Imtiaz bhai, I came to this country (Houston Tx) when I was about 11 years old. Didn't speak 1 word of English then. When I started middle school they put me in ESL Level 1 classes. I stayed in ESL classes upto Level 2. Never went to Level 3 was promoted to regular English classes after ESL level 2. The main key of me learning English fast was force my self to speak with people who didn't speak Urdu. Made American friends the only way to communicate was English with them. So that's how I caught up with speaking English fast. Now, MashuAllah I speak English fluently with no issues. 🙏

@Toseef khan also believe it or not but I think watching American movies with subtitles can also help. This way you can hear and read same time how to speak and pronounced surtten words...

Milk try whole milk in USA. Walmart got cheaper milk. Also traveling best by plane and it’s cheaper if you book in advance. Like month or two . Since I have been in USA for past 40 years. Travel by bus is difficult since I sm 60. You are young . I think try by train . Plane is cheaper and convenient if you book in advance. Good luck

learning english is non-negotiable to live in usa who is new here. your guests' point of view about people not making a fuss about not being able to speak English is different. English is a marker of social status in pakistan, that's not the case in usa. No one would make a value judgment on a person here if the person didn't know english. However, it is in their own (immigrant's) interest to learn the language of the new land and not ghettoize themselves by living in an isolated desi bubble.
