In the early 1980s I was a slave to addiction and homeless for 3 and 1/2 straight years on the streets of New York City this amazing song has a profound effect on me. This performance is amazing in resonates and wakes up every cell in my body and brain
This was a joy to watch and listen to. One of my favorite Elton tunes performed by my favorite First Ladies of rock and roll. Doesn’t get much better. It’s always nice to hear Nancy sing lead too.
Bernie wrote some great words but this is my favorite. Even better it’s being performed by my favorite band with the most overqualified backup singer ever.
One of my favorite Bernie Taupin songs performed by one of the most under rated talents in music, Heart. Thank you for sharing, this made my afternoon so much better.
This is from the 2002 Summer of Love tour, AKA "Alive in Seattle" DVD/CDs. I was quite fortunate to catch when they passed through NYC on this tour in '02.. Our city was still in mourning, shock and a plethora of other things as this wasn't even a year after 09/11.. This song would've brought up 'the feels' on its own but Nancy's gentle demeanor when dedicating this song from her, Ann & the band, brought it to another level.. I personally will always be grateful for this dedication being part of the entire tour rather than just a tune played when in NYC.. And yes, I still get the lump in my throat.. TY for that much needed 'tune' A&N.. 🕊
@@marshallgeorge3819 She is a great singer but when your bandmate and sister is arguably the greatest female rock singer of all time, you're going to be somewhat overlooked.
Fun fact: These Dreams (with Nancy singing lead, and Heart's first #1 single) was first offered to Stevie Nicks. Probably wouldn't have worked nearly as well.
@@tetsuoishiki4677 thanks !!!! what page is it on, do you remember????? or what chapter is it in? I have it on my phone through my library app !!! I have too many to read, I have Bernie's book, Elton's book, Pete Townshend's book (I love the Who) and now Nancy Wilson's book. LOL
Love hearing Nancy sing. Such a great voice that too often lives in the shadow of Ann.
As both a huge Elton John fan and Heart fan, I don’t know how I missed hearing this until now. Just absolutely incredible.
right? Better late...love to hear Nancy sing lead. What freaking natural and extraordinary talent these sisters have!
Ditto. It's just perfect.
Same!
Fantastic job with classic early Elton John❤❤
Did you just think they did Stairway to Heaven?
The harmony - sigh - such perfection❤❤❤❤❤

Warms my heart to hear this! Be well!
Sir Elton would be so Proud!!!!! I Thank the Lord for this Rendition!!! Standing Ovation!!!!
Stumbled upon this and thank god I did.
Maybe the greatest live vocal performance I have ever seen or heard. ❤
This is absolutely incredible. Wow. The best version of this song ever sung by someone other than Elton.
Absolutely beautiful!! Can’t beat the harmonies of the Wilson Sisters!! :)
Their Harmonies is what I missed the most these past years.
Agreed!!

I have to say the lyrics are stupendous. Thank you, Bernie Taupin. And I this rendition is a great one.
I cried. Wonderful.

Nice Work Nancy! You are a Great Guitarist! WooF!!🐶🐶
Love this song, love what they've done with it.
One of the most beautiful things ever.
What an awesome rendition of a timeless classic. Kudos to Heart
It’s so easy to forget what a Beautiful voice she has. ❤️
And less we forget what an incredible guitar player she is 🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️

I was in NYC.
Somehow I missed this, and this is 22 yrs ago?
@@NickNicometi Yep 22 years ago for this actual tour. The "Alive in Seattle" CD/DVD that this video is from, was released after, in '03.
WOW Such A Fantastic Song For Nancy And Annie To Celebrate Together Awesome 👍😎👌
Great, Great performance!!
This was a good show.. I think I watched this on AXS TV
love that song...nice f'n job
The smiles at the end when they knew they had just smashed it!
OMG...this is spectacular...
mesmerizing, absolutely wonderful
Wow that was fantastic
Amazing song, amazing singers.
This rendition is incredible. Watch the Indigo Girls version of this song as well. Unbelievable.
Beautiful tribute.☘️👍
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL ❤
Beautiful version of a great song! Well done.
These two sets of videos I had not seen. Thanks for posting. Couple of songs, like this one, I hadn't heard. Very nice!!
❤❤❤
That's beautiful.thanks.
Grande Elton y la versión preciosa😮
Such a Beautiful song!
Nancy's voice was made for this song. She's the only musician I've heard who puts even more feeling into it than Elton.
Now that was amazing! Bravo!!!
Nailed it!
Brilliant!
Discovered this. Great.
Now, go listen to their rendition of Led Zeppelin's "The Battle of Evermore" from this same concert "Alive in Seattle." Amazing.
I did what you suggested. Holy shit. Thx man...
No paro de llorar cuando la escucho😢
❤❤
5:37 Those looks 🥺
One of the very few covers better than the original artist. She has such a beautiful voice.
Nancy does not get enough credit for singing. Just a sweet voice!

Lets not get carried away here.
Valiant effort
This performance is heading into that rareified 'better than the original' kind of territory...
I had no idea Nancy could sing like this. Could have given Stevie Nicks a run for her money had she been so inclined.
Fun fact: These Dreams (with Nancy singing lead, and Heart's first #1 single) was first offered to Stevie Nicks. Probably wouldn't have worked nearly as well.
She runs circles around Stevie Nicks!

Watching this, Heart should start doing country music.
please no.
love Nancy
Damn
❤🇨🇦🇨🇦
......ALONE!!!!!
How bout that album...sir elton...
Bernie Taupin hit on Nancy at Elton's birthday party in the 70s when he was married, lol
where did you read that? and no wonder he's been married 4 times.
@@jdenino6022 It was in Kicking and Dreaming, the autobiography of the Wilson sister. Great read, or in my case, listen narrated by them.

@@tetsuoishiki4677 Wow
Beautiful but too bad there wasn't a third sister (or another clone of Nancy) to come in with the mandolin.
it needs Davey Johnstone's mandolin.
This is the rare case when the cover is so much batter than the original.
