Cats often like the idea of getting out of the house, even if they could never survive. Our cat loves looking outside and trying to escape, even though he's so jumpy he'd never last a day. There's no way of knowing if Pooter could survive long on his own.

I rescued a little black kitten recently, and he definitely was a Thackeray Binx looking kitten.
He was homeless, malnourished, and likely sick, so I let him stay the night with me and fed him. I had to surrender him because of my circumstances, but I'm sure he went to a loving home. I still feel so guilty about giving him up so quickly, but I'm checking up on him regularly and plan on covering his vet bills. I got attached to him quickly, it's easy to get attached when they trust you so quickly. I kinda want him back so I can take care of him.

Can I just say this episode seriously freaked me out. Around two years ago I took in a feral cat that looks exactly like Pooter, tuxedo mark and everything. He spends most of his time outside strutting around the street like he owns the place and is a little neighborhood celebrity now. Weird thing is despite him being registered as feral, he clearly had previous owners. He's affectionate as hell and was litter trained when we brought him in. Maybe there's just an army of Pooters that have spread throughout the world for some unknown mission.
