Full disclosure. I have PTSD, and P!nk’s music has literally helped me through some of my really dark times, and this song is no different. I completely understand the seriousness of trauma, but this song makes me think of those few bright(er) spots that have happened since my trauma. It’s like she’s saying that I’m not completely alone…rock bottom really hurts, but it’s okay to hurt because I have been through some stuff. I needed to hear that, and I need to be reminded of that. Yes, I am not perfect, but I am deserving love, just like anyone else.

This is such a fun video that despite the somewhat dark subject matter, conveys an ultimately happy mood with the video--we see this couple embracing themselves together in a good way, and both of them are happier at the end of the video for it. But at no point do I ever feel like these two hate each other or anything; but mostly because Pink and Channing have amazing chemistry and work really well together as dance partners. The whole thing feels light and fun and the color palettes in each scene are fantastic.
Also honestly Channing is adorable in this. His body language and facial expressions are selling a cheeky fun time and he genuinely seems to be having fun in this video, and like they didn't practice this a billion times before filming it--it all feels fluid and natural.

Pink! was the first artist I ever listened to on my own curiosity. I always knew I was gay but being raised in a homophobic environment was so hard and everyone was already bullying me for liking pink. Over the course of years I moved to darker and heavier music but Pink along with some other pop artists had a special place in my heart. I can't believe how outstanding she's kept her career since 20 years ago that I met her with Get this party started and even when I lost track of many of her work, her consistency just gives me life on this memory trip I took with her music.
