Chris scammers in the comments trying to get money
It's actually a spyglass. Regardless, that was a great puzzle!
Okay. So, this is probably my favorite puzzle so far. Even beats the $50k, multi-puzzle, connected "future Chris" ones. This was so well done. The craftsmanship, the story. The discovery. It really was amazing!
Agreed! Have seen all his puzzles... This one has a perfect combination of riddles and unusual pieces that with together to find the solve so that it doesn't seem finished until you actually get there
im with you on this one, the design perfectly complementing the discovery is amazing, wish i could wipe my memory of this video and have it in my hands 🤣
❤
just said pretty much the same thing, definitely one of my favorite puzzles he has ever done, props to the builder!
The story unfolding as you solve was great
Honestly, needing to reassemble the map, and then use the spyglass to reveal which squares on it are the clues to the combination lock, is just such a really cool mechanic to the puzzle.
I think I would have preferred a jig saw assembly of the map, rather than a slider. Slider puzzles are not fun.
Much like a rubics cube, there is a formula to solving slider puzzles. Once you understand it they are quite simple to solve, I used to take a slider puzzle to school back in the day and challenge people that no matter how they mixed it up I could solve it in under a minute. It was a basic 9x9 but the actual size is irrelevant. It just takes longer due to physical size.
@@Gigaheart I'm not much of a fan of them myself, but in this case I think that the way it was used makes it far more interesting than it would otherwise have been.
@@KefkeWren Could have done the same with grid lined jig saw pieces, IMO. It didn't have to be a slider. I wonder how long it took Chris to solve that slider.
@@Gigaheart TBH I was unsure about the slide puzzle myself. I thought about a jig saw puzzle or something similar, but I went with this method to prevent having too many loose items.
I’m with everyone else: the best puzzle I’ve seen lately. It’s awesome. Top notch.
I hope somehow he got the rights to that puzzle before sending it. Some high end company that has the ability to mass produce that can swoop in and steal the whole sequence and design. What a awesome puzzle.
@UCuPxBEY1odhNay1EuQwQqhw can i have prize.😜
Copyright would cover the presentation and potentially sequencing/narrative of the box. None of the individual elements within it are likely protectable, unless he’s invented entirely new mechanisms (in which case they may or may not merit individual patent consideration, if they’re sufficiently non-obvious).
This talent should be snapped up 😊
Dude, this puzzle maker is astounding! I love the type of puzzles they chose. The Sliding Puzzle mixed with the periscope was so clever. Thanks for showing us!
Amazing puzzle - I've watched many of these solves on this channel, and the fact this is truly, fully mechanical and not a "circuit board in a wooden box" is just amazing. So many people just shortcut with sensors and solenoids but to see real mechanical puzzles is just awesome. Love the "safe" dial mechanic.
I think this is one of the best puzzles you have done. Such quality and clever. Mayb use instead for the wooden sliding puzzle blocks an imitation ivory material so it looks like whale bone and will slide better, apart from that I thought it was excellent. 5*
I’ve been a carpenter for 25 years and the craftsmanship of these puzzles blow my mind.I’m new to this channel and been watching so many of these. I can’t wait to get my first puzzle box. This is a great channel !✌️
This puzzle was spectacular, so well crafted, incorporated such a variety of puzzles into one. My hats off to Garrett, deffinitly do not underestimate the talent you have at puzzle making. In my honest opinion I believe this is worth more than some of the super expensive puzzles that Chris has purchased.
I agree. If this is a first work, then it's one heck of a calling card. He can easily ask $50k for one-of commissioned boxes like that. Of course, he'd have to come up with a new story, perhaps variations on the mechanisms and sequence, looks etc. That's exactly why those unique puzzles cost so much: it takes the better part of a year to make it from thought to product. If "Garrett" reads this: strike the iron when it's hot. You got plugged here, which means that most of the potential initial clients probably will see it in the next couple of weeks. Once you've done a handful of boxes, people will come knocking for more. Time to quit the day job and make that passion into your main thing!
