"Born to excel" oh yeah!!! ill be doin them spreadsheets on this baby alright!
Looks nice and a fantastic all rounder, however manufacturers listen: STOP putting glass on the cable management side! It adds very little value but increases the cost, weight and fragility of the unit as a whole
Major +1
When the glass panel on the right side is gone, I wouldn't even need these cable covers.
Stop putting glass on either side. "Hey did you guys want to come over to my place and look inside my PC????" So fucking stupid.
@@djvidual8288 yes exactly! It's over-engineering
... It adds 0 value.
I wanted to thank my roommate for helping me build my first gaming pc and helping me with all of my accessories. He never asked for a dime the whole time so overheard him talking about this case so I brought him the rgb one $169. It should be here Friday 😁 can't wait to see his face.
This case looks so damn amazing! They took all the innovative features from the past 5-6 years and put them in this case. That swappable front panel is especially cool! I would never have my front IO at the bottom, but still a cool idea for customization. I'm blown away at this price point, too, especially considering that they include 4 fans at the high end.
Glad to finally see case reviews back on this channel! :)
I really enjoy the new single-take style review format. Please keep going with this format!
So many improvements, it's so amazing to see manufacturers still listening to their customers
the extra room in this case should come really handy
this case is amazing!
also nice to see a case review after a long time!
I own the Lian Li lancool 2 mesh going 2 years now, and i dont feel like changing case yet. I recently cleaned my PC and i just remember how easy and convinient it is to build in this case. If i ever feel the need to change cases, it would most likely be a Lian Li case again.
That's when you know you have a good case when you can't justify a reason to switch yet.
how many time you clean the case each week ? cuz dust must be problem
@@TatsuyaWow I actually just cleaned once HAHAHA. But yeah dust would be the only problem, but it is managable. You can clean the front fans easily because the bracket is removable by just 2 screws. However i can confirm that my temps are amazing! I only have 1 exhaust as of the moment but im planning to upgrade some of the parts this year.
@Bona Seriously, in appealing to watercooling fanatics with the 360mm and 420mm support they've bloated the case's size, weight, and price. Reducing it to the Lancool 2 Mesh's size and keeping all of the new features would result in a nearly flawless case.
love how easy the fan brackets are to work with in this one. also the cable covers in the back for that extra clean look are nice but I think I'd be willing to sacrifice those and the back glass for a cheaper price
Hope they can deliver the case in time because their last case releases were all over the place. I really liked the lancool two mesh.
Crazy how well thought-out this thing is. I don't know if/when I'll ever built myself another PC, but this came will be "it" if I ever do.
Wow, I almost fell off my chair when I saw the Excel spreadsheet...thanks for making my day!
I have the White RGB Lancool II Mesh, and I modded my case to address some of the small shortcomings that I felt this case had. The Lancool III touches up on so many things I felt the Lancool II Mesh needed.
Space for front x3 140mm fans. The case technically had the space for it, just not in the way they implemented it.
Un-meshed air-gap under the front panel, such a mystery why it was there. I 3d printed a spacer to block this off.
I used a door draft stopper to fill the gaps where the cables route through on the motherboard panel. The grommets do this in the III. The sliding mechanism is a nice touch.
More space for shroud fans, but also the ability to move it forward to better match with the front of the case. I removed the flat panel the II has, and replaced it with a mesh.
Removable HDD cages. I drilled out the rivets to the mounts for my II. There are so many places to put 2.5" already, I don't need them at all.
I assume the USB-C front panel cable is included this time?
The II doesn't fit a radiator at the top too very well, as there is not enough gap. The huge and removable panel at the top of the III is great.
Done away with the magnetic mesh, I just removed mine on the II.
The lever to open the side panels are so nice, I wouldn't need my makeshift pull tabs
140mm back exhaust fan, can never have too much when you can have 6 intake fans.
The ability to mount the front panel IO to the bottom, absolutely perfect for my current setup, as I have set my PC on a shelf.
You can open the cable management panels without flipping down the bottom mesh panel, that always annoyed me in the II.
The bottom two mesh panels are removable, I have bent the bottom panels or nearly have so many times while building and modding my II.
More air vents for exhaust in general.
The button releasable mounting for the front fan cage. I didn't like the small thumb screws that were never really thumb-able due to their positioning in the II, even though the cage was flexible and helpful as a whole.
This list just keeps going and going. They have nailed the details on all those little things that I wanted my II to have. The III has those and more.
I like my II, but I have to say I have case envy now. I enjoyed modding my case to touch up on things, but the III just goes further, and I am really considering this as an upgrade.
Great video, I love my Lancool 2 mesh and I never thought I'd need a bigger case.
I'm sure the bigger 3 would be way easier for a custom loop. That cable management bar on the 3 is a cool feature. Also havinng a way to open the glass from the front is good but it seems like an flimsy clip.
