#GaryNuman #SaintsAndLiars #Intruder - Hudba
Gary Numan needs to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. 40 years of influencing the music we listen to today, and still writing fresh brilliant new music! Nobody deserves it more! Another amazing song, can't wait for the album!
He’s not in it?! What a travesty!
Ah they're too busy with pop and hiphop stars that have never expressed any interest in the genre.
I agree completely!
Bravo
And Kraftwerk as well. And while we're at it, New Order.
I interviewed Gary after a Manchester gig in the early eighties for local radio. He was polite, generous and decent which made the job so much easier than I was used to. Since then I have been in his camp and so pleased to see him still out there. He is a proud dad, a talented pilot, a humble man and a groundbreaking British musician. He gets my vote.
💪
One of the most unique voices in music. He needs to be recognized more.
how is he not? He has got the best tools available, expérience, great skills, and internet fans, new and old. He IS litteraly getting more recognition now, bit he has always been amazing and recognizable.
@@jasonmateus924 back in the 80s, the media and other musicians tried to beat him down, they didn't like him, just jelousy
Nice wee bit of Mortiis era 1 nostalgia, thanks for that
"Unique" is empty praise for me, too close in meaning to stigmatised descriptions of difference, distanced without owning it or coming into the space, and quite possibly a bit patronising or euphemistic, often it's both! But that's my experience as a late diagnosed autistic! I shudder & cringe at the word!
Demanding conformity is evil - and could affect me and my children. I suppose there's some value there in such praise but then is reinforcing relative uniqueness as against a norm all that different!? Just the flipside or precursor of it not an alternative universe!?
You're better to talk about the creative process or how the artistry or the topic makes you feel, what's shared between artist and audience, for me.
He's awesome, always has been. Been a Numanoid since '78! #Numan
The Godfather of Industrial music
Trademark Numan. He must be one of the few artists to have successfully moved on from the eighties. He has such a huge catalogue of fine music that he’s written and recorded, post eighties. It’s really a tonic to see him play such a diverse range of music at concerts from every decade since the days of tubeway army upto present day.
I love this track. Gary, has an amazing nack of pulling out ace cards with obsessively addictive choruses! Brilliant!!
Spot on!!
ITYM 70s. I was stunned by "Are 'Friends' Electric?" in early 1979, and bought his next album "Pleasure Principle" later that year.
I agree but some of it sounds very similar.
@@LisaEllenPearce Well it will do. It’s produced by Ade Fenton, Gary’s ‘in form’ long time Producer.
@@LisaEllenPearce no, ALL of it sounds very similar. Gotta love it, all “these” belting anthemic choruses, but it is pretty much 2 or 3 belting anthemic choruses repeated ad infinitum over the last couple of decades. Which is a LONG time to be repeating the same formula....
What I love about this is that Gary is still here... Remember when the likes of Radio 1 refused to play his music? Where are those sad tossers now? Numan is still here and better than ever. Suck it up buttercups, the man is a legend.
Undeniably a legend
A bright shining torch burning in from the 80s, illuminating this dark century. Gary Numan still on top form!
Absolutely!
Absolutely brilliant music
I'm really digging this tribal post-apocalyptic desert dweller aesthetic Numan's had to his music lately. It speaks to me in a primal way.
Perfect description 👌
Agreed!...goes so well with my offroad apocalypse crown vic and military jeep truck
For sure!
Fallout soundtrack.
@@vegansaxon3962 just got my 1st jeep, on road may 3rd, now you've given me even more evil ideas! Be mad maxing it to this!
So underrated. A brilliant talent for 4 decades.
Gary Numan took me places I never thought I would go. He is a true messenger .
He is one of them, yes.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
A lot of his peers are still making good music but Gary is making new music, interesting music, modern music.
Well said and I agree.
It feels more like technology has evolved to his needs. It's still overwhelmingly 80s just has more than a synthesiser at his disposal.
I like his music and i really like the savage album actually but his last several albums have sounded pretty similar sonically it would be good to hear him try a new sound
@@dominicaaaaa5547 ya you are right like the songs I am dust and my name is ruin sound the same!!
@@joanamorais8249 yes you are right, at least the songs are good though haha 🤐
It's been a long time since I didn't enjoy a song that much!!! This man is amazing!!! He is 63 years old and creates this music!!! I can't stop listening to it!!! 💪😎💕🔊

@@needsmoreclipping we know what he means.
Gary Numan kicked ass when he was shown on MTV and now, he still kicks ass . I love his dark synth music. This man's music deserves to be on the game Cyberpunk 2077
This song already got me a speeding ticket!!! Dang music goes up... foot goes down!!