Thanks! This did take a little over a year to create from concept to full build. However, I worked slow and took a few months off not working on it at all. The goal was to create a more escape room style box vs puzzle box. After seeing all the overwhelmingly positive reviews, I have already begun concepts for a new story / build. Hopefully I can create something that is equally enjoyed. I do want to give a lot of credit to Chris for showcasing it. His production value is amazing.
@@soofbuilds6767 well, now you know how to showcase your next one on your own channel =) Maybe make a build series too, without spoilers for the solution.
@@soofbuilds6767 Subscribed to your channel, in hopes of seeing future content. Amazing skills you have!
@@soofbuilds6767 it would be really cool if you documented your builds on your channel. Though that might give away some of the secrets to the puzzle... Would be fun to watch though.
I see pirate, instant LIKE 👍
Absolutely bizarre seeing a childhood icon under a puzzle box video, nice to see ya
@@distractedrogue6472 right lmao
@@distractedrogue6472 haha I still make content and pop in here from time to time. Love Chris’ vids!
Whenever I see these kinds of puzzle boxes, what leaves me in awe is how the internal mechanics is designed and, moreover, put together such that nothing interferes with anything else and it all just works. A heck of a lot of craftsmanship must’ve gone into building such a contraption.
Wow. Another fantastic puzzle, and another amazing video. Outstanding craftsmanship went into both! Perfect way to kick off the morning. Cheers!
I'm so surprised that the level of skill. The maker of this puzzle box is great. Thank you so much for letting us watch you.
Solve the problem. I look forward to seeing you finished another one.
Great content. So amazing.
I loved how you got the clues for the wheel puzzle in reverse order. It truly feels like you are following a trail in reverse, which might be rare in a puzzle.
As a joiner/ cabinet maker I really enjoyed this one, and would happily have it on my shelf 👌🏼 Good work to the maker.
This was super fun to watch too! Chris, have you ever thought about doing a puzzle solve on a live stream so we can help you with clues?? Would be super fun to watch you solve live and be involved somehow!
Pretty sure he has done this with a couple of puzzles in the past!
@@JoshWatkins17 and he should do more bc I definitely missed those
I LOVE this puzzle and am in awe of the creator - all made by hand?! Hats off to you sir! And great solve video as always Chris
” pull out turn push back in” quote of the year😂
I've watched a ton of Chris' videos and this puzzle is by far my favorite! The craftsmanship and the thought that went into creating it, I love it all! I've never wanted a puzzle of my own so bad until this video. Even just for decoration for a conversation piece, it suits the build. Garrett, bravo sir! Keep them coming! You have a real knack for puzzle making and Chris, keep doing what you do! Long time subscriber, first time commenting. I thoroughly enjoy all your content ❤️
Excellent. Love these vids and Ive total respect to the puzzle makers. I bought my 1st puzzle box on my 1st trip to India in late 70s and have collected them ever since. My wedding ring is a intricate Turkish puzzle ring my wife had made of 8 bands. I dont remove it often haha
Omg whoever made this is way to humble .. this is like a top three puzzles you have done .. the wood working is incredible. I like the angry face one to actually buy if it was possible.
This puzzle designer deserves a lot of kudos. This is an amazing puzzle. Well done Garrett Coufal.
One of the best puzzles I’ve seen in ages. The story really makes it.
Dude Garrett understands puzzle boxes. This is great.
Man I can remember years ago when you and Spidey were mostly doing the magic tutorials an I love them all. Then once you started to focus on some bad ass puzzles it completely changed the game
Now Spidey does wonderful body language reviews
This guy downplayed his puzzle and was like sorry if it doesn’t work right and yet it was an amazingly, well thought out, super fun puzzle! Major props!
Im blown away by the skill of craftmanship here. Its like a ancient gift for a mighty king
I love the flavor of the "navigate the ship and drop the anchor" part.
Damn - that was a super smart puzzle -- amazingly well crafted and super thoughtful. Mindblowing to think this was his first one!
