- Hi Ladies,
In this video I share my experience with the Paragard Copper IUD from insertion to the removal process. I had it in for a total of 3 years and removed it to start trying for our second baby.

Thank you for sharing that and glad you were able to conceive after this video. :-) My paragard was a breeze and I left it in for 11 years. No issues whatsoever.
It took several months but other than that it was fine! I’m glad to hear it was fine for you too
Did you feel nauseous after the IUD removal ?
@@mtvaldez77 No, I did not.
Thank u for sharing ur experience I've had mine for almost 3 yrs and the smell and heaviness is ridiculous. I believe I'll be removing mine soon.
I’m glad I wasn’t the only one who had the same experiences you did too! Good luck 👍
Thank you for sharing your story !its so helpful to my journey been holding off from kids till marriage … but i also experienced such unpleasant symptoms and constant pain ready to let it ho now 😢!!
Me too. The bleeding and cramps are horrible!
The things we women go through! ❤️
Yes, when they say your period will be heavier they should say "your period will be VERY HEAVY NOW". I have to use a tampon, an overnight pad and period panties while on my period and I still bleed through. It's insane. And your period is longer, and the heavy periods last many days of the cycle. UGH. I'm over it
I’m glad I wasn’t the only one experiencing these symptoms. They’re one of the main reasons I wanted to get it out but mine is extremely heavy only on days 1-2 and it tapers off..
@@azawms mine is heavy for days 1-5! Plus I have cramping and spotting for like a week before my period too and cramping often just randomly!. No thanks! I just got it removed. I'm 39 with no kids . I've gone this long knowing how not to get pregnant without an IUD draining me of all my blood each month! I just got it removed. LOL
Has anybody had like a period for like a month?? Ive had mine for little over 5 months and this period has been loooong. I heard that periods usually get regular after the 6months. I contacted the doctor and they said to take a pregnancy trst and check for the string. I tried checking for the string but i feel like my finger isnt long enough and i yet have to take a test. I dont think im pregnant cause i dont feel any symptoms and i been bleeding for a month. But im just waiting for an appointment to get checked.
I'm so glad I'm a man
im thinking about removing my nexplanon (had it for 2 years this month) for the copper iud but scared of getting preggers, i have never had scares with nexplanon so im scared that the copper wont be as effective even tho its supposed to be 99%
Trust me, it’s *very* effective. 😘
But you can also talk to your doctor about it. I never had any concerns because we didn’t use any other contraceptives at all during this time.
@@azawms that’s good im glad it worked for you ! did you use the withdrawal method while on the iud ? i rarely have my bf use the withdrawal method & i’ve heard so many horror stories from other girls saying they got pregnant on the copper iud and with the way i have sex…it scares me lol
I was on depo and hated it.. just scheduled my appointment to have paragard put in (december 3rd) and i’m nervous.. 7 months postpartum
Good luck mama! Just some uncomfy feeling during insertion and some cramping after but other than that it should be just fine :)
Good luck! You’re gonna do great :)
For how long you had it in if u don’t mind me asking ? Otherwise I like the way to explained your experience with it 🥰🤗
Thank you. I had it in for about 4 years. About 10 months after the get pregnant again.
did you have periods after removal? i removed mine aug 4th had one period aug 15th and havent gotten a period for sept going on oct now. not sure if its normal. negative preg tests..
I did get my period but there are a couple of months when I didn't get my period as well. I thought I was preggers but nope. It just takes a while for your periods to regulate again. Mine took about 8 months.
Hi, I had same experience with that copper iud. I have baby then we don't want any other baby soon. So I choosed copper iud same experience. I had 4 years with that iud.
Now I removed it last April- 2021 to plan for next week. I have suddenly hyperthyroid. I start to took a tablet and thyroid is under control still 8 months I m not consive baby..
May I know after remove iud. Within how many months you got pregnant?
Please relay
Sorry to hear about your hyperthyroid! It took us about 9 months. I had it removed in nov and got pregnant in September.
@@azawms ok.. thank you for your reply & letting me know for my answer
How were your periods after you got it out? Did they go back to as they were before?
Yes, after I had it removed, my periods went back to normal. A lot less heavy as it was when I was on the iUd.
You said you kinda had the blues, did that go away after getting it out?
It did for me!!!
After removal did ur period come back to normal. Cos it's 9 months since I removed mine my period has really been scanty it comes monthly but very scanty
It took a while for it to regulate. It'll come monthly but the flow is much less than before. I tried getting pregnant after removal and it took me about 10 mths to finally get pregnant.
My period is still irregular after almost having my copper iud for almost a year. Does your period regulate anytime? It’s also irregular like 2 times a month or not at all.. please help😐
I have had some months when I missed my period completely (no pregnancy) but it went back to normal after. I'd suggest calling your doc just to make sure everything is normal! Good luck.
Did your period go back to normal after removing it?
Yes it did. It took a few cycles, but it did readjust to normal.
Did you bleed after removing it and how long for as I got my removed and 2 nd day still spot bleeding
Just some spotting for a couple of days. Check with your dr if you’re unsure!
