I hate when people say biohazard when it is absolutely a gas
The man who rescued the Truck Driver is a true Hero. Just before I watched this video, I watched one that happened in California, where the Tanker crashed killing the Driver.
Thank you road crew save that man's life!
I just came across this video I remember this happening. I saw it in my rear view mirror. It was crazy.
South Metro Fire Rescue!
They have their own CZcams channel full of awesome fire videos, crazy to see them in this one.
@@PalmBeachCountyFireBuff you can see the full dash cam here czcams.com/video/m0aAwG2Je6E/video.html
wish they'd start to hire news reporters that actually know what's going on
I am glad that the driver was pulled out, koodos to the construction worker who saved the drivers life. The ARFF truck putting the fire out I believe is a T300.. Awesome truck.
It’s south metros red 3, they did a fleet Friday on it their pio channel.
This was not a "fuel tanker" this is a fuel and lube truck which is used in fueling and lubing heavy construction equipment it has minimal diesel fuel along with engine oil hydraulic fluid coolant grease.
He didn't slam into a median either. That concrete barrier is called a 'jersey wall'.
Great job to the rescuer and finally someone that can speak proper without using a bunch of "ums" and such
Brave soul saving the trucker's life.
Watching the firetruck put out the flames is really satisfying.. o-o
the guy doing the interview works for the new outlet
There is no 'large explosion' there, you want a large explosion, go watch the PEPCON plant go Ka-Boom. THATS a large explosion.
If I was on the phone with any of these reporters, I'd have a hard time not telling them to shut up. Their commentary is far less than useless.
How’d the witness know he lost brakes? Maybe the driver fell asleep or was distracted.
@ Annette Melnychuk ~ How do I know, you ask? Because I used to haul gasoline in Denver and I know first hand how Colorado drivers drive. Which leads me to my more plausible explanantion. And that is, more than likely the tanker driver was cut off and he over-corrected resulting in the firey crash.
Maybe next time you should not accuse people of being trolls while performing oral copulation and look at the facts objectively yourself!
very rare to an ARFF rig on the scene of a tanker fire on i25
+Chris Tenorio It was probably the closest available unit with high volume foam equipment and large enough tanks to have a good shot at extinguishing a burning tanker in one shot. Also the design of this tanker looks a little strange so I wonder if maybe it was an aircraft refueling tanker loaded with AvGas or jet fuel which is exactly what ARFF equipment is designed to handle...
@@gosportjamie The Centenial Airport is about five miles away or so. So the airport crash truck was nearby.
Metro fire actually dosnt house their ARFF units at the airport they are in normal stations across their jurisdiction
@@paulhindenberg6364 south metro doesn’t house the units at the Airport they are housed across their jurisdictions in normal fire houses
I'm pretty sure there's a video of this from the other side, from another hotel window. I don't remember the road crew pulling the driver out with his leg on fire. This video is from the driver side and there's no way the guy talking could have seen the other side.
What's that ARFF rig putting down? Powder?
@@plus5514 They were called out because it was a special circumstance. Yes, they are an airport unit, but the normal fire department couldn't fight the fire with water. It was a chemical fire, so they needed the special firefighting foam the airport fire truck carried.
If this is a big fire what will you say about Beirut blast???
If the ARFF would work at the same time with DCP and foam they would almost for sure extinguish this in under 2 minutes.
I know this was over a year ago but still To all Firefighters 🚒🔥across America IF it weren't for U Major Fires like this won would never be put out thank U so much for your Sacrifices 😎 🇺🇸👍🏽!!!!!!!!
I like the dry chem deck gun.
I think its funny that no one noticed that the fire was so bad that the fire department called an airport for help because that's a airport ARFF from South Metro fighting the fire
South Metro houses their ARFF trucks at their normal stations and respond to the airport instead of housing them at the airport.
South Metro houses Red 1 & Red 3 both ARRF Airport crash trucks at station 35 north of the airport. Red 2 is at Station 44 on the South side of Centennial General aviation Airport.
That’s actually a good response time for the airport FD.
Lookup South Metro Fire Rescue here on CZcams, they have a whole video on the truck you see here.
Wow
why only 1 water truck?:-(
So he drove with his breaks locked up.
Not checking vest on reer ends oil.on brakes
I can condense it for you.....a truck crashed into barrier, burst into flames...road crew pulls man from wreckage..see video🤦
That hade to hart
Look up the definition of explosion.
I assume you have the Internet.
Happened to lose his brakes?!?!?! That's not how Air Assisted Braking systems work. No air = FULL Braking pressure, locked up brakes
Not necessarily. When you're loaded and you lose breaks you don't stop
While it is rare, trucks do loose their brakes occasionally. That's why you'll sometimes see runaway truck exits on the highway. They're designed to bring a speeding truck to a stop without harm to the driver or severe damage to the truck, in case it's carrying hazardous materials.
You can see the full dashcam of this incident here. czcams.com/video/m0aAwG2Je6E/video.html
Looks like a very straight road ?
If the brakes failed, why did he not just keep rolling straight to a stop
No explosion
Todo bueno

