So a friend of mine found this butter dance "performance art" video (original found here: • Lilith Performance Stu... ) and told me to watch it while listening to Adele. I put the music with it and this video came into existence. (the way the video lines up with the music was a complete accident but it makes it neat)
The original dance was done by the artist, Melati, and I do not own or claim any rights to that.
The song, "Someone Like You," belongs entirely to Adele. I neither own nor claim ANY rights to this song.

Some people have been telling me this is fake. I really can't see it though. I've gone over the footage time and time again, each time trying to see where it could've been faked. I watched this 50 times and I just can't see what those people are getting at. I can't believe it's not butter.

Yes, it actually is art. If you've ever heard of "performance art", that's what this is. Its usually really strange and doesn't really make sense but some people really really love it. The original version of this did not have Adele in it. The link to the original is in the description is you want to check it out.
And actually, the woman in this video, Melati Suryodarmo, is actually one of the more famous "performance artists."
Such a magnificent piece of art. Butter is a physical representation of fat. This really shows her bittersweet relationship with food. She likes it but she doesn't, she likes it but it's killing her, she wants to leave it but she can't. Death is impending for her arteries are clogging up, but she just can't stop. Brought tears to my eyes, 10/10, would watch again. Goes to show that fine arts majors are not entirely worthless.

WOW. That was powerful. I felt it added a whole new level of poignancy to the song. The butter was a metaphor for the slippery and often dangerous terrain we stumble on in our quest for love. Many times we fall, but we get up again, making the same errors of judgment, but persevering. A true work of art. Bravo, bravo.
Beautiful. One must respect her commitment to her art. Her dance provides a powerful example of how women are repeatedly knocked to the ground by society's traditions, manifested by the historic feminine dance moves, the standard-issue cocktail dress, and the impractical high heeled shoes. Life is inherently slippery, inherently challenging. Attempts to maneuvering through it in high heels, and all that goes with high heels, are certain to fail, leaving a woman effectively smashed into the ground.
A writer might more fully articulate all of that, though probably not so succinctly or memorably. But it's not for anyone to tell Melati Suryodarmo how to express herself. If this is what interests her, this is what she should do. In any event, she made her point. I do hope she doesn't do any permanent damage to her body while performing her butter dance.
