    You are the very first bbq guy that says he finishes up cooks in the oven. Well, I've been doing that for years, And like I you, for the same exact reasons. Glad to finally see someone else that does this.

      Thanks for watching.. Makes no sense to burn up your wood when you are not getting anything from it.

    If you were doing a single roast, like you said you can finish it in the oven. In that case, don't need to wrap it, put it in a COVERED baking pan in the oven. Keeps the moisture in the pan. Also makes great gravy. Thanks for the video. Jon

      Yep cook temp 275. Internal temp was closer to 200. Do just like a brisket. Cook until probe goes in like a warm tub of butter. Glad you checking out our channel. I hope all is well with you guys. Be safe out on that bike of yours 😉

    Great video Kevin. Kind of funny I grabbed a Chuck Roast today and plan for tomorrows smoke.
    I have to get some of your CRC rub you used. Is it still sold online?
    Questions.
    You said you smoked it for 3 1/2 hours at what smoker temperature?
    Also you left out telling us when smoking did you use just time 3 1/2hrs or internal temperature of meet or color and bark before you pulled off.
    Final step you put in oven after wrapping. Just to rest or did you cook some more?

      Hey there.. We currently have our online store closed for now. RVing to much right now but looking at finding a way of doing fulfillment even when on the road. The smoke temp was 275-300. I always go by the look and feel of the meat but much easier to tell folks to cook to 165 internal. When I say finish in the oven I talking about continue to cook at 275 until done. Done being when you can insert a prob like going into warm butter. All great questions. Hope that helps

    I must have missed it. What temp did you smoke it at? Also, what temp did you pull it and wrap it? Did you use sweet pecan or Smokey and Bold? I got a few of these in the deep freezer but wasn’t sure how I was gonna smoke them yet.

    • @ridingwiththerileys
      @ridingwiththerileys  Před rokem +2

      Smoke at 275-300. I pulled it when internal temp hit 165 wrapped then finished in the oven until prob went in like soft butter. I used Smoky & Bold but Sweet Pecan would be wonderful as well. Got more questions just ask away. Your kiddos would love it and its cheap
