Professor Zach Murphy will be lecturing on Pleural Diseases. We will be going into detail on the following main objectives:
    1. Introduction to Pleural Diseases
    - Acquire a foundational understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the pleura.
    - Discuss the role of the pleura in respiratory function and how it can be affected by various disease processes.
    2. Pathophysiology of Pleural Diseases
    - Dive into the mechanisms underlying common pleural diseases, including how fluid, air, or blood accumulates in the pleural space.
    - Learn about transudative vs. exudative pleural effusions and their etiologies.
    3. Clinical Manifestations
    - Recognize the signs and symptoms commonly associated with pleural diseases like pleural effusion and pneumothorax.
    - Understand the physical examination findings that can point to pleural pathology.
    4. Diagnostic Criteria and Tools
    - Familiarize yourself with the current diagnostic criteria based on the latest clinical guidelines.
    - Understand the utility and interpretation of imaging studies, including chest X-ray and ultrasound, as well as pleural fluid analysis.
    5. Management Strategies for Pleural Effusion
    - Discuss the evidence-based management of pleural effusion, including the roles of thoracentesis, pleurodesis, and pleural catheters.
    - Understand when to escalate care, for example, when effusion is malignant or recurrent.
    6. Management Strategies for Pneumothorax
    - Gain insights into the current best practices for managing pneumothorax, ranging from observation and oxygen therapy to needle decompression and surgical intervention.

Amazing video! As someone who works in radiation oncology i see a lot of patients with pleural effusion and sometimes cardiac effusion ,and if it is worst scenario, sometimes both effusions as result of pulmonary malignancy... Great video for me and for my students to explain them differences in short notes....