Dear GOD - the craftsmanship!!!!😩😩I wish I was this talented!!! By far my favorite!!!!! Bravo Garrett, bravo 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Out of all the puzzles you've done; I think I like this one the best. Is very enjoyable entertaining puzzle to watch. Hats off to that guy that made that.
Can’t explain the joy I experience to watch not only Chris solving these puzzles but the exquisite beauty of their construction ❤️
The way you have to steer two full turns right, then one left etc leads me to believe a safe combination lock mechanism is used within. Cool puzzle, thanks for sharing 👍
Love the wood puzzles. Great craftsmanship.
wow I think this is one of my favorite puzzles youve ever done. So much detail, so many different little mini puzzles, such craftsmanship, its impressive on every level. Some really ingenious solutions as well, props to the dude who made it!
It's nice to see humility in a puzzle designer but they have NO reason to be, this was exceptional for an individually hand-made.
Whomever made that is so very talented. It's beautiful and a treasure all in itself.
My thoughts exactly! It's a treasure within itself!!!!
As soon as the letter said the puzzle was inspired by your channel, I knew it was going to have a spin move. So clever...
I truly love how much passion you have for things like this. No everyone can say they found a job that they truly love. Definitely inspiring 🙏🏽💛
Uhh... no inspiration from the guy who ACTUALLY MADE THE PUZZLE?? Why do people leave these vapid, unoriginal comments that say nothing.
@@mercster who hurt you bro? Just know whatever you going thru it’s temporary, quit acting like a stuck up brat
@@mercster you know you can be inspired by more than one thing, right? Inspiration is not a finite resource. Your comment is vapid and says nothing but bad vibes
Khalilah, your comment was very nice and even got a like from Chris. I hope the previous douchebag comment didn't bring you down ❤️
Your intros and B- reel are the best in the game.
Period.
This is exceptional. Beautifully hand-crafted, cleverly thought out and meticulous! Wow.
Chris, with the numbers on the spokes of the crab, shark, turtle, octopus, and the message. I think taking a picture of them and putting that on-screen when they appear would help because it was hard to see the numbers on the spokes and the message behind that door from the camera angle
He makes the best intros. Really one of a kind this channel.
This year I’m going to be designing you a puzzle.. never designed or built anything before but I’ve gotten many, many ideas watching you solve puzzles
This Garrett sure has set the entry standards pretty high though. It'll be hard to top.
@@lukearts2954 not looking to top, looking to make a good challenging but fun puzzle
I cannot grasp the mind that one needs to craft something like this? Wow! I bet the builder had more fun than we did watching you solve his puzzle!
I watched the entire video smiling at every part of the box, absolutely beautiful
This was a really well-made puzzle. The gentleman who made this is quite the craftsman. It was really interesting to watch Chris figure this out each step of the way.
The fact that this was his first Puzzle is crazy.. holy keep making stuff!
This was definitely my favorite puzzle you've done classy well made and planned. Pats on back to the maker well done sir 10/10!
Although the spyglass mechanic was a VERY close second, my favorite thing about this puzzle with the order in which clues and tools are given to you so you can have those back to back "a-ha!" moments when things begin to click together. Like once you figure one thing out, other things just begin to make sense.
A PERISCOPE is an apparatus consisting of a tube attached to a set of mirrors or prisms, by which an observer (typically in a submerged submarine or behind a high obstacle) can see things that are otherwise out of sight.
I think what you have is a spyglass, or more commonly referred to as a telescope (also nicknamed the "bring-em-closer"). It is an object used by mariners, or pirates, to magnify the view.
Love these type of puzzles.
They are a true work of art.
Garrett - seriously awesome man. I cannot believe this. Truly incredible
This Gareth guy needs to be designing more of these!
How the mechanics and the aesthetics matched the narrative, the variety of puzzle types involved and satisfying reveals and price at the end makes it one of the best ever I've seen. Amazing to see a new puzzle maker hit the nail on the head with the first attempt! Garrett Coufal is the treasure that Chris uncovered here!
