Super Saiyan 3 is NOT the transformation you want to use to try and conserve energy, Don
from how the anime portrays it, it seems to take up more energy than god mode and its weaker. That's how ineffective using it is.

@@Somerandomnobodyonyoutube He could have trained his body to use SSJ3 had he really wanted too, but he stated before that because of how draining SSJ3 is. He can only use it in otherworld with ease. Because when he mentioned in the Buu Saga how taxing it is to stay in SSJ3 form. You saw how bad he was sweating and fatigued he was when he was teaching Kid trunks and Goten the fusion dance.

@@silverlightning4995 Yes, i do remember that, but i also know it was draining on him at the time since he was only back for a day from otherworld when baba helped him visit earth for the tournament and when Vegeta went Majin. Because he used it twice during his visit, once again FatBuu, and the other time to show Goten and Trunks the transformation.
You know, it IS weird that the SSJ 3 transformation stayed with that issue, I woul've guessed that he must have overcome how taxing it is eventually, like how everyone overcame the limitations of their energy demanding skills (like Tien's Kikoho, or the Master Roshi's Mafuba), but guess transformations and abilities are very different.

SSJ blue is the " Saiyan " form of the God (red hair), he uses it since its more suited for fighting

Ssj3 is not the way to go brother, that transformation burns through energy a lot faster than all his other transformations. Goku states this fact during the majin buu saga. And on a side note I think about the transformation as a skill tree. The ssj transformations that we know and love from Z are one set of transformations and the godki are a separate branch. The red haired transformations would be like the base form and SSBlue would be the godki version of SSJ1

Don another thing to think about in the grand scheme of using power in this tournament.....its 48 mins long, the whole first two episodes is like what...a min of action there's no sense whipping out all your strength in a royal rumble right away cause you'll get tired out

So .. the thing about using super saiyan blue instead of super saiyan god. We know that simple transformations (before achieving god) boosts the power levels like when goku turned super sayiyan his power multiplied 50 times but with super saiyan blue ... he can not only amplify the god form but can also control all the harnessed ki so precisely that he can fight with krillin with power almost similar to him (he hasn't perfected it yet so he's not too precise here) and can fight vegeta at full power too.
They did this because red gives the user a slimmer and youthful body so the animator would have to animate and draw every single time it was kinda like ss3 it was just hard to animate so akira made it to where he wrote it off as its far to energy draining even tho blue kioken is far more physical taxing than ss3 but it’s easier to animate cause it’s literally just blue with a added red aura😂

Imo the whole reason he doesn't go Super Saiyan 3 or God anymore is because there's no point. If he's fighting someone in base and needs a boost, he'll go Super Saiyan. If he isn't beating them with that, then Super Saiyan 3 wouldn't beat it either as it's not a large enough boost in power. The same logic goes for God/Blue.

So to break down the forms on simple terms,
Red is God Ki unlocked (Super Saiyan God)
Blue is like adding Super Saiyan ONTOP of God-Ki (red)
So Blue is Red but Super Saiyan. Kaio Ken on top of that multiplies it just that much more.
As for the Super Saiyan 3 being "better than SS2" its just not.
There are different give and takes based on the super saiyan form they use.
SS1 was a massive powerup, SS2 added another massive powerup ontop, and SS3 just basically added a "Physical" powerup
so yeah SS3 may seem like it should be "better" but its actually just "physically stronger" so yeah he punches harder, but his Kahmehameha is weaker than SS2 and his Ki Blasts are weaker than SS2. Also SS3 using an IMMENSE amount of energy compared to SS2 for not that much more of a powerup.
Its basically like Trunks Buff Ass form Vegita hates a lot.
So yeah them using SSG(red) more would be dope but it also doesnt make sense to use it if SSB(blue) exists. Its like being hard stuck SS1 when you know you can use SS2, why wouldn't you?

Incase nobody has said it, I believe every universe has a copy of stuff from each other. So how frost is equivalent to frieza, Kale isn’t just similar to Broly, she literally is her universes broly (legendary super saiyan).

In the Dragon Ball Universe combination attacks like the (cringe) "Triangle Danger Beam" gets multiplied in power a lot. Which means that Goku and Vegeta actually needed Blue and a combination attack of their own to overpower them. God wouldn't have been enough so it makes perfect sense.
I’m glad they didn’t bring back Cell. Bro would have found a way to incorporate cells from every one of these multiversal fighters and turned into some unstoppable abomination.

Super Saiyan God (red hair form) was actually achieved through the ritual, which is why it's only seen briefly for the first time when the transformation was introduced back in the Battle of Gods movie.
The only other time Goku used the god (red hair form) is during the DBS Broly movie. Vegeta is the only other Saiyan to use the god (red hair form) in DBS Broly movie.
So SSJ God blue hair is the evolution to the SSJ God red hair.

Hey @DonTownsend, the dragon ball super manga and anime are different, and the way super saiyan god is treated in each is different. In the manga, super saiyan god (or ssg as I will refer to it from now on) is treated as an actual transformation, like super saiyan 1, and not as a base form power-up, so in the manga Goku and Vegeta transforms into ssg a lot. In the anime, however, ssg is treated more as a base form power up (when the ssg form went away in the battle of gods movie and arc, it made his base form super strong, which is why Goku, in super saiyan, is still able to contend with beerus in the anime continuity) and its kinda unclear if Goku can transform back into the form, until this arc happened, which finally brought back the ssg form back for the anime continuity. Also, as a side note, I agree that they should've shown us other forms more often, specifically super saiyan 3 (not ssg because it was reintroduced in this arc), but ssb (super saiyan blue) is the definitive form of dragon ball super, for now at least, and animating super saiyan 3 is harder than doing ssb, which is just super saiyan with blue hair dye, or super saiyan 1 and 2...

The Manga acually used the God(red) a-lot more before they mastered (Blue) in the Goku Black Arc. But the Anime ignored all that.
It's not that they ignored it, it's just that toriyama let toei do super how they want to. He gave them the major events and toei would fill in the blanks in between.
