The original pizzas in their most perfect form, the Margherita and Marinara, were created in Naples, a city in southern Italy. Over the centuries, many different variations of pizza were introduced around the world. But Naples continues to use the original recipe for traditional pizza. What happens when a Hawaiian pizza is delivered to some Neapolitans instead of the traditional pizza they had ordered. We find out in this hidden camera video.

As a Hawaiian and person from Hawaii, most of us hate Hawaiian Pizza. Because Hawaiian Pizza was not invented in Hawaii, it was invented by a man in Canada, and he marketed it as Hawaiian Pizza. We hate being associated with Hawaiian Pizza all the time and we dislike being blamed by the rest of the world for creating something we had nothing to do with. In Hawaii, we don't eat pizza with pineapple. The special pizza we eat here is Kalua Pig and BBQ Sauce.

Did you know that hand gestures are used to make people of other dialects understand more?

I'm Lithuanian, we were ordering pizza from a good pizzeria here and I bought a pineapple one for the kids just for shits and giggles, even though they usually eat Margherita. They ate the pizza, but removed the pineapple, even though nobody told them about pineapple pizzas being wrong. Even the kids know.
Sweet and tangy is the best combination. The eyties are just snobs.

Every pizza is non-traditional. The Italies only have Margherite. Nearly all the different pizzas come from America. Pepperoni pizza, that is not Italy. Pan pizza, that is not Italy.

Anybody who spent a minimal amount of time in Italy, knows a minimal element about the Italian culture knows how food and gastronomy are EXTREMELY SERIOUS MATTERS in Italy. Culinary nationalism is a really existing sociopolitical phenomenon.
And it might be worth adding that it doesn't seem like a coincidence to me that the regions of the world where people are genuinely defensive about their food and culture in that manner also tends to be the places that maintains the best local cuisine, affordable, delicious people's food, still not completely ran over by americanized fast food garbage....

Apparently its too "heavy" of a drink after the morning. In the morning because they only eat sweets like cornettos and pastries, they pair it with the cappuccino.

In Colombia , my country, it’s very common to eat Hawaiian pizza, which mainly contains ham and pineapple. For me it’s just natural, it’s been for ever since I was a kid, and even though it may not be the most original, I love it. Domino’s and papa Johns and basically every pizza shop sells them, it’s just another recipe. I can’t quite understand the hate, just select your favorite version and everyone is happy
We don't hate people who eat Hawaiian Pizza, everyone is free to do what they want. Just don't come to my door with it. Pizza is not just food, it is a symbol of identity. Neapolitan Pizza is done in a certain way. If you change it without our consent it is like coercing a different identity on us. Pasa que la pizza es un símbolo cultural de Nápoles, para los napolitanos la pizza es Margherita (tomate y mozzarella) o Marinara (tomate, orégano y ajo). Claro que en las demás ciudades italianas existen un sinfín de toppings (algunos raros como huevo, frijoles, mayonesa...) pero difícilmente van a aceptar adaptaciones gringas como la pizza Hawaiana. Por cierto Domino's pizza estuvo operando en Italia por algunos años pero terminaron cerrando. Cómo se te ocurre venderle pizza a los italianos...

As someone, who was born in raised in Hawai'i, I would like to say that "Hawaiian" pizza was invented in Canada by a Greek immigrant. We had no part in this monstrosity and in fact, most us hate for the people think you can call something Hawaiian" simply by putting #$$%$ pineapple on it
It was because the brand of pineapple originally used was Hawaiian.
But Hawaii does have pineapples on it so it's called Hawaii. Same applies to pizza

You have to put ham on it. Pineapple and ham, and no more toppings needed. Although, a different sauce then the standard one may help.
Having gotten to the end of the video, um, no. Try 1-2 cm pieces of pineapple, and then some 2-4 cm sized pieces of thinnish sliced of ham. Use lunchmeat ham or else some "city ham", something that needs to be refrigerated, not a dryer "country ham".
