calculated column can be created in direct query but it is not recommended since calculated columns are sent as query to source everytime
No you can't create a calculated column in a direct query . As table view is not there . And if you will try to create it will show a pop up this is not supported by a direct query .you need to do at a source level

You have to split the columns by using delimiter (,) and select those separated columns and do pivot ...then u will get below table as o/p
The above solution works when there is two columns one col contains John and other column contains phy,math,sci etc.

It is possible but you will have to do a few more things and work hard to get it.
Excel SQL Power BI and Python..you have to have command.
And at the same time you have to create Project portfolio and have online presence on LinkedIn also.