Hot time in denver.🔥🔥🔥🚨🚒😲😬😩😞.
What was that fire truck spraying? Deodorant?
It's called purple K powder. When I'm operating the ARRF crash truck, we pefer to call it PKP. We carry 500 pounds of it on the truck.
periodistas gritando noticias
People always saying "Large explosion" when a tire flies off the rim.
You want to see a large explosion go watch the footage from the 2015 Tianjin fire
Tianjin was spectacular but that said many people died in that explosion. Very sad because human error was blatant.

Red 1 name off the ARFF truck
Pulver? Die Amis sind echt drauf 🤣🤣
Hab mir auch gedacht, das das was die da verwenden ja kein Wasser ist ^^ Gibts sowas bei uns überhaupt in Löschfahrzeugen?
"fireball hazard biowaste" .... and the title ... Fuel truck.
Guys we're not all ammericans... less dramatization and more REAL facts.
About the driver: really u are driving a FUEL TRUCK it catch in fire and u stay inside for 5-7 min till your leg catch fire and only when the GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD SAMMARITAN hero save u u stay in the cabin???? cmooooon
That 'median' is called a jersey wall.
Больше толку если посцышь чем от этого порошка.
😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
I want to slap this guy. Biohazard? Where the hell did you get that from? It's definitely a petroleum product. My guess is, it was either a wheel bearing or dragging brakes that started the whole problem. Most likely starting at the back of the trailer. Just speculation based on experience. Nasty never the less.
When most cars become electric, there will be only a handful of tankers left to transport oil for other purposes. No more gas trucks. A lot less risk rolling on the tarmac.Ontopic: Kudos to that hero. Hope the guy recovers OK.
PAUL. raelly ! how do we make electricity? by using a lot of fuel. those huge generators that produce electricity run can off of fuel. will need even more trucks on road
@@charlieproctor6533 Read into gas generators and efficiency compared to Internal combustion engines. Then you'll understand.
@@paulmichaelfreedman8334 Consider the extreme danger to firefighters and passengers when the batteries catch on fire in electric cars and the danger in putting those fires out and you're just trading one bad situation for another. They will require all fire departments have special equipment that uses this type of foam only or halon type exginguishing material as well as special protective gear for firefighters to protect them from the hazardous fumes given off by the burning batteries.
The ignorance of the American fire disservice. That fire needed to be drowned in FOAM not a powder that was blown away by the energy of the fire.
I hope not to need a fire rescue in the south metro area if that's the kind of engine they can count on

@@fire48pw Brent it seems like we're colleagues. I don't have such a wide experience as yours since I've been working as an airport firefighter for only 22 years, the last 10 of which as a crash tender instructor. As far as I can see these fighters are using either PKP or Halotron and you know pretty sure that despite their excellent extingushing power they are not the best solution in open air/windy scenarios. Waterfoam is always the best option for open class B fires both because it can suffocate huge amounts of burning fuel both because it can be used to control the spilling. As you can see the first minutes, the most important when trying to avoid an explosion, are ineffective, a total waste of extinguisher. I personally don't know that kind of equipment, that's for sure not available in Europe, but I reckon it was not the best suited and maybe the staff needed some more trainig. My statement is not meant to be disrespectful towards those colleagues
@@d8889 OK I get that. The best thing to do would have been the use of both at the same time. That Crash Truck is equipped to do that. Here in the US I think we have a problem with using the full design capabilities of what they can do. Even the Manufacture says this. T0 some degree this fire here has a 3 denominational fire going on. Hopefully they learned from this fire and implement some changes. I was a bit frustrated watching the attack. That powder will follow the foam stream. Very effective tactic when used correctly. My Dad was a Crash fire fighter for 33 years with the Air Force. He dealt with a tremendous amounts of Crash Firers During his career . Good chatting with you!

The person who rescued the driver is a hero, risked his own live to save someone else.
Some people can't live with themselves if they didn't do such a thing. What an unbelievable amount of guilt to carry on your shoulders if you feel you can rescue someone from such a fate. You can develop some very severe mental problems from witnessing such a death. It can really screw you up permanently.
