I actually live at the foot of this mountain it’s a nice place
A good hike with awesome views but not strenuous. I did it with friends a couple of months ago. After your hike you can drive back to Ellijay for lunch or dinner.Definitely a great day trip.

It’s not a state park, but check out grassy mountain in chatsworth also. It’s about 45 minute drive up a gravel road.
I didn't know there is a Fort Mountain in Georgia. There is a Fort Mountain in Maine, 3861 ft. Located in Baxter State Park. There is no trail to the summit. You must bushwhack 0.9 miles from the summit of North Brother to reach the summit of Fort Mtn. it is the site of a cargo plane crash; some remnants of the crash still remain.

GSPs are amazing adventure dogs!!! He helps us shed some time off of our miles 😂
Please watch signs and don't get lost on the hiking trails, long hikes or short you want boots because of snakes anything can happen! You get lost you may or maynot see me or one of my friends!!
Do you have to walk back the way your stated or does the trail continue and takes you to the start??
