Going On The Bike Paths In Wisconsin Is very very very Cool 😎, My Brothers And Sisters.
Different strokes for different folks, but I prefer 20” wheels on these fat tire bikes. I ride on sidewalks if I have to, and being nimble to make turns is preferable for me. I’ve had the Engwe up to 35-40 mph down hills, it’s acceptably stable, even at those speeds. It’s interesting that Mrs. Right as a conservative rider and person of smaller stature prefers bigger wheels.
I like the 26 inch wheels with 4" fat tires.
Bedding my new brakes stopped the noises on my brand new bandit pacer, thanks for the info!
Hey Russ. If your rotor isn't warped or damaged try centering the caliper. Simply loosen the caliper bolts and mash down and hold the brake and retighten the bolts. Now you know the pads will contact the rotor evenly. Takes just a few minutes and it might help. RIDE ON!
Done that, but it isn’t due to that.
As always I enjoy your videos and learn something new about the bikes. These are the bikes I want to get for the husband and myself. He still works and thinks I will hurt myself if I get a bike because my knee surgery didn’t give me good results. But this is why I want the bike.
You've made some good points on why an ebike riding couple should consider these folding bikes. Right on Russ
I put folding pedals on my non folding bike as well. I find I can store my bikes closer together in the garage, and it makes it easier to have more than 1 bike on the biek rack.
Good idea.
“Where are we? What road are we on?” Ha, Russ, you are funny.
I never know where I am at!
Would you sometime try your hill speed test on the same bike but with a fully charged battery and a partially charged one? You have several bikes with 2 or more batteries so would be able to do this comparison when all of the other variables remain the same ( weather, road conditions etc.)My home is on a steep road and I am sure that I feel a notable difference in performance but cannot verify it scientifically as only have the one battery and no throttle as in Europe. My feeling is that the peak wattage of the motor can be reduced considerably depending on the charge.
Russ on the brake pads, some times they will use semi-Metallic brake pads and they can be squeaky, and there's not a whole lot you can do. Semi metallic work better in the rain apparently. Resin brake pads are more quiet. and feel more sticky. I like resin myself. But Resin tend to wear out quicker than semi metallic. There is nothing quite like that feel of a new resin brake pad Lol 😍 Of course any of them can get dirty or oily and sttart squealing. Some alcohol on the brake rotor might help> if its REALLY bad try sand papering the brake pad, but thats alot of work taking the wheel off and stuff. I usually just keep slamming on the brakes till it sorts itself out
Hi Russ, would you be able to point me in the right direction on those fold-up bike pedals you were talking about please? I want to get a pair for my cousins ebike because she doesn't have a bike carrier.
Here you go! amzn.to/3RgC0Jv
I didn't mean to give myself a thumbs-up, thank you for the fast reply Russ, I ordered those as soon as I had the link up. You do NOT want to be down here right now my friend, my car's thermometer read 101 at 6:00...!

Hello again Russ. With regards to the mild brake sound in your front wheel. I realize it's of no consequence but have you considered flipping your bike upside down, then loosen the two bolts that hold the caliber and pads, Loosen slightly and realign the pads with the rotor. Re-tighten the bolts and spin the wheel. Might take a couple of tries but likely fix the rub you're hearing. As I write this I'm thinking you already have knowledge about this. Love your videos!
Thanks. Already did that.
Have you tried the Lectric folding? I’ll have to search….. or do you have thoughts on it. I’m interested in the assist but not necessarily the full-assist (meaning: I’m also looking for workout & cycling comfort with the pedaling, etc)
I have not been given a Lectric product.
Do you find the front basket compromises the "foldability?I ask as Mrs Rendle would like one for her bike , but I'm concerned that we won't be able to get it into the car.
It does get in the way somewhat but we are able to do it.
In church, we sing 'Bedding in the Brakes, Bedding in the Brakes every Sunday.
😳🤣
Somehow I picture the Andy Griffith show when I read this.
