- I would like to show you how my pocket watch etcetera tag came to life.
I created this project for the vault 2 release by Sizzix and Tim Holtz. In this video, I'll walk you through the main steps of my process and explain how I brought this little gem to life.
This tag has the quote "just one life" on it and that's also the idea behind this creation. When I saw the pocket watch and the other elements from the die cut set, I immediately knew what I wanted to do with them. I wanted to create a broken watch with time running out, to represent that we all have just one life and one chance to make the most of it - to love wholeheartedly, to cherish the people we meet, to collect memories, and to make each day extraordinary.

This piece turned out fantastically. Tim was blown away when he was presenting it on the live. To see that you used the continent drifting away from the watch was so symbolic of time getting away from us. Just AWESOME. Your imagination seems to be unending. Thanks for sharing. WOW! What a great video. So many techniques, and products. Great for understanding the interpretations of the dies and products used. Great video of using products. The interactions with the products and how to achieve the results that you get. To be able to see each techniques in real time, was wonderful. I really enjoyed this.

I loved watching you make this tag. Thank you for sharing. The joy of crafting is fullfilling. No you cannot have enough crypt paste. I love your story about the time (5 minutes until 3), you put on the watch. And the butterfly is perfect. Joy is a choice. This is a fabulous piece of art.
Hello Luise, you are so creatively talented, plus your sense of humor makes every video a treat! I also really appreciate how detailed you are in explaining your process and your knowledge of how each medium reacts to achieve a certain look. May I make a suggestion regarding the glued layers of gears? Perhaps after gluing the layers together, immediately lift the gear off the original surface and place it on a dry surface. This would leave the glue "webbing" from the gear spaces on the original area of the mat and might avoid having to poke the glue webbing out of the gear spaces after the fact. I have visions of you doing a full wall/art installation of grungy junk journal elements on a local building (similar to the artist "Banksy") so people can enjoy your talent!!