Wow! That was truly awesome. Garrett, You were too modest. This was a really cool puzzle and I agree with Chris. I WANT ONE!🤩
I’ve been watching your puzzle solving videos for about 2 years now. This puzzle has been my favorite so far.
that was a great puzzle, I love the ingenuity of using a combo lock as the innards.
I loved the opening for this puzzle box! It looks absolutely brilliant and gives me The Room vibes. I find sliding block puzzles in video games a personal hell, though. I'd cry to have a real life one in front of me.
Who in the weird world makes these opening scenes , super original and sometimes, like this 1 trick me into thinking I'm watching a totally different video
Absolutely beautiful craftsmanship. Brilliant detail and story. Let's hope we hear more from this one.
I think I actually like this one as much as the Architect. If I ever start making the big bucks with this channel you better BELIEVE I'm gonna own a bunch of puzzles like these.
This puzzle is so insanely awesome! So well made and thought out!
His intros are better than actual tv shows!
I KNEW that part was a combination lock. Glad you found it.
Compliments for the creator! This being a one-of-a-kind, and handcrafted? Wow!
This puzzle was so fun to follow along with! Super well made! 10/10 would purchase.
The way Chris is holding the hand of Midus at the end was great. Should have waved goodbye with it.
Chris is man of focus, commitment, sheer f*cking will... something you know very little about.
bro the intro tho!! , killing it with that daylight horror/ analogue horror tone!
Great puzzle! I’ve recently started watching the channel and this was the most fun to watch of the 6 or 7 videos I’ve seen. Even more amazing it was all built by hand.
One is my favorites! Fantastic devices. The combo lock is brilliant
YesSiRr!! Definately one of Me Favourite SO FAR on your Channel. Very interesting and well thought out. I like it. I'm a Fan. Thankz for sharing Mate... alwayz enjoy the puzzles. Take it easy and Stay Safe out there Champ.
Definitely my favorite puzzle you’ve done for sure!! Props to Garret it was so well made!
A really great puzzle! Very well designed and a great one to watch. Well done for solving it Chris. An enjoyable watch
Hats off to Garrett! What an awesome puzzle!
This was by Faaar one my favorite puzzle solves, and I’ve watched it multiple times, and I love it every time! I was having a blast just watching Chris solve this puzzle! This Garrett guy is a genius, and very talented!
Wow! That looked like one of the best prizes you have ever done
definitely one of my favorite puzzles I've seen you solve. Beautifully crafted!
Having created several wooden puzzle boxes as gifts for friends and ARGs, I have to say this guy is awesome!
This deserves a signed deck, not just a signed card! This was well done!
Great puzzle - this is one of my favorites. So many cool mechanics and everything seemed to work well. Fantastic craftsmanship.
Unreal make! The craft and thought that went into making this puzzle..... just wow!
This is a very intriguing puzzle. It happens so much on it.
Amazing puzzle adventure. These adventure puzzles are definitely my favorite and this is one of the best you've showcased.
Hot dang! I believe Chris deserves to be a Pirate, a pirate of magic in the sea of wonders, where the unreal becomes real because this puzzle is beyond reality
Such an awesome puzzle! Glad you were able to showcase it.
By far the absolute best puzzle I've seen so far!
Wow. Massive respect to you and the person who made this puzzle. It's truly amazing! Great job Chris!
Seems perfect for the Depp trial going on currently
Fantastic puzzle. From start to finish, it was clear what you were meant to do. Fantastic!
Chris would u mind making a video about your puzzel collection. It would be very interesting to see those old puzzels of a few years ago that would bring back memories of ancient times😃
Amazing Puzzle, really well done and so many turns. Nice work
quite amazing that puzzle box!
and the craft omg!
Best puzzle yet!!! Id love to buy 1!!! Absolutely beautiful!!
Totally, this is an amazing puzzle. Kudos to the creator.
Garrett, that was a fantastic puzzle! one of my favorites so far. Good job and please make more
These types of puzzles are my favorite and this one definitely didn’t disappoint. What an awesome puzzle from an amazing craftsman. Thanks Chris!
It is truly awesome that people send you this stuff. I would be totally blown away if just once I got something like that amongst the final reminders.
