Zakk is one of the true guitar gods out there. I have yet to see anyone play with his ferocity or intensity. I mean he just really slams those strings and strangles the hell out his guitars.
i like his playing very much. he has a very distinctiv style. as soon as you hear the fist couple of notes you know who it is. a lot of guitarist you cant even tell them apart.
His sound it's so agressive and I LIKE IT!! those damn pinch harmonics, the vibratos! He really attacks the strings with his right hand! That sound is only made with a Les Paul played by Zakk Wylde and no one else! His weakness and strength at the same time according to me is that he is quite repetetive :P And I love the way he uses the pentatonic scale! It's awesome. My friends, Zakk Wylde a true metal GOD. :D
Zakk is the man, plain and simple. I once read a comment on another video that said feeling is not an excuse for slowness. well zakk wylde has speed AND feeling. if you cant acknowledge that wylde is a phenominal guitar player, then you dont know what a great musician is. zakk knows several scales and techniques, just because he chooses not to overdo them like every other "shredder" doesnt make him anything less than a great guitar player
I found that many jazz & Hendrix snobs suck when it comes to playing basic rock and simple melody and rhythm structures..it's all to do with different styles and feels..should appreciate and learn from them all..each can be the best at a style and some can be quite versatile.
I checked out the website: " It's been said, and I've seen it in print, that Randy Rhoads single‑handedly saved Ozzy's career ‑ but Ozzy had a loyal following, a great distinctive voice and unique style." Did his distinctive voice and style dissapear after Randy died? I wouldn't say that at all. I think the songwriting has gotten even better.
Not quite what spiderito said, a compressor takes the soundwave and depending on the settings, it prevents the sound from exceeding a certain dynamic range. They're used to even out a signal, make it more even. Used in mixes to make the track punchier usually, you can achieve the same effect on a guitar though by using it. X)
"noodling?" This "noodling" is way the hell better, faster, more precise, and melodic then some people have made in solos. Zakk was right when he said in an interview that hardy no body does guitar solos any more. I dare you to post something on here, no way would it be as good as this meager 'warm up'.

I picked up a set for my Les Paul, but I didn't realize the first E string was to thick for the plastic nut above the fretboard. When I tried to put them on the nut cracked and I had to replace it. So just watch for that.
hes a beast. however one show i went to, he was so hammered that his whole band left the stage. he picked up an acoustic, and played minless shit for a good 30 minutes. half of the crowd actually left because it sucked that bad. haha. Also during his tribute to dimebag (rip) he mentioned all the greats that are now passed away - Eddie Van Halen was among the list. EVH isnt dead lmao.

Zakk is a bit monotonous but his tone and his player are brutal to the extreme. He makes the damn thing SCREAM! more than anyone i can think of. Killer stuff really. Although not always to my tastes in the song stakes. He's certainly got some insane chops.
