Did you know that 'Mod Tops' were a thing before this video? 🤔
Maybe you want to checkout YT MOTIONAUTO TV hi sell bunch off his car right now
Yes extremely rare extremely cool.
Yes, my friend has one here in New Jersey.
I'm guessing the guy was asking too much for everything. Didn't make much sense just to buy one when theres was 70. That snake skin woulda turned more than 175 at the barret I bet.
Absolutely not that blew my mind and I'm old enough I should have known that
The passion these guys have for saving these cars is pretty amazing.
Yeah it's otherwordly, especially the kid. This kid is so hyped and know a lot about these old junkers and everything about them more then his father that is so otherwordly to see. Today his age are bunch of zombies stuck on phones looking at memes and mindless tiktok or wtf are those called so yeah it's like he time traveled or something ...
I was in Dallas for my honeymoon last week, and went to Gas Monkey Garage twice hoping to run into you! Now I know where the great Richard Rawlings was on Friday! Haha.
The love Richard got from those 5150 guys was amazing. Salute got my respect💪👍
31 minutes of Richard with a beer in his hand. 😂👍🇨🇦
I’m curious to see what the Graveyard Cars guy would have to say about these cars.
Nice to see you showing the mopars a little love lately. They're badass cars.
I like chevys but when it comes to older cars like late 70's and older it's hard to be a fan of just one brand when every brand had a beautiful car that looked amazing.
Agree 🔥
"This week on Coffee Walk... we find the holy grail MOPAR!!! And get this... it is the long lost Mod Top!!!" - Dennis Collins
You've learned how badass the Mopars are.. I'm sure you knew all the engineering that went into them for drag racing... Which is why I fell in love with them. Not to mention there's no better sound than a Mopar
Mopar 5150, thank you for saving the past and the future of Mopars🙏👍
" in Mopar world there are no parts cars"..never a more accurate quote ever sor!
(*Sir, that is)
People fail to realize, at this level, cars are really only body tags. They can get some really extensive restoration. Having original block and correct running gear is always a plus.
That white/black Charger is sweet! Beautiful! The guy's at Mopar 5150 seem really cool.
Beer at 0630 😂😂😂 in the end… it’s Friday and we gotta get home and get cold beers! You have been drinking beers all day, love your shows, but take care of yourself man, you’re no spring chicken anymore ❤
I'm the guy who commented in your recent video, about you needing wireless microphones on all the participants in the videos and I'm pleased to see you got that sorted. However, now that they are wearing the microphones you now need to mix the audio better. The MOPARS man in this video was way too loud in the mix. Hope you appreciate the feedback.
Grandma's table cloth , but my inner geek knows it must be saved 🤓 extra line on the lotto is my only hope...
These guys have the right attitude. In the Mopar world no car is too far gone.... once they are destroyed the total number of classic Mopars are reduced for good.
Rum runner would make a killer gasser, Hilborn stacks through the hood , hemi powered
Love it; its like having another Graveyard Cars.
I had a 67 Coronet black with a white top for like 25 years. Loved seeing so much Mopar's in this video! Love that you saved that one Richard! Peace
Beer kicked in hard right about here 28:28 🤣🤣🤣
This and the last episode are bang on the money. Great content. To see some more money put into the vehicles and a little more minor restoration to the vehicles before resale would be good to see. This is great stuff and much better than previous content
Yes I like them. This was a fantastic vid
Great video...would love to see Richard out in the field doing more "finds" like Dennis does. Two different viewpoints of cars...love it ! TIMBO
He’s been doing it for years! He probly taught Dennis how to do it, lol 😂
Mopar people are always so passionate. Love when they know all the numbers
WOW!
So many classic and rare cars in one building.
Man, I'm glad somebody has the ability to save those old beauties.
I was squirming in my chair seeing all those awesome cars that used to prowl the streets of my town and the several towns nearby. It was great be twenty in 1966.
There were some roads just out of town where we could move to and have a couple races before the cops showed up. Bless their hearts, they were worried we might have a wreck and get hurt. They thought they were protecting us. We always posted sentries to warn us when the cops were heading our way. Flash the headlights really fast as a warning and we would bug out. We had to find at least three places outside each town so cops never knew which one we would go to.
The surprise was sometimes the Dart with a small block. Man those could be made quick with good tuning and headers. One guy had a Dart with a 340, he found a six pack manifold for it. Of course till he opened the hood we assumed a four barrel. He had a shop fine tune and balance it, install a hot cam and it had headers tuned for max torque. The headers dumped into four exhaust pipes, four Hush Thrush mufflers. It had an awesome tone to it. If I remember correctly the rear end was a 391 suregrip mated to sticky Mickey Thompson fat tires. That little Dart embarrassed some big block cars. But it wasn't stock either!
