Riptide Uke Tutorial For Total Beginners!

- Hey guys, this is my first uke tutorial. This is how to play Riptide by Vance Joy for 100% beginner uke players!
If you want me to do any other beginner tutorials on either the guitar or the ukulele please let me know cause im definitely interested! Id also really love some feedback on how i did in this video as a teacher, cause its the first time ive done anything like this!

Omg i just don't understand, my ukulele is tuned, I'm doing the chords and the strumming pattern exactly the same, yet when i play it sounds nothing like the song. I'm so frustrated.
Allyson Schlosser you might not be struggling anymore but if you play it with the song or sing with it then you'll see that it sounds like the song.
you might need a cabo then
Make sure your pressing down all the way on the cords, and make sure when strumming that you put the same amount of pressure onto all of the strings

You need to tune it to open #G6 and play different chords.
I'm 100% new player I don't know how to strum or how to change my fingers that fast
Take it slow and just practicing the chords by themselves.

Hey guys! I got my ukelele a few days a go and as this song may seem very hard, don't leave! It took me 4 days to get the intro and chorus. I recommend looking into other CZcams sources to teach you to strum and to learn about the fingering. Please, this is actually an easy sing, but it definitely takes a while.
You're the best! I've played drums for years but never touched anything with strings. A friend passed away a little more than a month ago, and she loved ukulele. At one of our jam sessions I recorded her playing and singing this song. I picked up the uke in her honor, and thanks to you I'm on my way to playing the same song. I watched another tutorial but yours was much better. Thank you!

I bought a ukulele just over a week ago, and started learning it completely in secret, it's been hiding in my cupbaord whenever my parents are around and so far I've learnt Primadonna Girl and Riptide (purely from this video) - Once I'm confident in a few mroe songs I'm gunna wow 'em!

I literally just started playing ukulele yesterday I'm not even kidding and I wanted to play the ukulele so that I can play this song and literally when I found your video and watched it it was so easy for me to try to learn it and I know it's gonna take me a while to like completely lget it down good but this video is so helpful so thank you so so much for a video that has very very specific directions and you tell us every little detail and even give us the full song at the end! My ukulele sounds nothing like that :/ I've been working at it for awhile but I don't know what's wrong with it. I've tuned it well and everything and it looks slightly familiar to yours, if anyone could help I would be SOO grateful - SOS lol
Blue Sweater it would depend on what type of ukelele you got. Soprano and Tenor sound different, for example.
If you have a DIY kit, like me , you hate to mesure the distance beetween your nut (where the strings start) to the senter of the 12 fret, dubble that distance. That is where you need to attatch the brige, make sure the white thingy in exacly on that mark. This made a huge different in my case, it sound amazing now, way better the the ukelele she is using in the video

For some reason whenever I watched other tutorials for this song and they explained G, it didn’t make sense. But when I watched this one it did and my fingers went in the right place lol. Idk why this only worked with this tutorial, but it did 🤷🏼♀️ just something I noticed
