  • It's been too long so since our buddy Bobby Ryan is doing better we couldn't wait to have him on to talk about life and hockey! We run down some of the latest stories from Sens' training camp with Bob before fitness trainer extraordinaire Tony Greco gives us the lowdown on Claude Giroux's summer training. Plus Craig shows up to chat about last night's game in Winnipeg and the fan reaction to last week's Mt. CRUSH-Mores! It's a good one!

    I love Bobby Ryan. Love. Sending my positive vibes here, to encourage his recovery. My heart grew three sizes on hearing of Meth's reaching out. As much as podcasts are simply a distraction, I love that sometimes these little indulgences can reinforce what is truly important.
    Beyond that, the Tony Greco segment was also great. Always appreciate good work out chat.

    Bobby was always an amazing interview. So open, polite, and well spoken. He’s the only athlete I’ve ever seen apologize to a journalist in a locker room media scrum because he bumped into his arm. Lol He’s surrounded by a dozen arms shoving microphones and telephones in his face, and he apologizes to THEM.

    a few years before Chara hit Paccioretty into the dasher, Spezza got smashed and did a 360 spin in the air. I think it was against buffalo. That was always the craziest Sens related hit to me.

    I love you, Bobby Ryan. I still wear my #6 Sens jersey. Had been a huge fan since he was a rookie in Anaheim. I almost cried when he came to Ottawa, as he was one of my favourite players in the league at the time. Him scoring with Mikko Koivu’s (wrong side) stick is still one of my favourite hockey moments of all time. Check that out on CZcams if you guys haven’t seen it. Edit: Haha. 12:20 they mention it.
    Stay strong, brother. I come from a family of alcoholics. It’s not easy. People relapse. Don’t be ashamed. Just keep trying. I have one family member in particular who’s story is far too gruesome to write out here. But he’s sober about 9-10 years now. And believe me - if HE can do it, anyone can do it.

  • @sparkkplugg8787
    @sparkkplugg8787 Před rokem

    A relapse is not a failure. It's another opportunity to grow. The fact that we call it a relapse and acknowledge that it was just a slip, is how we know his strategy for recovery works.

    Met you are so right. Brannstrom cannot play in the NHL. Last year with Mete, I had the impression that there were more dwarves in the Sens defensive corps than in Lords of the Ring…
    Put him in a package. It was a mistake. Period.

    This is still a development year technically. With that said I think most of us rather see Sanderson and JBD make mistakes back there and grow/develop... as opposed to playing Zaitsev and Brannstrom making the same damn mistakes.

    Boston, Florida and Toronto all took steps back and Ottawa took steps forward plus the east is a lot better so there will be stiffer competition all around which changes the dynamics considerably. If they’re not a playoff team it’ll be a huge disappointment for the team and city. They certainly have all the talent and pieces to be successful, coaching will be huge. They need a defensive Identity or at the very least structure. Collapsing on the goalie and letting the other team pass the puck around half the game is not a recipe for success. Like to see more man on man coverage in the defensive end and I think they’d be a lot more successful. The forwards need to be more responsible defensively as well, it’s a team game is not all on defence
