A lot goes on within the USPS that most people will never know. It is a difficult & time crunching job no matter the time of year. It’s like that daily
"It'll be delivered by the next morning". Yeah, if management doesn't decide to curtail the mail and hold it for a day or two. First-class mail USED to be required to go out the same day it was received.
the reason people quit post office b/c they make people work too much. I don't know why the post office don't hire more people. For example...u dont' want new employees to quit, if they quit, u have to train them again and hire them again..it's wasting goverment money.. That's why they need HIRE more people and don't let people work more than 40 hours a week. People have family and kids..they want to go home and hang out with their kids. If someone can step up and solve this problem, then post office is a great place to work. There are many places that are very BUSY ...and they want people to work overtime.. instead of making people working overtime..why not hire MORE people ?? if u make employees happy then employees will make post office happy...
I'm a mail carrier at USPS (12 years) they hire people but then they quit. It's a very hard job to start, it's very overwhelming at first and Christmas time is an utter NIGHTMARE for us. Management is constantly on our case about EVERYTHING. You have to be a person who can just work and keep your inner peace without letting the job and management harrass you to a point you quit. It's a hard and demanding job most days but it takes a certain sort of person to be able to do it with peace. I tell my boss "you want a god to do this job then look for Thor, I'm human, I'll do what I can humanly do. if that's not good enough, guess you gotta fire me". I refuse to lose my inner peace, always keep your inner peace!
@@Okoye1964 why don't u apply for an office job..my friend works at USPS as mail carrier..after 2 yrs..she applied for an office job..after 4 yrs....she became the manager... u should work in the office...it's better than working outside
office job is good...my friend said..she does not do anything in there... used the phone to talk to friends and texting...that's why u don't want to work outside...it's a tough job. Just go talk to upper managmenet and tell them u want an office job. They will help you find it...
These letters go in a separate tray (provided that the zip code is right) and the clerks at the local post offices hand sort them according to route. Usually each route has a good foot or two of "raw" letters they have to hand sort into their case. Most don't realize, a carrier spends a good chunk of their day casing mail up, pulling it down and loading it in the truck before they have to go out and deliver it all.
That's why Mondays are always a bitch for carriers. The plant keeps pumping out the mail and you get 3 days worth of work all on a Monday. At any given time the warehouse has like 5 days worth of 3rd class backed up ready to ship out.
Show them stealing, breaking, losing, items and not being accountable. The most wasted tax on the planet is the post office and politicians. There is no way to complain about employees stealing items which is a federal crime.
@@saadhashmi5313 hey dumbass I don't vote or believe in democracy and as far as mail it's bills which can be done online and junk mail which is a waste so no the post office isn't needed like your shitty opinion.
@Alexander Jerez maybe you should like more into government subsidies to the tune of $15 billion which is from taxes so yes taxes are a big part of the post office salary. I love how people like to voice opinions as facts like dumb fuck above me here Saad Hashmi. So yes we buy stamps along with other things that funds it the rest of the way but being given $15 billion is a lot of tax money wouldn't you say. We pay thieves, lazy, lying, unaccountable (public servants).
@Alexander Jerez oh and as far as watching lmmfao. Since I've had my packages scanned not dropped off not one package came up missing unlike before where 1 package a week was missing and when told look at the footage I was told won't do any good. Watching eh lol okay. Lazy bosses as well. Making excuses means you are just as bad as those which reading from both of your comments means both you work for USPS and your comment is called plausible deniability.... guilty much?
@Alexander Jerez lol ok like I said you do just like I said you work for USPS. Stop lying which I also said y'all do. Be professional, unlike my post lady who wears sweats to deliver mail, or those at my post office who steal to resell free inventory with free shipping material. Oh btw you maybe bought out shortly and bye bye benefits, hella time off and shitty hrs. Enjoy the lazy job because times change.
I talked to a carrier today who had 2600 hundred letters plus packages... she also had stacks of catalogs and magazines...
mrsparex honestly the job is extra as hell
@@gregw3469 "extra"? ...sorry I'm lost

They MAKE us bring it out.
What are you talking about dude have you worked for the post office do you know how it works?
Is a delay of a day or two THAT critical?

I hate the office hours, they start at like 3:30 am, yuck, I'm not a morning person at all!
It’s not government money it’s money coming from shipping sales and stamps. Usps doesn’t use federal money.
I hope two of my elementary school teachers got my letters and wrote back.
Those machines were tossing packages! They all need to be fired
Novaximus oh don’t be a cutie pie
I work there now.
How does the computer read it's address when some people dont spell the letters or numbers correctly?

They are manually sorted by the PSE clerks.
This is my dream job
A lot of work
24 hours a day 7 days a week ??? Wtf lol
They do work on holidays too!
That's right, it's an old post but the po never closes we work even if it floods, i'm from Houston, hurricane Harvey, at work.

Yup. Tuesday’s are actually worse than Monday’s, because of ads.
why are the machines so aggressive with the packages lol its like one of those was labeled fragile
baekhyun god it’s fine
LMAO even when it says fragile the workers still throw them in the bins
Once someone send me letter ✉️ that was also stolen
