- I last played this game as a teenager so now as a doctor will I be able to cure the patients of Theme Hospital?! Let's just say it was a mixed success.
I try and make educational and entertaining, this one was just a bit of fun really, but if you want to see me take on more of these challenges, let's do it!

I love how Dr. Hope's frustration with his own staff quarters at his real hospital manifests itself into the ultra pimped out one he makes in this game.

You should try two point hospital in that case :) not only its modern game inspired by theme hospital - some of the original authors worked on it too! :)
In fact the wanted to call it theme hospital 2 but they couldn't because of legal reasons

Wish you could add Theme Hospital music to that game. I just mute music there and put a Theme Hospital playlist in the background but... you know, not practical.

I would also like to see him try Plague Inc, it is a fun game, also maybe another one called "two point Hospital" and compare it with theme hospital (pretty much the same but few things differ)

There's a sequal to theme hospital, called two-point hospital.
Not a sequal, it's a different IP, but it does have some of the same people behind it.

The staff room is amazing... although you missed the heaters it would be coldish there to chill. And the most needed coffee station ;)
Awesome video and quite amusing. Really love how you react to certain moments like the "treatment" for a bloated head. Always manage to put a smile and brighten the day.
Has a total of 4 people on staff, wonders why no ones in the staff room when the hospital is full of patients.... 😅
Why would the staff be treating the patients when they have a pimping staff room though? The staff clearly don't have their priorities in order.

You should definitely check out Project Hospital! It's basically the 2018 version of Theme Hospital with a lot of added cool stuff~

Especially in this video (higher brightness used?), the eye reflections from that ring light make Ed look like a sinister android. 😱 Perhaps a diffuser would be in order? Loved the slo-mo replays of the alarming Bloaty Head treatment. And I can't believe in all my years of videogame fandom that I hadn't heard an English accent in a game until now.

OMG, never thought you gonna react with Theme Hospital game. This is one of my favorite game, never feel bored to play it. Countless times i have played this game since around 2001 i guess 😂 and still play it sometimes
Edit: you should lower the speed game on the first month (january) for build the hospital, so you can open the hospital on the second month (february)

In hindsight, maybe it stands for "oh bloody 'ell".
You do the exact thing I do in the first level of this game. That little side-wing is made for either a giant toilet, or a giant staff room, and I always go with a ginormous staff room.
This was so funny! The music when showing the pharmacist had me dying 😂

love all them post-edits. man, a bullfrog classic! I rememeber playing this thing all the way up until the game was no-longer compatible with windows.
In case you are interested. There is Two Point Hospital that is basicly a new version of Theme Hospital. Project Hospital on the other hand is a bit more realistic take on the same idea where you can choose to diagnose the patients yourself if you don't trust your doctors
Oh god the nostalgia! Even the sounds. I had the demo at first as well because my dad used to buy SO many computer magazines and I'd clutter his computer with games lol. Some dude stuck on role playing stuff being farmer, being crappy racers, and such.
Meanwhile, I enjoy bullfrog's theme hospital.

My philosophy professor at university was a biker (rode a motorcycle). He was at a biker bar, and they asked what he did for a living. A bit apprehensive, he admitted he was a philosophy prof. "Good, you can pay for the bike", replied another biker. Since then, I've thought of work I don't necessarily enjoy as "paying for the bike".
Hospital of Hope now open for business: 4 staff members, 5 couches in the break room... waiting room seating optional.
It seems like you could have a vending machine to sell water, and perhaps unsweetened ice tea or fruit juice. I've never seen a live automat, but fantasized about having one so people could buy food at a restaurant after hours, which could also work at a hospital...

Me and my sister played this as kids and we had cheats. We still remember how the game would say 'the administrator is CHEATing'. when ever we cheat in any game we quote that line from theme hospital.

For future reference...
The game "Hospital Tycoon" is also worth a look/try.
Pretty fitting gameplay if you take into account all those medical dramas you've been reacting to on your channel.
There are 3 difficulty stages in that game if memory serves.
"Easy ; Medium ; Hard"
In an incremental/progressive manner, the level system is based on unlocks.
You have to meet certain minimum requirements before you can advance to the next level or stage.
Personally I've never gotten past the Medium-stage.
The 2nd or 3rd to last level in that stage, if memory serves, before I can advance to the Hard-stage.
Some specific equipment breaks down in that level and you have to fix it in order to complete the level, and I never could earn enough cash to afford it.
I refuse to cheat...
It's like racing in a "Need of Speed"-game and constantly loosing the race(s) by a few hundreds of a second.
In order to win you have to hit every turn perfectly.
So in "Hospital Tycoon" you really have to plan out the layout, down to the finest detail.
If you happen to overextend yourself at any point, you're screwed.
And it frustrates me to no end that I can't for the life of me figure out where I fudge up.
I'm extremely stubborn so I tend not to want to give up.
But it's like what Arthur Mendelson told Patch...(NB!...: Paraphrasing!)
"If you concentrate on the problem you can't see the solution."
The problem is that if I stop playing the game for a protracted period of time, I would most definitely not remember what I did the last time and as such I'm doomed to repeat history.
I could ask a friend for a fresh pair of eyes, as it were, but that would just bug me even more 'cause he's got this (annoying) ability to see the solution on the first try.
When I have spent the last 5+ hours pulling my own hair out.

I LOVE this game!!! Still play it. I think maybe when the game said people were annoyed it was because there weren't any toilets??? Also, you have to employ a handyman to water the plants and fix any machines like the bloaty head one.
When you first mentioned you had special plans for that room off to the side I first thought that it might be a crematorium.

:D Always loved Theme Hospital. One of the creators was also partly responsible for the more recent game Two Point Hospital.
Fun stuff! You should try Two Point Hospital and Project Hospital for a more up to date version of Hospital management games. Two Point Hospital is like a modern day theme hospital, and Project Hospital is more "serious".

Yay, Doctor Hope, my favorite doctor of all time, followed closely by Doogie Howser. To be fair I think Doogie has more to do with Nostalgia and the fact that he was my crush as a child. Oh my gosh! Doctor Hope should totally do a "Real doctor reacts to Doogie Howser"! I am a genius!

Worked in a lab, now I'm working in IT field. It's so sad, but true, there's more money from taking care of computers than people :(

The psychiatry couch cliche got me. I've been to several mental health appointments recent;y (Psychologist, Community Mental Health Team and 2 Psychiatrists) my mum asked me the other day "When you go do they have like one of them couch bed things where you lie and tell them everything"
Me: No you just sit in a chair... and they stare at you while you're waiting for them to ask you a question.

I loved this game as I was growing up. Even shared the cd with friends until they ended up breaking the cd and we stopped being friends. Shooting the mice were really hard, though.

Don't worry about building a pyschiatrist when trying to build a pharmacist. There are a few gaming CZcamsrs (cough, manyatruenerd, cough) who would have built the psych and not realized for minutes.
This looks like one of those games you just keep playing despite it's graphics. Loved the edits with the air horn and Dre lol. I probably wouldn't have put a raver in the pharmacy though.
When it came out the graphics were actually quite good.
