Ignoring the physical abuse, the traveling and stardom at 6 years old with no childhood is no good either. He talked about it in depth in private phone calls with Glenda that were never meant to be leaked, why would he lie there?@@1goldbaby

Unbelievable is right! It’s absolutely OTHER WORLDLY! He’s a little guy singin like he lived a lifetime....amazing just crazy! Most folks don’t know that Smokey Robinson wrote this song. He was one of the main songwriters at Motown,, an amazing writer! When he sings the song, people be asking, ‘How come you singin Michael Jackson’s song?’ 😳😅. To only know grown Michael Jackson’s work is not really understanding how powerful his legacy is. Part of his ability to sing wit that grown conviction, besides his incredible gift & their father’s tough work ethic, with cthem being at places like the Apollo where several groups might appear on the bill in one night. Michael would stand behind the curtain watching James Brown, Jackie Wilson & folks like that. The way he sings Who’s Lovin You, wit the, 🎶 ‘I, I, I, I.....’ is direct influence of how James brown sang ballads like that. Ex: Te’Try Me’, & ‘Please! Please, Please.’ He Alicia Keys does it in ‘Falling’, at the top of one of her versus. Godfather of Soul laid a foundation. Also you should check En Vogue: a song called, ‘Hold On To Your Love’. As an intro, they start out singin a little bit of ‘Who’s Lovin You’ in the video, acapella (voices with no instrumental accompaniment). It’s pretty impressive harmonizing before the beat kick in for the song. They also covered an old Aretha hit called, ‘Givin Him Something He Can Feel’. You definitely wanna see those videos....oh yeah, also ‘Free Your Mind’ & ‘ Never Gonna Get It’.

This song was written (and performed) by Smokey Robinson and recorded with The Miracles at least 10 years before the Jackson 5 covered it. This was the side B song to their first Motown single, "I Want You Back". It killed everybody that heard it. They performed a shortened version of this live on "The Ed Sullivan Show" and the little boy was a phenomenal performer and an instant star and sensation. Smokey himself was amazed that a kid that young could feel and deliver those grown up lyrics with that kind of style and conviction.

So you know this is a cover from Smokey Robinson and the Miracles. Motown had songs written for multiple artists on the label to record. Smokey was always one of the main songwriters on Motown. He and Berry Gordy were two of the main guys who were at the foundation of Motown’s development. Of course The Miracles version of Who’s Lovin You came out years before J5 who signed toward the end of Motown’s prime which was the 60’s.

Its amazing growing up in Jamaica how much were were far more exposed to contemporary American music. I dont believe that there is anyone who was born in Jamaica who would not have heard these songs from the 60s 70s and 80s, they were mainstream on teh radio waves. I am shocked listening to these reaction videos and discovering that the culture of listening to music daily was not part of teh US music landscape. Too many people I find have never heard these songs

Hello this my first time on your channel! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for listening to the studio recording of this song! Other people reacted to the Ed Sullivan performance which was great, but to listen to the entire studio recorded song, you can REALLY hear and appreciate the voice of 11 or 12yr old MJ! I appreciate you for that!

Smokey Robinson wrote and recorded this song in 1960 on Motown. Here are more songs of the younger Michael: "I'll Be There", "Got To Be There", "Ben", "Never Can Say Goodbye", "Don't Know Why I Love You" (originally recorded by Stevie Wonder"), "Sugar Daddy". He has gems as a teenager/young adult (The Jacksons). Give a listen to: "Push Me Away", "All I Do Is Think Of You" (this song was redone by Troop in 1989), "That's What You Get For Being Polite". I have listened to Michael since I was 5 years old.

You need to see the live version. He tells this great little story and he shows how really awesome he was live at 10 years old (and looking about 6 yrs old).