Because.. *"CARS"*
He was made for *SPEED* >>> 😎
Its the lead shoes my dude.
@@GrandmasterofWin Nice one never thought of that!!
Worth every penny and 3 points
Oh man, Gary Numan's music is so fresh and full of energy. I really love what he does and his clothes cyberpunk style.
I was never into the electro pop side of Gary Numan. I celebrated his more NIN inspired stuff from pure onwards. You could always tell allot of what Gary was doing late 80’s to early 90’s was the sound of a man trying to please an ill informed industry and a paradigm shift in music appreciation all at once and lost himself in the process. I think when he hit that dark gothic industrial metal sound, it truly resonated with allot of his personal struggles he’s been particularly vocal about since his resurgence into the mainstream eye with Savage. Dead son Rising Gary onward is like a fucking well oiled machine...efficient, economical and deadly. He has definitely influenced me as a multi instrumentalist along with artists such as Trent Reznor, Chris Hall etc hooking up with Ade Fenton, becoming friends with Trent and seeking solace in the wise words of his wife has led him to where he deserves to be. He got there, took the scenic route and the proof is in this heavy, dark but catchy as fuck track. This intruder album is another slam dunk for one of Britain’s truly unsung musical hero’s
Thank you, hit the nail on the head.
PURE Is a great album, but did you miss EXILE before it?
Quintessential Numan, my favourite album but all the others
are bunched very close in second. I've loved Numan's music
from the onset, altho if I never hear CARS again, that'd be
okay. DOWN IN THE PARK was a much better song anyway...
But EXILE? A superb album that set the stage for the
excellent albums that came after.
@@SusanC147 hey since posting this I gave exile a go and fell in love and then sat down with the extended addition of exile is a masterpiece….sounds like disintegration era cure in places.
@@tomorrowwestport2620 Yes! Most excellent. & if you're
Into progrock-give RPWL a listen. They started out as a
PinkFloyd cover band and they've jumped quantum leaps beyond.
@@SusanC147 thanks for the recommendation. Thank you very much I’ll be sure to check out tomorrow. What other artists are you a fan of ?
Love the barren iconography and symbology...
Numan is on fire once again... Absolutely no one does it better than this British Icon.
Four decades of love for this beautiful man and the brilliant music he makes, and absolutely no regrets. 🥰🎧😎
Thinking about it.... He's in his 6th actual decade of making music!
The man just gets better these days. Love him.
Numan has found his 2021 groove and it effin’ ROCKS!!!
Gary just keeps on getting better
Few artists have a truly unique approach and sound. In an age of manufactured 2 a penny acts he remains steadfastly true to himself - long may he continue to bring us a tremendous alternative!
It feels so familiar yet so different
Song and video ridiculously good. This is what an actual superstar sounds and looks like.
Numan is timeless.
Man, these Numan videos keep getting better and better. Epic doesn’t even start to cover this one.
I totally agree with you!
This guy is the david bowie of electro music.innovator and standard bearer for his genre period.
Both music-wise and video-wise this song seems like a sequel to "My Name Is Ruin". And both are very good.
I prefer this to MNIR.
@@hauntological I'm the opposite.
@@hectorskmetija3015 I can't fault you, they're both good tracks, just a matter of preference, I guess 👍
@@hauntological yes MNIR has become one of my all time favourites - it's such an amazing epic song - but this is a great song too
Agreed
An absolute triumph again Mr. Numan.
This is so epic! He’s The Godfather of dark synth
This is the best song off Intruder.
It's like classic music, I've followed him since I bought the single, "Are friends electric" at Woolworths back in 79, each song sounds different but also the same, you instantly know it's his music, from his first song to his last and you can listen to them over again forever and they always sound new and interesting, he uses a dissident tone like his voice to lure you in then twists the chords at just the right moment like when a trance tune drops the bass and your soul either explodes or melts, this is not ordinary music, the man is a spiritual being 🙏
The section between the last verse and last chorus was glorious
All Hail the Android King!
BRILLIANT. It blows my mind to think of your evolution as an artist. I think back to a 9 year old me cradling the newly bought "Pleasure Principle" and being a bit scared by the cover image to now, many many years later, continuing to being impressed by your music. You, sir, rock. Keep it up and i CANT WAIT FOR MAY 21st!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great thing about Gary's music is that it sounds even better live. Constantly building up the sounds and taking you to a whole other place and dimension, time after time. No matter how large the crowd of the concert.
Totally awesome.
