Thank you for this so informative blog today, June 23rd, 2023. I realize that I have lost my two best friends when I moved to the country. One of my neighbors is nice to me and so I have been nice in return. I am a single lady and retired. But this neighbor has a sort of different way of living his life that is not appropriate to me and I have told him that I am never going to be like that. So then I have another girlfriend that I met at the beach. The beach is more of a Community setting. I am planning to move to the Beach so I can have more friends in my life with more conforming lifestyles like me. To me it is important to feel accepted and comfortable in the company you keep. It was nice to see/hear how you categorized the Circle of Friends!
Useful summary, thank you, and I agree that friendship is as vital in retirement as in any other time of life. Possibly more so, as situational friendships such as those at work, may decline. However, I do feel that as life changes, and in particular as health problems develop (eg I can no longer drive), it can be difficult to keep up with friends. Still, this video is a helpful reminder not to give up!!
Love this video! So hubby and I are both introverts and really have to push ourselves (initiative). Any and all friends seem to be "low dose." How are you deciding and handling the interpersonal aspects of graduating acquaintances up to friends or out altogether? Thanks so much!! New subbie here. Amen on the ambivalence friendships. It seems like we feel indifferent about most relationships. WTH does that equate to?!?
This is such a great topic to bring to light! I love your channel! ~ Belinda

@4:19 We all have them and we all ARE them. If you’re saying not me! Well …😉 It just’s a fact. Life on this tiny planet with all 7 billion humans would be boring if not.
