Yes! I've been looking into transforming furniture like Murphy beds over sofas and tables, plus beds like the ones by Ori that lift up into the ceiling. I have a guest bedroom that I'd like to be more useful, both as a suite for visitors and to enjoy the space myself.
11x14' isn't that small though! My guest bedroom is 8.5x11' and I had to squeeze a queen size bed in there (breaking basically every design rule in the process) because we have guests over 6' tall who would find it too uncomfortable to share a double bed with a partner.
I agree. I wish my guest rooms were as big as hers. Mine are 10x12. I wish they were bigger. Our master is 16x20…..big. So a foot in each of the guest rooms would have been nice.
Yes, I would also love to see a video decorating a small bedroom that is also used for other things, like a den/tv room, that’s also used for guests.
I bought a light for the foyer but ended up using a different light. So I decided to put it in a small room. I thought it was too big but now knowing that it helps is awesome.

My LIVING ROOM is also 12x13 and a closed space like this except one side opens directly into a DR space 9x11. So challenging! Great video & I love the room, and I'd love to see more small room makeovers and inspiration!

What people need to keep in mind when watching this video is that she’s trying to give general advice, but using her space as an example. I know many of us have smaller spaces, but that’s why you need to take her tips then modify or cater it to your living space. I still found this video very helpful ❤️

I get so many ideas from this page because like you I have lived overseas and had a huge home and the scale of items are large then in usa my home is smaller and need ideas to downsize buying furnishings now ! It’s hard to go back to small when you always had large rooms

Thanks for the double-mirror tip! I have a slim rectangular room with one short wall entirely occupied by a glass door + super high ceiling. Veery difficult to furnish, I would love to get some tips for this kind or room as well.
I love that you shared your thought process on this. It’s teaching me the important steps to take before I even begin to decide what to place in the room. This is a fabulous teaching moment! I also love that you used the Carmel color in the windows and throw pillows against the gray/blue. Most of us would attempt to keep with the gray tones. This makes so much more of a layered look just using the juxtaposition of colors! I have been addicted to watching you and Jack for years. I love your enthusiasm for what you do and that you have such a playful relationship. Thank you for not just sharing the beautiful rooms you created but the important steps we need to take before we even begin.

Fantastic inspiration thank you, my son is currently at university but finishing next year so I want to re do his bedroom and make it lovely for him, his room is big so I don’t have the small room challenge but I have the challenge of removing all my dumped clutter lol 😂 I’m not too sure about mirrors which reflect the bed, I would be more inclined to put them either side above the bedside tables but I take difficult when dealing with small spaces for sure

Hey I love your channel. I'm redecorating my bedroom and I love my canopy bed it's real wood an antique piece queen size. I'm thinking about blocking off my window with some cream velvet drapes. I hate the cheap carpet in here I live in a senior apt. So I purchased a room size light rug. Just looking for some ideas when living in a rental. YES I'M A SENIOR WHO LOVES DECOR AND FASHION LOL😂😊❤😂

Valentina I need your help, for months now I’ve been trying to figure out what I can use to cover up my electric box in my bedroom. It’s directly behind my door so I can’t really put anything in front of it. I think I need to hang something but it’s at a weird position on the wall, it’s centered opposed to being at eye level. What can I do?

The bedroom does look grand for its dimensions. Do you have any advice for a space that's even smaller, but with a window that's off centre, but the head of the bed has to be placed right in front of it, as it's the only way it can fit a queen bed.
There are certain days I want to do the tucked bed look. Does the duvet need to be oversized? My flat sheet and duvet don’t reach down far enough to tuck behind the upholstered bed rail.

I like a twin bed for my bedroom, so I can have room for the other furniture like a chair and vanity. Do you recommend two ottomans at the foot of the bed? I was thinking that a storage bench would give some style as well.
Hi Valentina! With regards to curtains, especially in a small room, I thought they're supposed to be the same color of the wall it's on to help make the room appear larger. Also, I'd like to request to see how you would design an oblong bedroom and living room. Thank you!
I think she used those curtains to balance the overall decor of the room and add a little bit of drama to the space. It adds visual contrast too.
@@nancytimothy841 I suppose that's another way of looking at it. It'd be interesting to see though, what the room would have looked like with curtains that blended in with the wall, combined with what else she there.
Great questions. When it comes to design I follow my gut first and rely on "supposed to's" if they fit. In this case I wanted to do these curtains to help tie together some of the other colors in the space.

according to feng shui it is a big no no to have a mirror facing any part of the bed. otherwise great video and great background :)
