@@Youknow0671 The design of aircraft does impact its response to turbulence, but all aircrafts will respond to turbulence in similar set of ways regardless of the manufacturer, this is why they always say keep your seatbelt on while seated because turbulence, particularly bad turbulence typically causes phugoid motion, the up and down stuff that you feel, this is the stuff that will lift you up out of your seat and hurt you, I'm pretty sure the other forms of turbulence are stable in z direction so less prone to injury. (source I study Aerospace engineering)
Strong turbulence can break a seatbelt and an entire chair can go flying I wouldn't be blaming the passengers.

I just read the article, it literally cites here "When the aircraft hit the turbulence 10 hours into the flight, passengers not wearing seatbelts were flung from their seats." Its absolutely the fault of the passengers not wearing their seatbelts, another witness "Jerry, a 68-year-old British passenger, and his wife hit their heads on the ceiling of the plane during the incident." Its literally what I described, hence wear your seatbelts...
Another recount
(The 28-year-old braced himself and said the ordeal was very quick, only lasting about 10 seconds.
He had his seatbelt on but many of the other passengers did not, he said.
"Suddenly there was a very dramatic drop so everyone seated and not wearing seatbelt was launched immediately into the ceiling, some people hit their heads on the baggage cabins overhead and dented it, they hit the places where lights and masks are and broke straight through it," he said.)
Its a great shame that Geoff Kitchen died in this incident, I think everyone should take safety more seriously and one thing you can do is wear your seatbelt whenever seated

All airlines must stop pilots from sleeping for long periods. Each pilot must rest in rotations of no more than 40 minutes each. And trajectory must avoid turbulence as it is stressful to passengers.
