  • June 18, 2019 - The summertime is the time for haymaking. Everyone tries to get dry hay when the days are long and the sun is shining. In this movie the Güldner G45 tractor with Claas Constant small square baler are used. Two Güldner Hydrocar tractors carry the bales to the shed!

    Im from New Zealand and I used to work picking up hay for a agricultural contracter during the school holidays. The pay rate was 15 dollars an hour which was really good for the time, which was the early 1990's and considering my regular weekend job was pumping gas at a gas station for 8 dollars an hour. We always got payed at the days end and the farmers would always put on a good meal and afew beers. Good times for a young guy like I was back then.

  • @hairymanonetwo
    @hairymanonetwo Před 5 lety +1

    Totally true......these bales are way to soft !!! Can get a third more in a bale....why handle so many ! A very tight bale that weighs 50 lbs is not wet. Specially grass hay . I baled hay for years. If your fighting the regular length bale( 1.2 meters ) its to heavy (wet ) ! If they are a bit wet..spread a little salt around on top each layer. They will be fine.

      But I've seen many stacks and sheds burn when people store too soon.

    The primary reason these bales are so soft......because the remaining part of the shoot has been removed. When there are ..say four bales in the shoot...they add pressure to help tighten the bales in the chamber itself. With no shoot on the baler theres little pressure even if there were blocks installed in the chamber. Its free flowing through the chamber. This is the primary reason.....when you do pull a wagon..... you should not pull the bale from the shoot. Allow it to come to you... it gives a much more uniform bale ! And does that guy have an extra finger to give away ? Stick his finger in the hole????? Yikes !
