctors not to dance for months, Madonna felt she needed to dance for the video, even in pain, with broken bones still not healed
@@breal401 in case you didn't know by watching the video, this video is an homage to Saturday Night Fever with Madonna playing Stephanie, the Karen Lynn Gorney role, which is why she's dressed just like her in the leotard, as Madonna was a professional dancer like the Stephanie character when she started out, the video is also supposed to take place in 1978, the whole album is a bonafide disco throwback album, the production on these songs by Madonna and Stuart Price is outstanding
