I am also very much confused between App development and web Development.
And in App development also between Android App development and Cross platform app development.
If you are considering app development then do native first (Android/iOS) and then later move on to hybrid. Bcoz even though hybrid is supposed to work on both platforms ideally there are some configuration requirements in both platforms. Even if you check some job requirements of hybrid app development there you can see they have asked for experience in either of the platform.
I am currently working on Flutter hence this is my opinion
