Great question, I reduced the alk dosing after cleaning it off. The tank does seem to be consuming less a week later.

Question for you on the coral base growth of your home made plugs. Ive seen all your videos and like the idea of how you do that. But as corals grow and start to base our over the edge of the flat part of the plug how do you keep it from growing on the rock. You you remove and trim the bases to prevent that? If not then the plugs get stuck around the base and rock. Just curious how you maintain that. Thanks for the info

Yeah sometime I'll trim it, but I don't worry about it too much growing on the rock.. If they encrust over, I can just dig out around the platform and take it off. You could always make big plugs if you want to avoid that as much as possible.