My fun car was a 1969 Road Runner. I had a shop fine tune the distributor and carb. The engine was stock. He jetted the carb with bigger jets and had me run a slightly hotter spark plug. I put free flow mufflers on it that had a deeper tone. A few guys accused me of having a 440 in it. It was a four speed and had a 323 sure grip axle. After he worked on it, I swear if felt like it had another 30 horse. I could get the jump on a GTX 440 automatic right off the line and would stay ahead at the 1/4 mile. It was gaining on me but could never quite catch me before the 1/4. I learned to shift to second gear without releasing the gas pedal. Just shift as fast as possible and slide left foot off the clutch. BANG, it made a noise like a truck hit me from behind and it would lunge forward. It was faster than all the Road Runners I came up against. One had a 411 rear axle, he was gaining on me till I hit second and whoosh I was instantly a whole car length ahead. He hit third before me and then I started pulling away. I think he was geared too low.
It sure was great to be young and crazy in the 60's.
Great story sir.
You brought me back to teens and early 20s, when I got my first muscle car.
A 1999 pontiac Trans Am. Thanks
Lite beer catching up with Richard.
What a cool guy & great crew with a passion to keep the old Mopar's alive.
Yes. when I was a kid there was a mod top dart a friends mom had given him. the first thing he did to it was pulled into our auto shop and in just a few hours no more flowers!
I’m completely shocked Mr. Richard that you only bought one car 😳. 51/50 guys are coming to Texas, you’ll be giving them more money soon enough!!! 👍 Great video
Come on Richard get the Mopars And get him back to Texas I have faith in you you're a hell of a business man
Richard is really working on that beer belly 😆
Yeah considering how fit his wife is he should be ashamed! 🤷
@@LewisRhymes She can always leave him.
I bet he gets a lot of money for that. Drinking beers and getting paid 😅🎉
This seems perfect for GYC. I wonder if Richard knows mark personally. No one ever talks about those guys when it comes to mopar.
When I's a teen in the 70s I use to pinstripe people's cars and my daddy came up with the idea of using the thin masking tape to just go crazy with the type of pinstripeing that's on that car. He also painted pictures on people's cars and van's cause it was a thing in the 70s lol. I don't remember exactly which year the factory started putting pictures on em at the factory. It was mostly fully loaded van's. Most people bought plain van's and my daddy put the pictures on em...I can't remember the last time I pinstriped a car but it had to of been in the early 80s...I also remember the mod tops but I 4got all about em cause I thought the owners took em to Kustom Van and had em done thataway cause I think 1 was all I'd ever seen and it was only at a drag track once that I can remember...
Texas awaits the arrival of this cool shop.
Helen definitely serves beer. Maybe not at 9am but it's there.
Superb Vlog !! Richard ....... What An Outstanding Group Of People !!.............. Bless You All ............. Peace
Wow what a treasure full of great projects and awesome rides
Little German towns all over the USA are wonderful nuggets of culture.
God bless these Mopar guys for saving these treasures the world needs more like them
I absolutely love what Richard has done with the show. To think that there used to be a very expensive producer and film crew. A huge team I'm sure to film the show. To set up shots and kind of script the show. Richard has proven that Even a Monkey can produce a show.
Does Richard ever agree on a price C B
Man, Richard is such a cool dude
Damn Richard, drinking at 6:45 a.m? Sounds like me on vacation
Mopar or no car… love it
Richard this building that the morpar guys are in was a skating ring when I was a kid. Cleveland and Helen is my home town. I retired in Atlanta as a cop I came back home to police in Helen. I was working that weekend you were up and I wished I would have ran into you. A few years I came out to TX and you took care of me at the GM restaurant.
Glad to see the Mod/Floral top cars getting some attention. I bought a 69 Dart and didn't know it was a 1 of 25 V1H car til later. Nobody thought the car was worth fixing so nobody bothered to decode the fender tag!!! Hopefully she gets some work done in the next few weeks and I can start uploading some new vids of the progress!!!
The crash pad sounds AWESOME and the Mopars too GET YOU SOME OF THAT *WHOO* 👊🏼😎🤙🏼
My Grandfather had a 68 Coronet White w/ Black Vinyl top, then he traded that in for a 75 Chevrolet Caprice Classic, a step down in Coolness ! They didn’t have “White Claw” back then but maybe Miller Lite !
If I was richards age, and as much beer as he drinks, I’d be a little worried and back off from drinking 🤷♂️
Yeah I think he’s fine his kids are all in college or graduated he is a multi millionaire not much else to do then buy cars and drink beer
Helen GA serves all kinds of beer. I have been enjoying Octoberfest in Helen for 20+ years it is a great time. If you catch the bug go to Frankenmuth MI
Dang, a smaller version of @Graveyardcars … sweet!!
These guys should reach out to Mark at Graveyard Cars. I'm sure he would be interested in some items.
Cool cars. That building though looks as rough as some of the cars outside. Would like to see these vehicles finished.
Man! You can find some rigs, good to have the connections you've amassed over the years. Good luck in the hunt!
