Note10 Lite is the obvious best pick between these two unless you care about gyro sensor gestures, newer chipset & 5G (which in the Philippines isn't even as fully implemented). Half the price and has microSD card slot, my friend is very happy when I helped him pick this phone from Samsung to replace his ageing Galaxy A8+ from 2018 which I sold to him. Now he's very happy with the camera and the ability to take Notes with an S-Pen but didn't need to pay $1080 (local PH price of a Note20 non-5G, Exynos) for a phone with a 60Hz screen. But if you really care about your budget I think a second hand Note10+ or a brand new Note10 Lite is worth a look!

Me and my friend just bought his Galaxy Note10 Lite just a week ago and he couldn't be any more happier that he save some bucks from instead getting a Note20 and being able to find a Note10 Lite depsite of it being a year old already! So we ended his year being so happy and very satisfied upgrading from a Galaxy A8+ to a Galaxy Note10 Lite. Sure it doesn't have the bells and whistles of the flagship Note20 like the 9ms S-Pen latency, 5G capability, bigger internal storage of 256GB & speakers... But it makes up for tye most part of having the same exact display, an expandable storage via MicroSD up to 1TB and most of all... A Headphone Jack. So I think for the money Note10 Lite is no way on earth a bad option against its sibling Note20. Very happy that I was able to help my friend find his dream phone, Galaxy Note10 Lite. #HappyNewYear everyone! May we all have a great 2021 ahead of us all! Especially to Wayne of TechDaily.

I'm not sure if the bulging camera lenses at the back of the flagship phones make any difference on photo quality. But another practical thing I like about the Note 10 lite, is when you are writing notes your phone is more stable because of the flat back surface (the camera lenses don't bulge in note 10 lite)

But if i buy a note 10 lite ...i can change it after 3 years. I don't think i can keep a phone for more than 3 years and i don't sell my phones... i pass it down to my parents. Plus the tech industry is growing pretty fast... maybe after 3 years foldables will the norm.

  • @sidewaysfcs0718
    @sidewaysfcs0718 Před 3 lety +4

64MP sensors on smartphones are useless and basically worse than 12MP ones for several reasons:
    1. Shooting video in 8K only requires ~32MP, and almost no one has an 8K screen to view the video on it, so this is just a gimmick and a waste.
    2. Shooting video in 4K quality only requires 8MP, the only good reason o have more pixels is for gyro-EIS which crops a 8MP sections of the 12MP sensor and shifts that section to produce EIS stabilization, you don't beed 64MP for that.
    3. The 64MP sensor on the note20 is a larger, but since that's a telephoto camera i can bet you most of this sensor area is wasted since the maximum focal length the camera can produce on a 8.3 mm thick phone even with a 3-4mm camera bump is at max...8-9 mm, at the note10 lite has a thickness of 9mm with a very small camera bump, so the real focal lengths are the same. The "full frame" focal length on the Note 20 is larger at a maximum of 81mm (if we are to believe the 3x zoom really is optical) which means they cropped the sensor to get this equivalent focal lenght for the 3x zoomed shots, this is why they're calling it a "hybrid zoom", while the note10 lite has a "full frame" focal lenght of 52mm which is more realistic for the full crop factor and real focal lenghts which are at maximum 9mm.
    4. No social media outlet posts photos with more than 4-5MP, and videos are usually capped at 1080p or 1440p for most social media except youtube which does support 8K formats, but since most screens you have even on laptops and desktops are at most 1440p (2K) and in very rare cases 4K, there's very little benefit even for more than 12MP sensors, so the 12MP sensor is MORE than enough to take good photos and videos.
    5. Most 64MP or even 108MP sensor use pixel-binning, which means the pixels are "binned together" to produce a lower resolution image, usually 12MP is the standard effective resolution for photos taken by these "ultra high resolution" sensors, only for 8K video does the sensor use a 32MP resolution, so for the 64MP sensor that's still some binning OR a cropping of the full sensor to just a smaller section (this also makes sense if you want electronic/optical stabilization, you can never use the full sensor to record stabilized video for OIS or EIS).
    6. Smaller pixels = more noise, the non-binned pixels on the 64MP sensor are at 0.8 micrometers, so shooting a 64MP format would have poorer quality compared to the 12MP 1micrometer pixels on the telephoto lens if you really used the full 64MP resolution.
Don't fall for the bullshit megapixel hype, 12MP is the optically best format if you want 4K video, and is more than enough to do electronic stabilization AND optical stabilization when available.

Here's the thing, I think you'd see a lot more people walking around with phones from like 3 or 4 years ago if they were updated, and long-lasting as I have found that people really only need specs equivalent to the S7. However, I have noticed that once the software hasn't been updated for a long time, it tends to slow down.

I have both note 10 lite and note 20.
Note 10 lite is more a value for money phone.
But note 20 is much better in camera ,sound and screen quality. Front camera is also much better on note 20.

    note 10 lite problems
1.Slight heating issue while streaming and recording for longer than 10 minutes..
Poor blurry low light front camera.
Reddish tint in low light in wide angle camera and Blurry selfies and too much whitish front camera. Everything looks kind of plastic.

Watching this 2-3 years later thought the note 20 looked more premium it basically looks like a direct successor to the note 10 lite. The note 10 and 20 were overpriced and were more of a lite phone than an entry level flagship, I'd considering the note 20 a $599-$699 phone and the note 10 a $749-$799 phone and the note 10 lite start price should've been $449 instead of $529. The s20 started at $999 which I found over priced for entry level flagship to start at $999 because that even in 2023 is usually the price of ultra level phone.
