Interesting perspective into the goings on of the MDC, I always suspected. Just tells us never to let out guard down, these politicians are always about their personal interests, different side of the same coin.

Were there forces that worked against Mugabe running an honest administration. The other two stories that needed further exploration were, Prof Moyo, why did he flip from critic of zpf to pivotal insider, what would Mr Nyarota's view be. Lastly the Mdc and opposition in general more personal stories of interactions with Tsvangirai. Hope you have him on again.

Mr. Nyarota, a decorated journalist deserves every accolade for his fearless journalism while at the Chronicle and the Daily News.
It is important, however, that the former fearless journalist we knew as "Little Nyarota" has now morphed into a very sophisticated PR point person for His Excellecency, Garwe. You don't need to look anywhere further than this interview, even though evidence elsewhere is very overwhelming in exposing Mr. Nyarota's well choreographed PR job.
Let's look at the evidence here. Nyarota was more than happy to talk about his past achievements and at the same time lambasting our current journalists as mediocre. According to Mr. Nyarota, the current crop of journalists are poorly trained and not brave enough compared to people of his ilk.
While there might be some truth that some of today's journalists aren't up to the task, but it's preposterous for Mr. Nyarota to paint all the current crop journalists as mediore.
In fact, I will contend that today's journalist have demontrated more bravery than Nyarota, as the political climate has deteriorated gravely since the rise of the junta in Harare. Back in the days, the stubborn Nyarota could be summoned to the State House and get presidential support in doing honest journalism. Mugabe, someone who was an unquestionable despot, was nevertheless a midler despot compared to ED.
Equally important, the judiciary was way much more independent than it is now. ED literary sends people to jail without trial, something not as common when Gushungo was in power. I was hoping for Nyarota to praise the work being done Hopewell Chin'ono and Jestina Mukoko, but now I realize that Mr. Nyarota was careful to avoid offending "His Excellence."
Mr. Nyarota has been very complimentary to Garwe, someone who is tearing apart our constitution and also responsible for copting the judiciary. Look at the shame trials we have had juring the junta era. We are indeed living in the most hostile environment to journalism since independence, and Mr. Nyarota didn't not care enough to talk about it.
Nyarota is the most dangerous man as he is using his well derseved reputaion to mislead us and legitimize the junta. His apparent attempt to belittle the tragedy of the Gukuruhundi exemplifies Nyarota's shameless effort to appease Mnangagwa by insinuating that the pain of the Matebeleland mascres weren't more painful than the lives lost during the liberation war. This colous comparative approach done by a guy who was the editor of the chronicle based in Bulawayo shows beyond reasonable doubt that Nyarota is merely working an ED propandist, despite the well accomplished journalist effort to label Jonathan Moyo as a the worst turncoat.
    Shame on you Geoff!