Glad to see a case review, i miss seeing those on this channel, one suggestion is i would secure one more button on your shirt :)
Using the Lian Li 215 from the past one year and I absolutely love the 240mm fans on the front!
lain li is being really innovative not only on their cases but also on their fans, the fact that you can use 4 RGB fans at the same time and power all of them just by snapping them together and only using 2 cables is brilliant FOR CABLE MANAGEMENT. I think I found my new favorite case, I was debating on getting the new NZXT H7 FLOW, but after watching this video I just gotta go with the new LIAN LI CASE. GREAT VIDEO AS ALWAYS
I love the fact that it has so many options for storage. More cases need this
I love my LianLancool 2 Mesh with my 6 Uni-Fans! Has Amazing air flow! Can see the need for a bigger case for a 3090 or some easier custom water cooling! But not an enough "upgrade" to get this new one. Would still recommend the 2 Mesh or 3 if you need an amazing air cooled case!
My lancool 2 mesh fits my 3090 perfectly Fine with a front mounted radiator with push pull fans. There’s plenty of room,.
Lian Li is the best case company hands down, I got a cheap 205 Mesh and it has everything I need and also came with 2 140 ARGB fans on the front and 1 120 ARGB on the back, with a fan and argb controller installed and pre-routed. It's amazing.
@@jsteezus yeah I was nervous about fitting a 3080 and dust build up but I was pleasantly surprised was able to fit the 3080 and only clean it every 6 months
@@J-Vill I remember people posting doom and gloom about the dust build up, but it never wound up being more than any other airflow case out there.
I like my mesh II better. I like the full angled mesh front over the next smaller flat face only mesh. I don't need the 20% larger case. The II fits plenty of huge air coolers and large water cooling solutions and 3090 options. I love the Lancool II Mesh with my Ryzen 5950W which is currently overclocked on a huge aircooler. Might move to AIO cool just to see my Dark Hero motherboard more. lol.
that slap transition was great
Glad to see my favorite case maker on top again
So much innovation in this case. Beauty!
Great Video, Thank You!
As a lancool II mesh owner THIS IS INCREDIBLY EXCITING, that being said its more of a reformation, not a revolution. Which is not bad by any means.
@Bona It's also a gigantic, heavy case. Something no LC2 Mesh owner was asking for.
While I officially joined the Lian Li family with the Dan A4 H20, I'm still happy too see improvements to it'
s bigger ATX brothers. Hopefully we see such iterations for ITX later down the line.
Nice. Front Panel is awesome! Also Shracket is also good to have as airflow perspective.
Im still currently using the Lancool II Mesh Performance its actually an amazing case for the price this one looks like its going to be absolutely nuts for airflow as well
Wow. This seems like a bit of a leap forward in case design. So many cool little features packed in. Would definitely jump on this case if I was building.
Looks awesome, I'd love to try one out.
Great looking case. I like the function of the case. Looks amazing to build a system in.
This looks FANTASTIC. Especially for a first time builder like me, im so glad that i didnt jump on the first case i saw and ive only bought my RAM, storage, PSU and CPU cooler first before the case, mobo, CPU and GPU. Giving myself time to think and research the bigger ticket items with larger pricetags!
I was trying to find the cheapest case but then realized i don't want to get the cheapest! Loved this video - I'm sold! 🙌
I can honestly say that Lian Li has come such a long way and surpassed all other case manufacturers with there genius designs and engineering. The quality is superb and its so simple to use while still looking very sleek. Kudos to them
Yeah, I remember them back in the early 2000s as being that company with the fucking ridiculously expensive, impractical PC cases. Seeing what they are now is pretty damn impressive.
Cool case. Excellent review!
I run an all air cooled system in my Lian Lancool 2 Mesh with 9 Case fans, 6 of them Uni-Fans and my 3080 Asus TUF never goes over 65°C, definitely recommend!
Yeah, seeing the temperatures and performance figures from Lancool 2 Mesh owners is always impressive. The components basically have no chance of getting toasty.
Thanks for review! As I see, this is an ultimate case for perfectionists :))
I'm totally inspired by LIAN LI, their way of constructing and engeneering design!
Great review as always. I have a question though: did U mayhap test thermals with unifans? I have lancool II and lost of unifans and I surely would fit them in new case but I'm quite curious what temps will it contrive.
