I saw this routine in my early teens on an episode of "That's Hollywood" I never knew who these guys were but I never forgot what I saw that day; it was electric! It took me till today at 60 years old to find it; Thank You CZcams!!!
Berry Brothers, dancers: Ananias "Nyas" Berry (18 Aug. 1913-5 Oct. 1951) and James Berry (c. 1915-28 Jan. 1969), both born in New Orleans, Louisiana, and Warren Berry (25 Dec. 1922-10 Aug. 1996), born in Denver, Colorado.More information: www.anb.org/articles/18/18-03672.html
Thank you for the link to their joint mini-biography. The article talked of a dance competition with the Nicholas Brothers. THAT must have been well worth the price of admission: two fabulous sets of dancers. I had not known of the Berry Brothers before this evening, and I am in awe.
I really enjoy black rhythm tap. I have been teaching dance for many years. Sorry gang but I was not impressed with this performance. There were problems with the synchronization of some of the moves and actually they danced very little. The choreography with the kicks was weak. When they turned they did not necessarily turn the same amount of rotations. I just see a Nicholas brothers poor imitation.
I hear so much about the Nicholas Brothers( who are awesome) but these guys deserve their props too. Wonderful.
Supposedly they had a battle at the cotton club
@@charlaynebrowe8443, what does that mean?
It's why I am here!! Just heard about them!! Wonderful!!
@@charlaynebrowe8443 The Nicholas Brothers were far better hoofers than the Berry Brothers while the latter were far more acrobatic.
These brothers never cease to amaze me
No trio can dance like this in today's world

There are no taps on their shoes. It's called soft shoe dancing.
Great, CLEAN talents - unlike today's rap crap.
@@BuckyBrown-lt4ry i definitely agree
Sooo cool!
Lol at the tripping over thr chair
I love this number. And the movie "Lady Be Good" is soooo fine :) don't understand why only 6.4 at imdb, should be at least 7.3 or more
Jeez is that Phil Silvers, Sergeant Bilko???
holy crap
get me eddie murphy! we need to send these guys up. or jimmy fallon? but seriously...that is some athleticism
The nicholas brothers had a dance battle with them and won
Si estos Superchocolos fueran de esta era ,Circo del Sol los tendría de primerísimas figuras.
I didn't know Phil Silvers conducted a band
It sounded like Phil Silvers for sure. On a side note Glen Miller Band has some of the Nicholas Brothers here on CZcams.
Sucks never heard of the berrys? Y?
Exactly
The way black men wore their hair back then 😍
thank you Eric Weinstein and Joe Rogan

Really ? Let’s see you do that
alright I will be anxiously awaiting an upload of YOU doing anything even remotely close to a Berry brothers performance.
