I am so excited to share today's room makeover with you! I flew to Portland to visit my friend Calvin who just moved into a new house and I wanted to help makeover his room! His style is very much like mine so I thought this room on a budget would be a fun challenge!

It is. They should definitely try to get the curtains for that area and get rid of the Xmas lights. I'll also get rid of the diy taped "headboard". I'll would have hung up the rainbow on that side, actually.
Perfect. You can stil hang the curtains but drape and tie so the fall to one side and white wash pallet. Excellent vid thanks for posting

omg drew, I've been watching all your new videos (or at least within the past year), and then this one came up. I just want to say congratulations on how much you've progressed over the past 3 years! this is an adorable room and the difference in how you decorated then vs. now is huge, your style is so cohesive and complete now. I would love to see a series where you react to your old makeovers and then "update" them with photoshop etc.

I so appreciate that you acknowledge that $300 is a bigger budget for a room makeover. Would love to see a $100 makeover/room refresh!
This is super cute but all I'd say to anyone wanting to recreate the pallet idea is PLEASE ask if you can take the pallet first! Some people rent pallets out and can get fined if they aren't returned. I don't think this was one of those times, but you never know, so always ask first!
Also some of them are treated with products and chemicals and that would not be good to have in your bedroom even if you wash it.
If you plan to use pallets as part of your dyis you have to make sure the wood is not treated.

Oh my goodness! I absolutely love the cityscape as a headboard. The rug under the bed was so cute.
The headboard and the rainbow are the only things I dislike. But that little plant corner is adorable
i’m not the biggest fan of the DIY headboard because of some of the lines being uneven it just looked sloppy. but overall the room looked absolutely amazing and I loved how you had the bookshelf.
Sage Warren in the video it looks good but like in the intro it’s super messed up. that tape doesn’t stick at all. i tried it

The pallet MADE this make-over!!! It added so much interest and brought the whole earthy vibe into the monochrome super well!

Should have used the palette for a headboard. Spay painted it and then create the cityscape above the palette.
Idk why but I think you will enjoy playing game called Design Home. It's a game where we design a room (bedroom, living room etc.) based on the criteria they wanted (contemporary, coastal etc.) using furnitures that actually exist in real word! It's a fun game!

I would never thought of using a rug that way - genius! Cut the panel in half, hem by hand and use on both sides of the window OR use on the left-hand side ONLY and tie back....Use a shorter rod on just one curtain panel side...Nice bedside table for $10.00-score!

This video looked so rustic, and grounded which I love! I don't know why but I'd settle for this, than any sleek and clean look, to be honest! Down and dirty is way better looking for a city you're living in.

Yes! That was kind of the initial plan but it was so heavy and a bit too short to fit the full sized bed.

Headboard looked really good; I would have painted it and exchanged the curtains for two in the right size because I would have personally preferred them to the Christmas lights. Having said that, beautiful room!

i would suggest getting a shelf where the rainbow light is. and move some of the plants from the corner onto the shelf. the corner feels a little heavy.