I ironically have had a first gen Lancool 2 for 2-3 years now, I've recently bought tons of parts to upgrade including a Hybrid 3090 Ti FTW3 that has a whopping 360mm rad and I was browsing eBay and found a brand new open box black Lancool 2 and bought it for $85 lol.... and now just pre-ordered this. I can understand OG people not feeling a need to upgrade from their Lancool 2's because IMO it's an imaculate case and will go down in the hall of fame IMO. I currently have a i7-8700k, 32gb TridentZ 4000mhz CL14, Hybrid 3080 FTW3 and a 280mm Capellix LCD cpu AIO with a total of 10 fans the layout and everything is fabulous and it stays very cool. The RGB strips for the Lancool 2 are the most gorgeous strips I've ever owned and I ended up buying two more along with a USB-C cable for the black one that in the mail haha. If you are in need of a Black or White original Lancool 2 in great like-new condition with accesories hit me up! I will sell one or the other! Can't wait for the lancool 3!
I've missed the Dmitry case reviews. Always my favourite videos
Was a huge fan of the Lancool II, am totally excited to do a build in the Lancool III !
Wow! This seems like end game for the mid-tower segment. Excellent .
Seriously, almost every checkbox has been checked off. A full complement of 140mm fans, almost all fan mounting surfaces are removable for easy installation of fans (all of which support 140mm fans), radiator support is addressed with additional space available for offset mounting/radiator thickness, a ridiculous amount of storage positions, modular storage mounts in the shroud (which is now easily removable entirely, see Techsource), swappable front IO, two different cable routing velcro straps for smaller/larger cables, a sliding panel to make it easier to route cables to the motherboard.
You're not kidding when you said this is basically the end-game for midtower cases. I guess Lian Li could make a version with 2 200mm and 1 140mm in the back.
Wouldn't the top fans be restricted by all that metal they added for the wide compatibility?
If I needed an ATX case, I’d definitely look at this. This seems like the upgraded version of Silverstone’s RL06, which I love for one of my computers since it has great airflow capability. Triple 140mm fans is very nice.
Damn, This thing looks super premium! Great Edit as always you guys & gals. Keep up the great work! Now if I only can buy all this stuff hahaha.
Bought a new case (Corsair 4000x) less than a a month ago and if I knew about this one I would have bought this one .. so impressed with all the engineering that went into this thing.
Very nice review Dmitry. Can you also please review CoolerMaster Cosmos C700M 30th Anniversary Edition please ?
Lol I just bought Lancool II Mesh, like a week ago, and then this one comes out… Really nice improvement, every cool feature of Lancool II looks to be cranked up to 11.
Although mine was significantly cheaper (and I didn’t intend to spend more than $120 on a case) so it doesn’t feell like missing out much.
Great review, thank you!
Thanks guys now I know what case to get for upgrading from my hot box InWin case
Just bought the 2 Mesh Performance 2 days ago for my new build. Guess I'll have to wait to check this out when I eventually decide to do a custom loop.
At last! Case reviews are the main reason I started watching HWC years ago. And lately there were very few of them with major case releases omitted :(
same.. the production style and quality is super high but quantity has become super low. Maybe Dmitri found some other better ways of income along with it so laid off on this a bit.
@@FirestormX9 production quality is one thing. But for me the main reason for those videos being so good is that all important aspects of the cases and their possibile drawbacks are covered well.
@@grzegorziwan5632 yeah they definitely are. Although GN do very good case reviews as well on that front and it's really difficult to surpass their level of detail in testing as a tech journalist. But for some reason, HWC just went super inclined into SFF cases and such and then on just kind of tapered off. I'd love more review videos by HWC of other cases as well but I dunno, I don't feel they have the motivation anymore for reasons unknown to me right now.
@@FirestormX9 GN is indeed good, but Steve makes the videos quite long usually. I prefer HWC in case of cases ;)
@@grzegorziwan5632 yeah i like the HWC style more as well, i think
Got mine today!
I have had a Lancool 2 from launch... and I recommended it to 4 of my friends who also built in it and I/We can safely say that we feel like we have the best case out of everyone we know. I bought the Mesh upgrade panel for £20 and added a pack of LL120's and it is basically Superstar quality!! If I needed a New case for a build... grab a Lancool 2 Mesh or The Lancool 3 in a heartbeat guys!! Its just too damn Good!!!! Much Love
looks like a great chassis, i can consider the white one for my next build. love it
I'm glad you compared it to the Lancool 2 Mesh. A brillian case. I wonder how it fares to the Phanteks G500A Performance.
I’ve been waiting you review some case chris pratt
Was about to order a mesh ii. Glad I seen this, where and when can I buy?
Finally a case that supports more than 2HDDs and it's not a homungous full tower one. This one is perfect for what I need. I can't believe I spent so many days looking for cases and when I gave up this video appeared in my feed. And wow, working on it looks so easy, which is the only complain I have about the Cooler Master NR600, which has great airflow, a lot of room for big components... but they set the board mounting holes too close to the top, making it really difficult to route the CPU power cable and any top fan ports in the board, and also there's barely a usable gap between the board panel and the back panel, making cable management considerably harder.
