    I really like your point about the water bottles! Since chins don’t even drink that much so it seems convenient to get a big bottle but that just leads to procrastination. Great video❤️

    Some people can't get wheels because where they live is hot and their chinchilla might become in a way addicted to running on their wheel. Great video, your videos help me a lot!

      Exactly - chinchillas are not good at realizing and adjusting their body temperatures. There has been cases where a chinchilla runs on the wheel nonstop then die from a heat stroke.

    This is late but i have a few questions: how many times do you change the fleece?? why is tile good for them? are these choices better then the wood shaving ones? (easier to clean)

    • @TheChinchillaNotebook
      @TheChinchillaNotebook  Před 5 lety +1

      Kendall Johnson I change the fleece every 5 to 7 days or when needed. The tile is just an option. I like it because it keeps him cool down there when he’s running on his wheel plus he doesn’t pee on it so it’s easier to keep clean. And it totally depends on your preferences. I used to use wood shavings and I don’t like them as much as fleece. Fleece is much neater and easier to clean 💕

    • @emslilzoo2906
      @emslilzoo2906 Před 5 lety +2

      Animals 101 They’re socially very different, require different setups and buns are really prone to respiratory infections due to dust so they’re not good mixes! Also most rabbits actually carry a bacteria called pasteurella that can kill a chinchilla if they’re exposed to each other :) that’s why mine are housed in different levels of the house and I have to wash my hands between contact. It’d be super cute if they could be together safely though.

    Can you litter box train them?

    • @ChinVillain
      @ChinVillain Před 4 lety +1

      You can't technically "train" them but you can make it appeasing to them. Some methods include: putting a litter box in a corner they pee in and blocking off all other corners. Plus an added bonus if you put a different bedding in the litter pan from what is in the cage and some people even have success will adding a decent size rock in the litter box. They say its kinda like sitting on toilet for a chinchilla. IDK its weird. Also, you can only train them to pee in a box since they do not have control over where they poop.
