    Deutsch:
    English:
Close by to Verona lies the Sigurtà Garden Park, a 600,000-square-metre natural oasis surrounded by moraine hills and awarded in 2023 with the Garden Tourism Award by the Garden Tourism Network as one of the most visit-worthy gardens in the world. An award that comes after the title of Most Beautiful Park in Italy in 2013 and Second Most Beautiful Park in Europe in 2015.
The park has two souls: an 'Italian-style' design, characterised by geometric patterns that circumscribe the space, and an 'English-style' layout, which is based on a combination of natural and artificial elements such as caves, ancient trees, small temples, and ruins, where an ordered nature is perceived even when it takes on a more spontaneous character.
Open daily, including holidays, from 8th March to 10th November 2024, the park is a treasure trove for:
    - seasonal blooms such as Tulipanomania, the event which was awarded the title of Best Tulip Festival in the World in 2022 thanks to its million tulips in bloom and numerous side events; thousands of roses blooming from May to September on the kilometre-long Boulevard of Roses; fabulous peonies and hydrangeas; hundreds of multicoloured summer water lilies; wonderful ponds; numerous varieties of dahlias, which enrich the Boulevard of Flowerbeds; and annual plants such as impatiens or busy lizzies that decorate the lawns. For all flowerings: www.sigurta.it/le-fioritureio...
    - centuries-old trees such as oaks: not to be missed is the over four centuries old Great Oak, fossil trees such as ginkgo bilobas and metasequoias, and spectacular trees such as Japanese maples, which in autumn turn ochre, yellow, red, and orange. Then there is also an exotic touch with palm trees and banana trees, specimens of white and black hornbeams, linden and empress trees, crape myrtles, the spectacular Cornelian cherry dogwood, which turns pink in spring, and the 40,000 specimens of evergreen boxwoods.
    - animals that live in the farm, which is always open and located in the agricultural area of the park: such as the Paduan hens (Slow Food Presidium), the bronze turkey, Lessinia sheep, and San Domenico donkeys. While walking along the meadows and paths of the park, you can also encounter green woodpeckers and squirrels. In the ponds, on the other hand, you can find Japanese carp or koi, carassi, and turtles.
    - a magnificent Maze: one of the world's most spectacular examples of plant architecture, designed by Giuseppe Inga Sigurtà. A tower towers over the 2500 square metres of a pathway embellished with 1500 yew plants.
    - points of historical interest: from the Emperors' Hill, which commemorates the 1859 meeting of Emperors Joseph I of Austria and Napoleon III of France, to late 18th century buildings such as the Hermitage and the Castelletto, to the Monument dedicated to the Park's founder, Carlo Sigurtà.
    - spots to photograph: the Great Lawn, which contains at its centre two small flowering lakes with a Zen atmosphere; the Panoramic Walk overlooking the Mincio Valley, an emissary of Lake Garda; and the Boulevard of Roses, the symbolic image of the park, which due to an optical illusion seems to lead to the medieval Scaliger Castle of Valeggio, in reality located outside the garden.

Vielen Dank für den Kommentar... Gerade bei der üblichen Wetterlage in der Metropolregion tun ein paar Sonnenstrahlen gut.