Looks great! Add a couple more front panel USB ports and it'd be just about perfect.
Wow this case is amazing!
The features n specs of these cases is amazing..maybe it is a good time for lianli to introduce variety of design...
Wow, this case seems to be excellent! Weight of a full tower cooler is not a concern for most people, as it doesn't need to be portable imo :)
this might be my next go to
I'm getting this!
That excel joke got me good lol
Would love to see your take on the NZXT H7 Flow
very very good review, i so like the Lian Li cases, the O11 is probably one of the best cases ever made
Seems great. Though the below chamber is a bit underutilized. Would love to see radiator mounts on each side of the below chamber.
Love the lancool 2 I have built several pcs in them. Now I wanna try the lancool3
Lol whole review one side and that Excel Sheet …after Born To Excel is on another level😂😂😂
Thanks for your video. Do you have a precise weight ? ... didn´t saw it at the homepage from Lian Li ... am i blind ? xD
I have the same hair as you and I hate mine but you actually made it look great, can you please tell me what product you use to make it look like that? Thanks!
Great video. Removable top alone makes me want to use this instead of the lancool 2 for my next build.
Just rewired my lancool 2 for upgrade. Tempted to go ahead and get this just for that removable top allowing easier access to the cpu power pins ( lancool 2 has decent clearance, but my motherboard is hard to work with).
@@joshuad6553 :) same exact thing, reaching the fan or cpu pwr header is essentially impossible once it's in the case. I'm using a big noctua air-cooler which makes it even worse. Good luck! :)
Strong magnets in proximity to HDDs. Brilliant.
They're not that close to the HDDs, and none of the Lancool 2 Mesh owners have reported issues with the HDDs (which had a cage even closer to the magnets) for the past 2 years.
Nice looking case, still can't beat the Phanteks P500A for my tastes. Full Noctua fans too, mmmm.
I cant wait for the new dan-lian li matx case
i just ordered one Lancool 3 in white 5 Minutes ago. Curious to see it tomorrow.
Brilliant review Dimitri, I do have one Question. On the Lancool II Mesh, the usb-c came as an optional extra which you had purchase separately, on the new case does it come with the case as standard?
Apparently it’s now standard as it should have been on the ii.
Looks great, personally i'm a little more excited for the updated 216, i'm a big fan of the 215.
complimenti, ottima recensione
That is a good option to place radiator forward just to hide it. In this way more free space will be for some interior decoration maybe.
Great case, but I'd love to see a version with a steel panel on the right hand side. There wouldn't be any need for internal cable covers, if there weren't a glass panel on that side. Even better, a steel panel on the other side as well with a meshed cut-out so that the graphics cards can directly exhaust hot air out of the side of the case. Final wish: The option to place the power supply vertically on the other side, so that it does not interfere with air-intake.
Nice improvements. Just miss the fan speed controller for non rgb version.
yeah I love this case, Gonna buy it for the family room pc that I am building
When u guys reviewing fractal pop air /silent?
damn. this is like the best case I've ever seen.
Did the fans that came with the case have a fan controller or would I need to buy one ? or can I plug directly into motherboard ?
Im copping this
What cpu cooler is that? I like how your able change the fan to lian li fan on cpu cooler
Thanks
I wish they would include the mesh dust covers. They’re out of stock everywhere
I like the features of this case but I feel like the top Mount could have more perforation or open spaces. A little restrictive compared to the front
Damn clever case
Nice review but, I would've like to have seen at least a mock build out with some of the larger radiators placed in the top and front in order to get a better idea of what custom loop or AIO setups would work well with this larger Lancool model...with all that being said I can't wait to build in this new version of Lian Li's Lancool series of cases as I've already built rigs in 4 others (2 in the non-mesh and 2 in the Mesh models).
Check out GearSeekers' and Christopher Flanagan's videos on the Lancool 3. Both utterly populated ALL fan mounting points while mounting AIOs as well.
@@RicochetForce Will do, thanks for the info :)
great video
Born to excel! I like it!
Please do a thermaltake tough air 510 review 🥺!
I'm debating between this and the Corsair 5000D Airflow any opinions on which one you think is best? My rig (ryzen 5800x, Evo 212 cooler, 32GB 3600mhz, WD gen4 500GB nvme, evga 3090 ftw3 ultra, 4tb hdd, RM1000x '2021' psu)
The plant inside the case is so Yesthetic. I know there's no GPU, but it looks amazing.
Hey what fans does it come with? Are they lian li unifans ?
So you can use the hard drive cages and 3 bottom fans ?
This looks like such a great improvement compared to the Lancool II Mesh that I have, probably doesn't justify an upgrade to it in my situation though. I really don't need nor have use for a full tower case.