Love Gary Numan and other dark masters of music like
Nine Inch Nails, Chelsea Wolfe, Portishead, Tricky, HTDA, Allflaws
Our Living Legend...
unbelievably talented
🤯F yeah!! Thank you my friend who hooked me up just now!!!
how can he look this young when he released his best track when I was 1 year old?
Surgery!
@@user-yp6nn9vy5x copious amounts!
@@richardjamieson6681 He was very open about his facelift back in 2012 and to be fair, he's aged pretty well since then and quite happy doing so.
Hair dye, cosmetic surgery, and makeup does wonders for the vein. Don't get me wrong, big fan of the music.
Gary Newman was the first concert I ever went to my dad took me I was only 6 years old , unfortunately I lost my dad in 2019 but as he had such a diverse love of music I made the whole day and night a tribute to all his favourite artists and songs , I included Gary nemans tracks . . Cars, I die you die, we are glass and Are friends electric.
And at 6 years of age I would never of thought in years to come my own children would attend the same primary school as Gary did .
My long time friend Bryan and I were reunited after all our own trials and tribulations apart. We listened to your songs Gary Numan a lot. A lot together. Talked about life in general.
He was like check out this song. What do you think about this one? We were listening to you 2 days before he passed away. Right in front of me. It was so surreal and unrealistic.
Nowadays, I take comfort listening to your music as memory of it all. A memory of my friend. He had all the tools. Couldn't believe I could rock the synth or his tech gear. More of a guitarist and vocalist.
We had always had our own ideas on music. What I want to say? Is thank you for giving me those memories with one of my dearest of friends. It keeps me sane in those darkest of times. Reminds me of him. Think he wanted to be you. Actually know he did. Thank you.
A true genius ❤
How is it possibile? He never get old....
Absolutely epic. Visually stunning.
His music just gets better and better.. he brought that distinct 80s sound into 3024! Lol i love it
He knows something others don't. His music has a message.
Incredible. I'm SO excited about the new album coming out. He just keeps getting better and better and better...Feels like his music's tapping into a wakeup call from a dystopian future. The man’s voice is brilliant even after all these years. And I have been a fan since I was in college back in the late 70s.
the more i hear this the more i like it.
Brilliant brilliant brilliant.
Worth the wait ( in gold) , Gary standing on the edge of his meteor crater, ,, the meteor that stranded Numan and his polymoog here on Earth far from his own planet,,, love you Numan, genius level, getting stronger every album xxx
Lyrics
Can you see your fallen God?
He's standing next to me, far from home
Can you hear your broken promises?
I am what you've been waiting for
Can you feel your righteous anger?
It's like a poison that feeds the soul
Can you hide from saints and liars
When every word is the death of me?
And this is who you are
And this is who you are
And this is who you are
And this is who you are
Can you break your crumbling idols?
And push the pieces into the sea
Can I trust you to keep a secret?
I have laughed in the face of God
And this is who you are
And this is who you are
And this is who you are
And this is who you are

I love Numan. However, he used the word God in every other song. I love his compositions. Yet, his lyrics are overly repetitive at times.
So good. Everything you do Gary, you speak to my soul.
@Gary Numan I Absolutely love it! I have actually sang/recorded Saints and Liars & Intruder Karaoke style on the social singing app Starmaker. I have been sharing your posts with everyone I can. I feel you deserve so much more respect and notoriety than you get.
Thank you for decades of incredible work!
This'll be on repeat.
Saw him last night at the Aztec Theater here in San Antonio. His stage presence and confidence was indescribable.
Gary is a legend for a reason the guy was light years ahead of his time and listening to this and his newer stuff is unbelievable the sounds are better than ever hes just incredible
Fan since the 80s when I was a teen. Purchasing song ASAP!!!!!

Top tune! And love the video... 42 year on from my 1st time hearing him and he just keeps getting better... Thankyou Mr Human..🤟
He's inspired so many popular bands. He's produced songs equal to or better than the bands he's inspired. Why does he not get the recognition he deserves? WTF? If you believe in him, give him as many views as you can!
FANTASTIC!!! That's all I gotta say.
Knowing the background of the filming day - it gives me shivers.
Ohhhh? Explaaaain?
Stranded in desert mud and rain. Everybody pitched in to get back to the road. Gary led the only free vehicle out on foot with a torch. Many things went wrong that day but they pulled off another brilliant visual for another brilliant Numan track.

Ah, Amboy. Everyone should visit once in their lifetime. Take a plane to Palm Springs, hire a car and play Gary's new album. Breathtaking stuff.