I knew about the gator tops but had never heard of a mod top until now.I'm not even surprised.during the muscle car era nobody built crazy option cars like Mopar did.
Id like to see the Rum Runner on the road put a big engine in it some crazy huge wheels like HRE fix up the holes and interior .Thatl be the best patina car in the world i recon .It will look amazing driving down the road in it
And you can still park it out side any one of your restaurants to pull in the punters
I just like how he don’t let his emotions get to him it’s hard to see if he likes that car or not 😂
Hard to tell if he likes ya when talking to him too LMFAO
That gator roof 440 is GORGEOUS
Ah..played many times in Helen Georgia in the 80-90's. It was a party town for sure. Geat trout fishing as well.
Just a great episode, thanks
Awesome video!!! Don't quite know what it is, but classic Mopars have a fan base like no other make! 33 years ago, I purchased a '69 Coronet R/T
440/4spd/Dana before the prices went thru the roof, and I can't imagine selling it at any price! They are very special cars!
Nope, Richard, never knew THAT...but I learn something new evertime I watch you and Dennis too!...(bless y'all)
Greetings from Australia. I love these guy’s passion!
Love the MoPar's! I am pretty sure that guys and some women will still get into saving and driving old cars 100 years from now.
greetings from italy, definitely we are fanatics about true U.S.A. car, especially because when we start to come out from poverty and rebuild our country, american dream was clearly visible from your car, your life style and so on, during the 60's and over... one little issue, our street are too narrow and fuel here cost 2 times than US!
This was pure gold!
Helen is great tourist trap. Fun weekend getaway in the mountains, but someone gave you bad info. Most of the county is dry, but Helen certainly isn't. They have a Hofbrauhaus, and multiple other Biergartens literally right around the corner of the fried cheese cafe.
Being from a predominantly Mopar family, I’m drooling over this video.
I’m 20 min from Cleveland and love going to Helen!! Never had a problem getting beer there! Hope you enjoyed the trip!
Great video! I used to live on Dacula, GA, I have visited Helen, GA many times, been to Cleveland, GA home of the Cabbage Patch Kids, Vidalia, GA for the onions, Woot! GYSOT! God Bless!
This is why we audio check. Great video otherwise. I’m always down for more mopar!
great video you guys are lucky to live in a country where you can find these rare mopars in decent condition . i remember walking through scrap yards in the late 70's amazing how many mopars in great condition were in the scrap pile just because they got 8mpg nothing much else was wrong with them
Love gas monkey!!! Was there in Dallas couple months back would love to go back!
Keep on keepin on Richard.
Love it man!! Keep them videos coming! Have to find you something up here in East Central Illinois.
LOVE THIS SHOW!!!
But don't need music playing constantly whilst they are taking about the cars guys 🤟
Love the videos. Dont care for the background music during the entire video. Keep the content coming
Gettin hammered with a celebrity, looking at cool cars... Now, that's life !!
Never heard of
ModTop car!! Metro Detroit Loves you guys!!!! G
More than one million subscribers, congratulations!!!🎉
In CA, 5150 (also name of Van Halen album) is the law for involuntary 72 hour psychiatric hold - danger to yourself or others. I have known 3 people who drank beer constantly. In their 50s, their face got ugly, turned a funny yellow color and got puffy. Lots of physical problems, when your blood is not filtered, you get problems from head to toe. They died within a couple years. The first indication is when you don't want food any more, just have a beer instead. Maybe life is not worth living without constant beer. It is to me, but that's just me.
I have a 1967 Coronet 500. 383/727. Runs drives and is all there! Nicer car than that pile. Mine is $13,500
Hellcats and Demons, Mopar came along way😅
Yes! But did not care much for their style. Had a 70 440 6 pack Cuda with factory vinyl top. In Dixie and on the Coast, but vinyl tops run from top down.
Respect to the 5150 guys 👍👍👍
Richard a’int never looked so rough
In Mopar world, there's no parts cars 🤣🤣 Sing it, brother 💪🏽
You should visit craved cars with mark he knows his mopars better than anyone
Yay can't wait to see some restos
That’s awsome you got to visit the good ol town where I grew up!! 👍 great content
Enjoy this video and see all your videos bud keep up the amazing work
Glad you are back
When Richard says steal, he's referring to the act of Strategically Transferring Equipment to Alternative Locations to the lowest bidder....Merica and Miller Lites for everyone
LOL great description Vin🍻
Might have to steal that definition 🤣
@Gas Monkey & Richard Rawlings I will allow the use of this only if I can get a shoutout when the boss man cracks a cold one please. I'm a simple man, hot cars, hot woman, and cold beer
@@vinnybag-o-donuts4362 hey Vinny at least you got yourself a great reply back and not just a TextMe on telegram LOL 🤣
@@truckerkevthepaidtourist I'm blessed for that 🙏 cracked a Lite once I saw it bro. Currently laying in the sleet of upstate NY swapping rotors and calipers on my Electric Green Civic 🙃 damn Texas weather sounds amazing
